Hampton Inn & Suites Cedar Rapids - North

We stayed at the hotel over the Christmas holiday. To my children's dismay the hotel pool was closed for maintanence effective 12/26/22 so they could only use the pool one day during our stay.

This property had a hot tub in pics but no hot tub

Nice stay, everything clean ready. Could use a sign at Rockwell Rd since there are other hotels in close proximity.

Good location (close to major roadways and I-380), easy parking, quiet, clean, affordable, and good breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay, but the pool was closed. All good though because they set up with the neighboring hotel and we were able to use theres.

Property was clean with plenty of parking and easy to locate. Breakfast was what one expects of a continental breakfast, coffee in the lobby was available 24/7 and staff was friendly. However, upon checking in my reservation couldn’t be found. I had confirmation number but apparently the wrong name, and address had been added to reservation. I verified correct information and assumed the record had been corrected. We were told there would be NO housekeeping. Room was clean, beds and pillows were comfy. A weird annoying noise like water running through pipes 24/7 in room. Checking out was easy, getting a receipt for my stay was not. I asked for a receipt three times and each time I was told Expedia would give it to me. I looked at my reservation and it clearly states that property will give receipt. Called Expedia, they did email a receipt with just total cost, no other info, which by the way differed from what I paid. I needed a detailed receipt with property information and in my name so I sent them another request for a receipt. It took a couple of days for a response but I did get a receipt…with all the wrong information!!! I assumed it had been corrected at check in but it wasn’t. I sent another message asking for a corrected receipt and have yet to receive a reply or a receipt. Why is it so hard to get a proper receipt? Will not stay again.

Was put in a room across from the pool and it loud

Put in a handicap room and no idea why. Low bed, low closet and small ironing board were really pretty annoying especially as we could tell hotel was not full. Room was very outdated. No conditioner. Big bottle of shampoo completely empty. Site said there was a hot tub but there wasn’t. Overall very disappointing.

Stayed here 5 nights while helping my daughter settle into her temporary apt for work. Front desk was friendly and helpful, room was clean and spacious. Parking easy. Excersize room clean as well. I didn’t eat breakfast, but there were many options. Only drawback was housekeeping only cleaned my room once. I had to continuously ask for towels, pick up my garbage, etc. didn’t quite understand the lack of housekeeping duties??

The room and dining area were in need of a deep clean. Very dirty. The pool area was clean but no bathroom facilities.

I was Putin a room, that had a bed on a frame and mattress barely off the floor. I was told they were full, but a manager moved me to a normal room with real beds. I still had difficulty getting towels and garbage taken out, basically no service. Myself and another family member complained 3 times until I went to the desk. The nice lady at the desk came to my room and she replaced towels and took the garbage out. I appreciated that, but I shouldn’t have had to beg for service.

Outstanding property, very clean and top notch staff.

We were there and repeatedly asked to have our room serviced. It was serviced only one time in five days

The staff at the front desk were very helpful. The breakfast area was clean and I always appreciate the complimentary breakfast and coffee and hot water for tea etc. The lady working the breakfast area was very polite and helpful. The carpet in my room needed vacuuming. Other than that, the room was clean.

The room was dirty and dusty. The mattress was so poor I left with a backache. And nobody checked the room for the 3 days I stayed there.

Bed was old, squeaky, uncomfortable

I checked in and found that I was in a handicapped accessible room. The bed was basically very near the floor which I understand for those that need this accommodation however I was staying for a week for the funeral of my Mother and it did not work for me or the members of my family that I knew would visit me in my room. I asked Nate at the front desk if I could move rooms and he said no because I booked thru a third party. I begged for an exception, he refused. He did offer me a new room for full price per night. I verified with him that this would be an additional per night on top of what I had already paid for the room. He said yes! He also said this also had to do with the fact that they were booked into the following week. Also.. not true. I finally spoke with Erica who did put me in another room. The other issue is only suites have refrigerators. I have medicine that needs refrigerated so then that became a problem also. She at least offered to put my medicine in a refrigerator that is behind lock and key. That did not sound like a option for me either. A niece finally kept my medicine off property. Day 2 I asked for new towels and for my trash to be emptied. The lady that answered the phone was rude said they only do that every other day. No one at the front desk greeted me coming or going multiple times a day or even seemed polite. Overall a poor experience! Would not stay again.

First off I want to say the room size was fantastic! Really spacious, I loved the set up. It made it much more comfortable for our large family. The rooms were kind of outdated and the beds weren't great, also really creaky. Our shower was out of shampoo, but I had brought some along. overall our stay was good. Receptionist was super friendly. Breakfast was ok.

It was not a good check-in experience. Even though check-in was at 4 and we were there at 4, nobody was at the front desk and there was no bell to ring. When they front desk person came out, someone said something to him, and he started swearing in front of us to himself. He then had a difficult time finding a room for us, even though we paid in advance ( non-refundable ) and reserved a room prior. He gave us a handicap room, which we, which neither of us is/was. I think that it is the first time in staying at a hotel where we didn't have a small fridge and/or microwave in our room ( especially at that price ) The experience has made us make a decision to stay at another hotel in the area the next time around. Thank you.

Around 9 pm it started making noise that sounded like inside of an aquarium. I assume a condenser or something, but quite annoying. Restaurant attendant did great job! Kept tables clean and promptly filled foods.

The room was clean but dated and the room was very noisy. We could hear water draining from other rooms. The shower was not very hot and the bed was uncomfortable creaked every time you moved. Breakfast was good.

The suite we stayed in was HUGE - it was truly as big as my first apartment! Super clean, beds were comfortable and the room was quiet.

Apparently this hotel only has refrigerators in rooms every other floor. They didn’t have any extra to bring in so I. Would recommend bringing a cooler. Otherwise hotel was clean and most employees were very nice. Breakfast was kind of awful but clean and well presented.

Our check-in clerk was very friendly, and the lady who was working at the breakfast buffet was so very friendly and kind to all the customers, especially the children! The room was large and very clean and comfortable.

Very friendly, was able to check in and get our room early. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Would recommend this hotel.

I did not get the room I reserved and paid for and they didn’t have the decency to tell me until I got to the room and call the front desk. Pool area was a disaster, front desk staff unfriendly and breakfast was never kept up and was a total mess.

Very clean, very nice and pleasant staff. We made a mistake on the day and left our things in the room past checkout. They were very understanding. They left everything as it was and waited for us to return. Very kind of them to help us out. Recommend highly.

I like the location since it it close to shopping and access to the interstate is close. I appreciate the free breakfast since many hotels don’t offer it. I love that there is coffee, tea, and hot chocolate offered at the entrance. I also love that bottled water is offered upon check-in. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The young man at the front desk (I apologize for not knowing his name) does an excellent job and is very attentive. He has checked us in with previous stays and consistently does a great job. Our room was very clean as well.

It was easy to get to and just off a major road that could take us quickly to other parts of town. Public spaces were well maintained, and breakfast buffet offered hot, satisfying food options that varied by day.

We had a power outage on the first morning we were there, and staff regularly checked with power company to check status. Nice rooms, even though it is a little older. Close to Panera, Chilis' an amazing Japanese restaurant - Oyama, and 30 Hop, my favorite restaurant during my stay.

We loved the breakfast. Fried bacon, fried potatoes, waffles, pastries, breads, fruit, juices.... The room had nice furnishings. The pillows were very comfortable. Excellent!

Breakfast was very poor. Juice drinks watery. Sausage uneatable. Waffle batter poor taste. Potatoes where dry and hard. At 4:30 am I took my son to airport. When I returned the night person stated they had seen me leave with my friend. This was not my friend or new acquaintance

The property and staff were great. We left early on checkout day and grabbed a “to-go” bag for breakfast. The bagel was so hard it crumbled when we tried to open it. It was wrapped loosely in white paper and I’m sure it was from the day before to be that dried out. Just offering this information so perhaps the practice of providing g yesterday’s bagels can be revisited.
