property is good. room was excellent & comfortable. wish the hot tub stayed open later, as we were looking forward to it after dinner & it was closed early. other than that, no complaints.

It was ok , breakfast was a muffin a small oj and water,not impressed. The room was very small and tv needed to be higher on wall. The bathroom was big compared to the room. It was nice. Great water pressure. I liked being able to park my vehicle in front of the room. Hot tub room was so chlorinated I couldn’t even stay inside because of fumes.

We checked for a six night stay - first room was dirty old looking, smelled, and tiniest refrigerator, we complained and on day 3 moved us to a studio. Studio was much better especially ocean view and was able to watch lightshow from room. Hot tub was broken the whole time -they should of stated on website one of the main reasons picked hotel

Enjoyed our stay at Pacific Reef; it has the best hot tub on the coast. Rooms were fine but need upgrading since furniture does not match the space. Walk to the beach ideal. Breakfast buffet OK, staff very helpful. Property needs an upgrade since adjacent hotels are newer and refurbished. Big picture in back yard entertaining but not worth the space. They would do better putting in outdoor pool and spa near the beach, like their nextdoor neighbor hotel. Add a fire pit and tables during summer and you've got a great oudoor space.

We just needed a room for one night passing through. The economy room was a motel unit with parking right in front - very convenient for us! The room was spacious, light, clean and inviting with a good size table, a mini fridge and coffeemaker. Good shower, comfi bed. It had all we need as travelers.

Overall nice stay. I loved that it was 30 seconds by foot to a beautiful beach. We absolutely loved our morning stroll on the sand with the great coffee provided in our room. Although the room was quite nice, the bathroom was really outdated and looked like it needed a deep cleaning (grout and sealant around window needed a good bleaching). I didn’t love my shower experience. I’d stay there again if I knew the bathrooms were going to be in better shape as I loved everything else!

Absence of maintenance. Deteriorating grounds and buildings. My room was barren with chipped old furniture. No headboard and wall behind bed dirty. Floor peeling, rust around door, shower curtain rod falling off wall, curtains missing. Glass on slider opaque, light show panels broken. Grounds full of weeds. Staff powerless to correct. No decent management.

It was very old. The pictures made it look better than it was in person. It needed updating. Lots of mold in the shower. Limited lighting and electrical plugs.

The view was beautiful but we had a lot ants in the bathroom. It wasn’t a restful night for me but my husband thought the bed was comfy so he slept good. The ladies working in the office were very nice

All the furnishings in the room were old and dirty. The refrigerator was dirty, the bathtub was filthy (It was my first time seeing a toilet plunger in a hotel bathroom!), the fan was rusty, and small bugs were crawling on the cracked wooden floor. The bed sagged in the middle and was uncomfortable, and the pillow was the same. However, the front desk staff welcomed us with smiles. I won't stay here again.

Overall, happy with our stay. Location was great, we had a deluxe room overlooking the ocean. The carpet was very stained and needed to be replaced/restretched. Otherwise it was clean. Beds were nice, light show was cool, but it was hard to see before it got dark. Maybe start 30 minutes later. Balconies are nice and private. Staff is not on site 24/7. We got locked out at 7am and a staff member came to rescue us at 7:30am. It's obviously our fault for getting locked out and they were quick to respond and have someone come, but it's still a little unsettling to not have staff there past 8pm. It'd also be nice if there was a notice sent about having to arrange late check in ahead of time. We weren't late, but I just happen to find that info online, it was never specifically said to me when we booked which I could see being an issue for a lot of travelers. Short walk to the beach and overall happy with our stay. Doesn't seem like there is a ton of super nice hotels in this little town, this was probably one of the nicer ones. But while the town was small and a little old, still felt safe.

Ok it’s really two properties. One is a very basic motel, no thrills! Spend a few bucks more and upgrade to the condo unit it’s facing the beach. U will thank me.

Very nice room with a good view of the ocean. It had a balcony with rocking chairs. The property has a big screen behind the buildings that will show a good documentary on the Oregon coast. Nice outdoor theater. We watched from out room. It had a grab and go breakfast of muffins,granola bars, yogurt,coffee etc. The Gold Beach area of the coast is beautiful. Highly recommend this place

I stayed in one of the single small rooms. Great value for reasonable cost.the only thing I didnt like was the powerlines above my room, and could here cars on the roadway all night. I suggest one of the newer rooms closer to ocean that I will ask for next time.

Our stay was not comfortable. The room was outdated and small. They was a random chair that you would see in a gym or church, and there wasn't a good place for it because it blocked the bed anywhere we put it. We had a queen sized bed, which is enough room for two people to sleep. The problem is that people have slept in the center so much that the center was sunk in. That left us feeling like we were constantly moving around because we were sinking in towards each other instead of laying flat. Could also hear the neighbor's dog barking through the wall. The room had a small shower. It had one small shelf with a hole in the center, which might be for hanging a washcloth but wouldn't hold anything else. The shower head was old and didn't have a lot of water coming out. We honestly weren't sure if the shower was old and dirty, or if the little black lines/spots (not mold) all over the shower was a design choice. The internet barely worked when connected to wifi. The staff were ok. You could tell the person that checked us in was either not having a great day or just doesn't enjoy their job. They charge $250 if you smoke in a room. Came back from a road trip to our room smelling like weed. Went to the front desk to let them know it must be one of our neighbors so we arent blamed and charged. The person at the desk told me it was probably just a skunk, even though the smell wasn't outside and skunk spray is more potent smelling than dank weed. We were offered air fresheners.

This is a unique property with its nightly light show (we did not watch the light show so don’t know how if it is good or not). It is located right on Hwy. 101. We stayed in one of the rooms closer to the road and did experience a lot of traffic/road noise. It seems to be an older property and could use some improvements for sure, but it is a decent place to stay. Our room was fairly spacious, and it was tidy and clean. Served our purpose just fine.

When we first checked in our room had a skunk scent to it. I spoke with the manager on duty and he said that the property next door had a skunk issue under their garbage bin, and the smell had spread. They quickly moved us to another room that smelled great. I realize things can happen and they showed wonderful customer service. Easy walk to the beach. The light show was fun, and there is a great gathering place room that we played board games in. Nice hot tub. The free muffin and fruit cup for breakfast were low key, but in exchange you get a really nice clean room at a really affordable rate.

When we first checked in our room had a skunk scent to it. I spoke with the manager on duty and he said that the property next door had a skunk issue under their garbage bin, and the smell had spread. They quickly moved us to another room that smelled great. I realize things can happen and they showed wonderful customer service. Easy walk to the beach. The light show was fun, and there is a great gathering place room that we played board games in. The staff was nice and responsible, he waited for us to check in till 10:00 pm. The location of the hotel is close to beach, about 5 minute walk. The place is quiet and safe, easy parking. While, the hotel is equipped simply, no air conditioner but electrical fan instead in the room. Only simple breakfast bag is provided.

When you stay here, you actually get 2 light shows - one from Mother Nature setting the sun over the Pacific with a quick beach walk and the other is put on by the hotel along with a quick history of the area in the “backyard.” The staff were super friendly and helpful when I locked myself out of my room.

The staff were polite and friendly. The property was clean and simple and there’s nothing wrong with that — it could use a bit of a refresh, but still very comfortable, clean, and quiet. They made a wonderful dinner recommendation — Spinner’s Seafood and Steak, which was almost the only place open on Easter Sunday. We only stayed one night and we arrived too late to get dinner and be back to check out the light show so we can’t offer a review of the light show. And it rained heavily and steadily the day we arrived and the day we left so we couldn’t explore too much, but the area around the property looked great. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean, which was the only thing we heard all night. It was one of the few places we had a good night’s sleep during our two-week trip. No amenities fees — everything is included in the price of the room, including the grab and go breakfast in the morning. Would recommend a stay here. And would stay again.

This is a unique property with its nightly light show (we did not watch the light show so don’t know how if it is good or not). It is located right on Hwy. 101. We stayed in one of the rooms closer to the road and did experience a lot of traffic/road noise. It seems to be an older property and could use some improvements for sure, but it is a decent place to stay. Our room was fairly spacious, and it was tidy and clean. Served our purpose just fine.

It was ok , breakfast was a muffin a small oj and water,not impressed. The room was very small and tv needed to be higher on wall. The bathroom was big compared to the room. It was nice. Great water pressure. I liked being able to park my vehicle in front of the room. Hot tub room was so chlorinated I couldn’t even stay inside because of fumes.

It was good. Beds were comfy. Tv was kind of small and no closed captioned available for my Deaf hubby! We will not return to this hotel again. For others would be fine! Breakfast to go was ok.

Overall this hotel was okay. I give it points for being clean and quiet and so close to beach area. Not much amenities to offer as far as breakfast or tea/coffee choices in lobby. Not a huge area with an array of decent dining choices. We had a good one night stay on our way elsewhere.

I don't know how this hotel got a rating of 4. The room was supposed to have a queen bed - it was more like a double. The television was mounted crookedly on the wall. It was nice to have a small refrigerator. The wall heater worked fine, but there is no A/C if one plans to stay in the summer. They provide the thinnest plastic drinking classes, and they are so light weight that they can get knocked over easily. For $98 dollars a night, we feel we were overcharged. It felt like $60 would have been more appropriate. When we drove through the town, we saw two nicer hotels just down the street. Too bad we didn't stay at either one of these two - for just a few dollars more. We reserved the room online through Hotels.com, based on the strength of the rating - big mistake. If we had just driven through town to check out other properties, we would have definitely passed this one up. We would never stay here again, nor would we stay in Gold Beach - the restaruant choices are all pretty poor. Just keep going...
