Generally everything was ok. However the ramp down into the lower level car park really needs a sign warning drivers that the curb is extending into the driveway as it is not visible when making a turn. I ended up damaging the side skirt of my car as there is now way a driver in a regular height car can see it, car sensors didn't see it either. I've mentioned this to reception staff when checking out. Hopefully they will bring this up with the management as they promised.

Excellent hotel well located for marina and dining options in nelson bay and makes a great base for exploring the area. Plenty of parking with spacious comfortable and immaculately clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff, we booked an extra night but had to change rooms but was all sorted by staff while we went out. Nice heated pool with bbq area and small gym on site also little nell cafe attached to hotel great for coffee breakfast and lunch options. Highly recommend.

Overall pleasant experience. Staff was nice. Cafes food was yummy. There was some sort of a smell in the room which is prominent as soon as you enter. Bed was too soft for our liking. Asked staff they didn’t have any firm overlay or other rooms available with firm mattress. Room was slightly smaller for our liking.

This hotel is an absolute gem, beautiful clean spacious rooms, beds are so comfortable and lovely staff and all at a great price in the centre of town. Lucky to be staying here for two nights. Great view also.

Loved the size and comfort of the family room with 2 queen beds. Small but functional kitchenette and large bathroom. Very nicely decorated and wonderful soft bed. Would highly recommend for family, easy walking to shops and marina and great restaurant for breakfast next door. Heated pool to.

From the minute you arrive the exceptional staff make your day. Our room was very well equiped and larger than most. Newly renovated with kitchenette and large bathroom there was nothing left wanting. The facilities at the hotel were well above average. The price was a big surprise for what you get. We will definitely be returning to this hotel.

Great new hotel in walking distance to restaurants, the beach and shops. Parking onsite. Unfortunately check in was not as timely as expected as the staff member was inexperienced. Stil give them a chance as I am sure it will improve as staff were friendly but lacked knowledge of the checking in system.

Quiet location this time of year. Surprised to find most shops were shut before 4pm though. Hotel was central and minutes from the bay 👍

Great stay. Cute, well renovated overnight stay. Staff were super nice and helpful. Best staff from a hotel I have experienced in some time. Location is perfect and the on-site cafe is sensational!

I had an amazing stay at Hotel Nelson as a solo traveller. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. The Little Nel cafe next door is great. I would definitely stay again in a heartbeat.

This is a nice hotel in a great location but on our visit the management let us down. We were put on top floor with daily refurbishment next door, no peaceful sleep in for us. The noisy work seemed only necessary in the morning, banging and masonry drills screaming, couldn’t the work be organized to get the noisy work done after lunch and quiet work in the morning? There is an elevator but it was temporarily out of service, on a 3 level hotel I would expect management to get it fixed promptly. Secondly the hotel wasn’t full so why put guests on the highest floor. It seemed to me the management were indifferent to the enjoyment of the guests so I would not recommend this property nor consider it for a future stay.

Bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot. Close to the marina, which was great. Lift was broken, so I had to carry luggage up 2 flights of stairs in the rain. Not ideal. Gym is a treadmill in a very small room. Staff were lovely via email and face-to-face. Little Nel is great spot for breakfast. No water views.
