Fullerton Inn

The Fullerton is a beautiful quaint in. We enjoy staying there year after year easy drive to ski at Okemo. The only suggestion is to get a fireplace working in the main lobby, even if it’s gas, or a fire log! This is a great unused gathering spot at the inn!

The service was wonderful! The restaurant had great food! Very relaxed vibe!

The Inn has a wonderful bar attached to the Inn.....the firesplace in the bar was wonderful

Very old and beat-up facility. The walls are so thin that I can literally hear the guy next door snoring. Can't even park in the front of the property during heavy snow days. and excuse me? no TV? Facility and service do not justify the price they charge. Don't stay here if you have other choices

Bed was comfortable and it was quiet. Restaurant was delicious.

We are 91 and 86 years old. We had no prior notice that the hotel had rooms only on the second and third floors, with at least two staircases to reach the second floor. (Which they refer to as the first, using the European style.) Also there is no elevator. We would not have booked here, had we known that. There was no full breakfast, only muffins, pastry, and fruit.

Ski weekend with my son, Owner was very accommodating and opened the restaurant/bar early so we could watch the football game on the big screen.

If you select The Fullerton for a comfy and cozy stay, do yourself a favor and have dinner there. The staff, specifically Hannah, are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food and drinks are amazing with many vegetarian options. Save room for dessert! I had the creme brulee and it was sublime. I'll definitely be back soon.

Comfortable king bed, small dated room, no black out shade on window facing the street with severe light intrusion, second floor room with only stairs so not good for persons of limited ambulation, inviting common room on ground floor with beautiful fireplace and no wood to fill it with on a 15 degree night, restaurant in inn provided well prepared food at reasonable prices for 2025,

A charming Inn. There is no elevator so be prepared to lug your suitcases up stairs. This place is adequate for a few nights stay

Room was very clean staff was excellent it was in the old original setting back in the 1900s so if you want to just get away there is no TV so you can just relax

Clean, friendly but a bit shop worn. Mattress so-so. One lamp missing a bulb. Convenient dining room/bar. Great location. Ran out of coffee at the continental breakfast.

An extremely nice place to overnight. There was no TV, as I knew going in, but that’s the only possible objection anyone could have. It was a perfectly clean, perfectly comfortable room in which to read and rest up. The very good on-site restaurant is a pleasant bonus, as is the unobtrusive but exceptionally competent staff. I’ll be staying there again.

Hotels.com photos and reality were so different. I get putting your best foot forward in pics but this is not even close. Carpeting worn and torn in public areas. No heat until the morning. Gaps in window air unit didn't help keep cold air out. No room cleaning service. Didn't eat at restaurant but seemed to be fairly busy. Staff people when we saw one were nice.

I rarely ever write a review, but this place is not as it appears in the picture. It is need of quite a bit of structual repair. In fairness-we did not complain about anything -which we should have. My husband and I are both 73-in decent shape but we were given a 3rd floor room which was tiny and the bathroom was equally tiny-the smallest shower I have ever been in. The bedspread was very stained but did appear washed and there were so many cobwebs on both bedside lamps I had to use a towel before turning the lamps on. No TV but it did have a good working AC. The stairs were not even to walk up and down on (it is a very old building) The head of the mattress was tilted down-very odd. We were out of there prior to 7:30 AM the next day. Never to come back

This inn was the most affordable I found in the area. It is located on a quiet main street in Chester, with a bit of shopping within walking distance. The inn itself is a lovely building, but it is a bit run down. Stair carpeting needed vacuuming. In the room, the bedspread had a stain on it. The room had a strange antiseptic smell. It was fine for the cost, but could be so much more with some refurbishment!

This place probably has the worst quality/price rating ever. Rooms are small, worn out and dirty. Bed was very worn out with a very poor mattress. Only entertainment in the room was the Holy Bible that was left laying on the table. There were even no glasses on the room (are we supposed to drink straight from the tap?). When we arrived to the place, we were directed to a room that was not cleaned. When going back to the reception, they appologized and gave us another room. When we asked for ice (from three different waitresses), they all said that they will do something but nothing happened. Breakfast was very limited. I dont know what has happened to this place - many of the comments say that it was a nice hotel and it seems that this is really not true. There were only a couple of other customers staying at the hotel at the same time. Very quiet place. There are other nicer places around, maybe it would be vise to choose one of them instead of this one.

I was running a marathon in Springfield, VT, about 10 minutes away. The Fullerton was the closest place I could find. It is an old building, and my guess is that each room is a bit different. This review is for Room 9. Check in was fine, and the desk manager was friendly. The room was clean and quiet. The room had two single beds, although there was plenty of space for larger beds. The bathroom was a joke. I'm 6'1". The metal frame on the left is the towel rack. It hangs out over the toilet at about 5'6". It is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The shower is behind me - it was a 2x2 fiberglass cube. I couldn't wash my feet without extending some part of my body outside of the shower. Finally, there were only two outlets in the room, both mounted on baseboards about 3 inches above the floor. No TV, no microwave, no mini-fridge. If you are short and like "quaint", this may work for you, but I will never be back.

Very cute hotel, friendly staff, charming location. The bed was a little saggy, but otherwise my room was great.

Bed and breakfast, room was small and no TV. Lot of antiques in every way so it was relaxing and unique experience.

You're swept away by the beautiful music playing in the stunning lobby. The restaurant staff seems like a well orchestrated ballet. Fabulous waitstaff. Five star. The lady who checked me in was very charming. Poised. Gracious. My room was a serious letdown. I gave ample time the following day to address the old carpet stains and the shower that was plugged and not draining. By 8:30 at night that had not been handled. It was not a fit for me. I was concerned to not be held to my original 4 night reservation. I was told by the man innkeeper I could leave. Now. He didn't 'have a staff of a hundred' ########.......to ensure me a spotless rug.... there was more... Very shocking, jarring, not PC. Did I HAVE a home???? Then...... "Go back now!" He was beyond beyond. She remained composed the entire time. It was a very intense, unpleasant conversation that was extremely rude, explosive,uncomfortable. Stunned, I was able to find accommodations immediately, and left. Presented my $163 bill for that one night. Never in my life of working for Starwood, and then Marriott for two decades had I dealt with such standards. It seems that there's a need to catch up, and what I sense is total Overwhelm. I was determined to reframe my experience of the first time stopping in Chester,Vermont. It seems the massive flood in July took a toll here, and there's the root of stress sensed in town. Hoping all residents regain their balance. Lovely restaurant. Don't recommend Inn

I was more than pleased with my stay at The Fullerton Inn. The Inn itself was very nice, clean, comfortable, inviting, relaxed atmosphere. I believe I may have interacted with everyone there other than the kitchen staff who prepared many tasty and plentiful meals. Try and save room for their desserts, you won't be disappointed. As for the rest of the staff, engaging, pleasant, professional, and enjoyable to interact with, including, Rob the proprietor, all were most welcoming.

Over priced for what you get. No elevators, no maid service or room service, air conditioners need repairs. Big gap where you see daylight so room doesn’t cool efficiently. For solo rooms, new mattress es are needed. The bed spreads are so old need updating! No television and no one around after nine. Continental breakfast, only one pot of coffee was out and ran out and no one filled it or was around. Only minimum amount of bagels, 5 in basket. Not adequate for number of people who stayed! No t

The staff upon checking was unkind and rude. Only recommendation of restaurants was McDonalds apart from the restaurant located inside the restaurant. We asked for extra blankets and the staff said our room didn’t need them as we had an extra heater. The room size was fine. But was very outdated, NO TV and for the price it was outrageous!! The breakfast didn’t start serving into 8am which was too late for us, we asked if they could put some out for us but they declined even thou there were vacancies!! We didn’t get a receipt for our stay as there wasn’t someone in the morning when we checked out.

A unique inn in a charming town. Breakfast falls short, but staff is friendly and helpful

.NO HEAT in our bedroom. The manager told us the inn was on one heat zone and because it had been a warm day the heat hadn’t kicked on yet. It was a warm day by Vermont Spring standards but was in the 40s by 7 pm. We had to ask for extra blankets twice. I slept under 2 extra blankets with all my clothes and a jacket on. The heat never made it to our room. Unfortunately there were no other lodging option available because I wanted to leave at 830 pm whilst shivering in our cold room. We did speak to the manager two more times to no avail. No one in the Inn overnight to address the issue. We were too cold to wait for the continental breakfast that came with the stay. I couldn’t wait to leave to get into a warm car and get some coffee elsewhere.

Manager was very helpful . We enjoyed the lunch during our stay.

The only thing I didn’t like about this property was that it’s right in the “highway” and my room overlooked that road. The window didn’t close all the way due to the window a/c unit so the traffic noise was audible.

This was our 2nd stay at the Inn. The Innkeeper was always available and very helpful. The Inn itself was quaint with a tasty restaurant down stairs. The room was quite and had all needed amenities and the bed was very comfortable. If your looking for a relaxed place to stay close to skiing, this is it!

Great value for the money, nice inn, clean and convenient located in the heart of Chester.

The inn was very cute. It was on a busy road but had sufficient parking and nice stores nearby.

Low heat in my room due to blocked radiator neck even though stem valve was open. But the riser supplied some heat. I don't like it hot anyway. The shower had hot water and great pressure. Great food at the restaurant. Convenient location to ski slopes. Would stay there again.

Excellent location in the village. No water or beverages available, except from the limited bar access.

The staff was very friendly. We loved the stores and Southern Pie Cafe in the same block as Fullerton Inn.

Cute inn, friendly staff, nice location convenient to skiing and some local shops. Continental breakfast could have been better - only food it included was bagels, prepackaged muffins, instant oatmeal, yogurt.

This was the fourth time I've stayed at The Fullerton Inn in the last year so clearly I like the place. It's also convenient to Okemo where I ski. I've eaten in the restaurant three times. The meal has always been wonderful, and I've ordered a different entree in each instance. The room I just stayed in could use a small comfortable chair. Other than that, a very pleasant stay.

The food in the dining room was very good. The "complimentary breakfast bar" consisted of a few bagels and pieces of bread, a couple mini yogurts, and some weak coffee (no decaf tho). The inn is badly in need of refurbishing. Carpeting was old and ancient looking. Bathrooms are very small and old. If a room costs more than $15/night, it is way overpriced.

The continential breakfast was somewhat Spartan. There was only one choice of a type of bagel. If something ran out one had to go to the front desk to inform the attendant who was hidden in a back room behind a computer. He never came out to check if there were enough bagels, coffee etc. One had to go and alert him.

The place is ok..however the coffee is awful. It is worth to visit the pie placa next door.
