Absolutely Appalling – Checked Out Without Staying - Hotel still refuses to refund reservation payment. I checked in after 10pm, only to be told by the receptionist that they weren’t even aware of my reservation. After a long wait in a tiny, seatless reception, we were led to a stuffy, dirty room that clearly hadn’t been cleaned — bed linens looked used, the AC was off, and there was a lingering smell of dirt. Asked to change rooms, only to be shown another clearly-used space — bedsheets just straightened, and a leaking AC dripping behind the bed. Totally unacceptable. Yes, the exterior looked okay with a neat lawn, but the rooms were filthy, unprepared, and unfit for paying guests. Worst of all, I had prepaid online and couldn’t get a refund, even though I left without spending the night. Avoid this hotel — they are not ready for guests, and certainly not worth your money.

Stayed 3 nights

This is one of the worst hotels in Ghana. Please avoid Northwold at all costs. Regardless of your situation, do not consider this hotel as an option. We booked three nights, expecting a decent place to rest after a long flight into Ghana. My partner arrived before me and immediately informed me of the issues she encountered. The major problems were: 1. The water was dirty brown and muddy which caused itching. 2. There was no internet for most of the day, despite several complaints. 3. We woke up to a flooded room the next morning. The staff could not locate the source of the leak. 4. The bed and mattress were extremely uncomfortable. 5. The hotel was dusty due to ongoing construction, which had not been disclosed. 6. The breakfast served was inedible and served for 1 instead of 2 which we paid for ( we didn’t eat it though as we were worried about food poisoning) It became evident that my partner and I couldn’t stay there for the remaining two nights. When we informed the manager, they offered to change our rooms (a request my partner had earlier made but they claimed to be fully booked and not able to change the room) but this would not address the underlying problems of water quality and dust. We informed the manager that we would check out that day and requested a refund, she then collected my phone number and promised to get back to us. Unfortunately, nearly two weeks later, we have yet to receive any follow-up. Please avoid this hotel
