Good downtown location. Valet service and front desk staff was great. Lovely outdoor seating. Room was big; a little tired. Fridge didn't work; they replaced it with another fridge next to the dresser in the room. Pool area was old, dirty. Super slippery floor tiles; hair, gunk on floor. Pool surfaces dirty. Don't order room service. 3 servings came combined, tossed in 2 plastic bags in plastic containers, and there was no place in the room to eat it.

Overall great experience, cleanliness, friendly staff. Parking is valet only and at 40 dollars a day is not the best price wise. Pool was clean but empty due to it being super cold all day .

I was in town exhibiting at the GalaxyCon Comic Convention. I have stayed at the Hilton before and chose it because of its location and great service. On this trip, the hotel let myself and others down with the following issues (these are my 3 but there were more from other guest) 1) Two of the three elevators were down for two days 2) Loss of hot water and it took forever to get it repaired 3) Even after requesting to have my room cleaned, it wasn't done for three days I stayed there. As a Hilton club member and for the prices they charge, I expect better! I may look into staying across the street at the Marriott for my next stay.

Hotel staff was friendly attentive and helpful however our room 343 first appearance was on the shabby side it needs a makeover. The chaise lounge was dirty and worn out. That was not enough lighting in the room. The light on the desk was broken and I requested that they replace it which was done. The sink in the bathroom had mold and mildew around the edge..that is a cleaning issue. I pointed it out to the front desk and it was taken care of however the caulking around the tub both floor and the edging around the tub has mold and mildew build up it needs to be taken up and replaced, that is a maintenance issue. My Parents after their retirement ended up managing a large hotel on the outer Banks of North Carolina. Cleaning and maintenance was a family affair. Otherwise we enjoyed the restaurants and bar Lounge. The Italian restaurant was excellent.

The mini fridge did not cool and the iron did not work. The dining within the facility didn’t have many options and valet was very expensive and half the time we got the truck ourselves. We will not be staying at this hotel again and will not suggest it to friends.

The staff incorrectly informed me of valet pricing citing a sheet and said $49 for two days. It was per day. Overall a great stay aside from not realizing this was the one Hilton location that didn't included breakfast.

Front desk staff was not willing to accommodate any of our requests (early check in, high floor, open-not courtyard view) given we booked via Expedia and not directly with Hilton. Rooms are ok, spacious, headboard if the bed was scratched and worn, bathroom was modern and nice. The rest of the common areas seem older, not modern. Breakfast was ok, however the spread lacked in versatility of offerings offered by similar hotels. Not sure if Hilton will be our choice of hotel for future travels.

Second time staying here. I love the high ceilings, large room size, and the pillow top queen beds. Awesome shower. Large tv. Location is very convenient. The valet staff are very friendly and prompt. We haven’t had a chance to eat on site but looked popular and the bar had some good live jazz playing. Also interested in trying the pool next time, we will be back! Thanks for a great stay!

I booked a king sized bed and when I checked in they said they no longer have king sized beds only double. When I asked why? He just said because we don’t have anymore and then mentioned that I booked through a third party website. I asked for a price break and he said I was already getting that through the third party. The room looked okay but we never travel without a black light and WOW. We couldn’t even touch the furniture and were scared to walk in certain parts of the room. The shower was a glass shower, as requested, although when I checked in and reiterated that detail he said he thought this room had one. The safety bar was coming off the wall and one of the body wash bottles that was supposed to be fixed to the wall was off. We also discovered a hole in the ceiling of the closet next to the front door which was a bit unsettling.

Check in was very quick and easy. Parking was pricy at $41 per night. Valet team was super nice. Room was nicely sized and clean. One odd thing, the bathroom did not have a fan. The beds and pillow are awful. We all had a rough night sleeping and woke up with back pain. Check out was quick and easy.

Felt a bit of attitude by the moment I checked in at the counter, ie staff was unusually delaying the check in while 2 people after me got checked in. Worst part is on the day of check out the Valet staff lost my car key (extremely unusual ) and ended up booking another rental for me. They didn’t seems to care much about this incident and keep saying the staff may be sleeping and laughing. Something fishy with these staff mindset, never seen such Hilton Honers experience before.

I landed at 10 AM. Did not get my room until 3:30 PM being homeless for five hours sucked. The staff did not ask me for a phone number to call and let me know when my room is ready. We sit and watch people check in and get wrong keys over and over But every time we went to the front desk, there were no rooms available. They were being cleaned we were told.

The property is clean, the room was a good size. We stayed for an event at the convention and the walking distance is short. The property is a good place to stay if you’re looking for lodging close to the convention center and other area’s downtown near the convention center.

The hotel itself looks like it may have been renovated somewhat recently. It was nice with a good restaurant in the lobby. It wasn’t in a good walking area from what we could see.

The property is conveniently located across the street from the convention center. A short walk or Uber to plenty of dining options. Room has high ceilings and a comfortable bed. Apparently they allow pets aa well. I enjoyed my stay. Will book again.

Close to theaters, restaurants walkable ,excellent mid evening eating and bar options in hotel. Breakfast spread was great even though you had to pay. Big rooms comfy bed good shower quiet hallways.

Location was perfect for stay after concert at the National Theater. Many restaurants in the area, and only a few blocks to VCU, where there’s tons of cool stores and coffee shops. Hotel itself was gorgeous and clean. My room was spotless and well equipped— and my daughter and her friend’s room was spectacular (I was a little jealous actually). The ceilings in my daughter’s room were about 15 feet high, and she had a view of the street! Everyone we encountered was helpful and pleasant— thanks for a great stay!

Overall, I really like this property and its vicinity to so many things. The room was large and clean, and Gather and Hem was a great place to unwind at the end of the day. Good cocktails and very nice servers. The breakfast service on Sunday morning was quite slow, but I imagine that is a staffing issue that should be addressed. Otherwise, you could opt for the buffet and avoid any wait times.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent dining experience at Restaurant 1885. From start to finish, it was one frustration after another. To begin, the lobster bisque was absolutely putrid. There is no other word to describe it—it was foul, inedible, and should be immediately taken off the menu. Following that, the mussels I was served were cold, which is both unappetizing and unacceptable, especially for seafood. As if that wasn’t enough, right before packing up my wings, I found a bug casually prancing on my celery sticks. That alone was enough to ruin my appetite completely. To be fair, the waitress was incredibly sweet and professional. She did her best to make up for the situation by removing the bisque from the bill and offering a discount on the wings, which I appreciated. However, her kindness doesn't erase the fact that the food and experience were beyond disappointing. Additionally, I originally came in wanting the prime steak listed on the menu linked via the QR code in the room. Only then was I informed that the menu was outdated and no longer in rotation, and the manager had just received credentials to make updates. Honestly, I could not care less about internal issues—it is not the consumer’s responsibility to navigate your operational disorganization. Bottom line: fix it. Update your menus, ensure food is served fresh and clean, and most importantly, take that bisque off the list before someone else has to endure that mess.

The restaurant for breakfast was poor and staff seemed put out to even provide a table and service. The only friendly staff was the valet. I would expect a much better culture of service. Almost felt like apologizing for even staying there. Worst experience I’ve ever had with Hilton.

I would give the hotel a 9 or 10 out of 10 based on cleanliness, staff, amenities, etc. This is in no way a function or fault of the hotel, and no way they can control this, but it was extremely loud all night as it seemed everyone with a motorcycle or aftermarket exhaust on their car drove back and forth all night. We had a corner suite on the 6th floor so maybe it was the location of our room, but this made our stary less than desirable. It was a Sat night so maybe that lead to it? The hotel is great and if it wasn't for the noise factor I would go back here again and again.

From the minute we arrived the staff was absolutely wonderful. The vallet, the check in staff, the maid service and even the bartender were excellent. Very friendly and the place was clean and updated decor and rooms. I would go back in a minute!

I was disappointed by the fact that there was no coffee in our room. And there was no coffee in the lobby. I had to pay a lot of money to starbucks which I never would otherwise. For such a wonderful, expensive hilton experience, I thought it was terrible that you did not provide coffee

There was a minor problem with the toilet, but it wasn't enough to put in a service call. The plastic nut that holds the handle in the toilet was stripped. We had to remove the toilet lid and flush the toilet by pulling up on the flusher arm. We were only there for a few hours overnight. I advised the clerk at the front desk when we checked out. Everything else, including the people, was excellent.
