Sleep Inn Beaver- Beckley

I noticed that the side door was not secure - possible security issue - had key access but it did not work. Thanks for accommodating our dog.

Outside doors were not locked

Pet-friendly hotels are usually hit or miss, and this one is definitely a hit. Great space out front to walk dogs and rooms are very comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again.

Desk clerk was super nice. Not elevator in hotel so had to carry luggage upstairs. Room was dated and some things were not as clean as they should be. The shower door wouldn’t latch. Not terrible but there are better choices so we probably won’t be back

No elevator. My husband travels with oxygen concentrator, very inconvenient to lug up 2 flights of steps. Sue @ desk very helpful;when lobby cleared she brought up one of our bags

There was no elevator on the property and there was no hot food option on the breakfast, just cereal, toast and waffles.

The stay was ok. No elevator and my wife has a handicap. The continental breakfast was very limited and because things were very busy the staff were really stressed keeping up and bravo to their efforts.Very few options for food close by.None of the outside doors locked so security a concern.The hotel was ok but would probably not stay there again.

Good place to travel with our dogs, areas for walking them. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The back entrance was not locked. Big hole in the wall. No hair conditioner.

We always have a good stay at this Sleep Inn. The rooms are always clean, and the property is very quiet. The only drawbacks are that there's no elevator, and breakfast is just continental with oretty basic offerings. However, for the property itself, the service, and the price, it's really a very good value. Stay with confidence.

I wasn't expecting much from this hotel, I knew it was a one night stop-over and it wasn't ideal but would be fine for one night. We were put in a room on the 2nd floor at the back of their hotel. The hallway and stairs leading up smelled horribly of industrial strength cleaning chemicals like they were trying to cover up another smell. The room was musty to the point the carpet felt moist, there were piles of dust and dirt in corners, and everything had a layer of dust on it like it had not been cleaned recently. The hotel allows pets in every room, and evidently had some dog hair embedded in the carpet. We checked in around 9pm and dropped our stuff in the room, then left for dinner and got back around 11:30pm. By the time we settled and got ready for bed around 12:30am, we found bed bugs crawling on the wall. We killed them in a panic, saving one to show the front desk, and then packed up our belongings and went to the front desk to notify them. We didn't feel comfortable staying in another room and decided to leave. The person at the front desk at this hour didn't have the authority to give us a refund. At 1am we had to drive around looking for a hotel that had vacancy and ended up having to pay 2x the amount. After multiple tries, Sleep Inn refused any form of a refund or compensation. I had to contact corporate (Choice Hotels) to open a case, and they were able to offer me just a partial refund. I'm extremely unimpressed, bed bugs should always warrant a full refund.

This is my third stay at this hotel. We stay here because it's convenient. However let me finally leave a review that will hopefully spark something in management. The rooms are not horrible, but they are not clean. You can see the caked on dust all along the floors against the walls. The shower doors need to be replaced because when you shower water gets all over the floor, leading to mold in the corners. The rooms desperately need an update. The first night I slept we checked in very late so we went right to sleep, woke up and looked at the blanket and noticed a blood stain on it.(trust me it wasn't from us).Asked the front desk for a new blanket and I received no apology for it. Standards are not important here.

Roaches again

Bugs in the room. All starch breakfast. Have stayed in other Sleep Inns. This one didn’t meet the standard

This hotel is old and tired. The pictures do not reflect its current condition. There is no elevator at this hotel. The rooms are small. The only chair to sit in is an office chair. There were ants in the bathroom.

The room had a musty odor. The bathtub was stained and the bathtub drain was calcium crusted. The toilet did not flush right each time used. There were few options for the breakfast provided.

This property was bad enough that we didn’t stay there! Mold in the room, an odor that was horrible, and dust everywhere.

Hallway smelled like stale cigarette smoke. Room smelled musty. Clean, but musty

COCKROACHES. We attempted to stay at this hotel based on the great reviews and 8.2/10 rating on Expedia. We were shocked to find cockroaches immediately upon entering our first room. We went to the desk, and she changed our room and the second room also had cockroaches present on immediate arrival. Needless to say, we did not end up staying. Lisa at the front desk was extremely apologetic and kind, so the staff and service were great, but I would not recommend this hotel. Along with that, there was a drunk man yelling at everyone and shouting to himself during this entire exchange and the staff had to walk hotel residents to their room due to them feeling uncomfortable. Based on their comments, it sounds like this was a fairly regular occurrence? It was a pain in the butt to get the refund back due to Expedia reaching out on the Manager's off-duty hours even though they were given the direct phone number, name, and hours on Wednesday night. They continued to try to reach the facility outside of these times so that the manager could not authorize the refund. I had to call on 4 separate occasions to get this all sorted out. I have always had a great experience booking with Expedia, but this was an extraordinary inconvenience to say the least.

This place was very nice. Clean room. Excellent staff and Comfy bed.

From the moment I walked in Shawn was absolutely amazing in every way. Very clean hotel. My only disappointment was the very old shower. Besides that, great place to stay for the money.

Every sleep inn I've stayed at has spectacular beds and pillows. This one did not disappoint. Room was slightly small, but not tiny. TV was small, not many channels. Staff very friendly and helpful. Slightly above average experience overall. For those looking for a great night's sleep, this is the place. For a longer stay, I would look elsewhere. Right next to the highway, set back so very quiet.

The room was old, poorly painted/repaired, but the beds were great. We liked the room layout. Hall traffic was very noisy - slamming doors and loud conversations.

Friendly staff, clean rooms. Please note, the beds are only double beds, so they are smaller than queens.

The room was affordable, clean, and had good water pressure. The room was small, but not too bad. The bathroom did leave a lot to be desired though! The front sliding door of the hotel seemed to be malfunctioning and was obnoxiously loud, but we couldn’t hear it in our room thankfully. Overall, we were satisfied with what we got for the price, and would stay here again.

The bad started when we were sent to a room that hadn't been cleaned. We were given a different room and the room smelled bad. We put up with it but wasn't too good smelled musty to me . The TV had a terrible picture and the tv was very small. The room was so small and there was only 2 of us. No room for suitcases. The shower had good water pressure but the shower itself was very odd. The door swung both ways and was in no way watertight. So, expect water on the floor. The location was in the middle of nowhere. Nothing around except a Marathon station across the road. Breakfast was subpar. Not much but cold cereal, juice yogurt there was a waffle maker. No eggs or sausage or anything like that. I wouldn't stay again

Good stay, reasonable rates. TV was small and poorly placed to see from the bed. Wall mount would be better.Otherwise everything was great.

Staff was accomodating and helpful. Room size felt small. The first night our neighbors were having a loud disagreement soninsulation isnt great as they were easily hear.d. Location was close to the park

This hotel was nice it was clean and quiet it was not 5 star but I would stay there again it was safe the staff was very nice only thing I didn’t like was the shower water was not very warm and the tv channels had no signal most of the time over all it was a nice place to stay for the night or a few days

The first room I was assigned was in a hallway that had a strong odor of food, and was very noisy. The receptionist happily changed my room. She was cheerful and accommodating. We wished the outside doors to the hallways were locked to make it safer.

At 5:15 the fire alarm went off non one at the front desk. No fire department. After half the guests evacuated the alarm went off . A gal appeared at the front desk for about 30 seconds then disappeared again, leaving guests who hurried out without their room keys stranded

The staff was amazing! They really made our stay perfect.

Property was quiet and the bed was as comfortable, but the atmosphere was utter confusion. The first room we were assigned hadn’t even been cleaned. We took a different room but when we went to take our bags out in the morning, we found our keycard was disabled before we even checked out. Apparently they had checked someone else out who gave them the wrong room number and they didn’t verify it. Breakfast was pretty much nonexistent. Wouldn’t stay there again.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!! I booked this hotel through Expedia and when I got to the hotel to check in they told me all the rooms were dirty and they did not have a room for me! I already paid for the hotel through Expedia. No one will refund my money. Expedia keeps telling me they are waiting for this terrible hotel to refund them and no one will do it! How is every single room dirty! Now I’ve paid for a room that I never got. DO NOT BOOK HERE

The lady at the front desk who checked us in late at night was super friendly and kind! The rooms were just a little dated. There was definitely more noise near our room due to location of being close to the main stairs. Lady checking us out was a little less than friendly but overall stay was fine for our quick stop!

Everything is great at the sleep in however I did have an issue with my keys failing and because of the length of the line and the slow check in process I waited in line for 45 minutes to get my keys reprogrammed which took a minute if that other than that no issues always friendly and clean

Easy to find, right off of the highway but not noisy. Stayed here because I was starting in the south side of New River Gorge National Park the next day. Gas station is across the street. Hotel seemed very busy but never noticed noise related to that.

Quiet, out of the way hotel. Very clean! Comfortable beds, clean modern rooms. There is some kind of heavy equipment company in the back of the property, so it's not pretty to look at, but it was quiet on a weekday. No elevator, do if you limited in mobility, get a room on the first floor. Multiple entry doors around the buildings, so easy to park closest to your room. Great value for the price we paid. Closest dining options are in Beckley, about 12 min drive.

Staff was very kind and friendly and property was in close distance to New River Gorge

Right off the highway, Walmart nearby.

I was looking for a hotel in Beckley, WV near I19. This was somewhat out of the way. However, the hotel was nice, quiet, and clean. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a good hotel but doesn’t mind a little drive off I19.

Clean ! We went skiing and this was perfect, about 20 min from Winterplace

Very comfortable beds/pilllows. They over booked and there were a bunch of people who showed up late and didn’t have a room. Free breakfast had rather limited offerings.

Front desk help was great when we checked in😁 This Sleep Inn location is showing its age but I think the most disappointing part was breakfast. This is our third sleep in stay this month but first at this location. All they had was waffles limited fruit, bread and muffins no eggs or sausage no yogurt a lot of nothing so quite disappointed didn’t even stay for breakfast.

Great price! Clean room, good area. No hot water, waited for several minutes and it didn’t change. Reported to staff, she just said oh no. Very basic breakfast, biscuit, world across the road would recommend there if you want something more substantial.

Rooms are clean. Breakfast was very limited for quantity of bread, fruit, milk and juice. All carb continental style. Only had hard boiled eggs 1 of 3 visits. Told ran out? Sunday morning 6:30 am? Someone not doing their job. Very disappointing.

Overall my stay was great. Staff were very friendly. The room was neat and tidy. There was a little dust around the edges but didn’t deter my cleanliness sensibilities too bad. Continental breakfast was basic but satisfying. Could use a little protein in the choices. I would certainly stay again.

“Hot breakfast” is stretching it. The only thing “hot” was a single waffle maker and a toaster, but the coffee was hot and they had juice.
