A cockroach appeared in the shower. Washed it down the drain but it kept returning. Found a second (dead) roach on the floor next to the bed. When we used all the bath towels on the second day of our stay, received one more towel from the front desk but only after considerable back and forth with staff reluctant to provide it (we were expected to keep using the same towels).

All the proposed rooms were smelling cigarette, even the one that were supposed to be non smoking. The bed cover were stained and looks dirty.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was disappointing. The cleanliness was poorly maintained. there were visible signs of neglect, and I encountered cockroaches in the room. The atmosphere outside the hotel was unsettling, with groups of people loitering near the entrance all hours of the night which made me feel uncomfortable. Additionally, my room wasn’t being cleaned until after I checked in, that was around 7pm. I ask for a refund but was denied. I wouldn’t recommend this property based on my experience.

New owners! The room I had was spotless and in great condition. I was surprised, I've stayed in the Quality inn and super 8 in Harrisburg, this room was hands down better! Nice couple bought it, very hospitable and super friendly!

started out seeing a mouse just outside the check in area should of known then to go somewhere else. There were bugs in the room mostly dead ones so housecleaning needs to look closer than they did to clean the room. Live roach at one point major yuck! Towels were small and cheap for sure. Left to go out half the day came back to the fact they came in to turn down the beds with all our stuff in the room plus they opened the drapes half way as this is there signal to finish cleaing something else in the room. Was not happy that people walking by could see we had things out in our room not a good idea plus they took the towels and had not replaced them! Manager said we should of put the sign out on our doors Well there wasn't a sign to do that! So gave us one too late at that point! Would not stay here again --- just a Motel if you want one of those to stay at NO THANK YOU!

This is an old hotel with the entrance doors facing the parking lot. The hotel room was clean but room amenities were dated. There aren't many choices for hotels in this town.

The couple who owns it were very welcoming and check in was smooth. We could tell that they have made a lot of upgrades/renovation and everything was clean. The only complaint was the air-conditioning struggled to keep the room very cool even at max all night. To be fair the heat index was over 100° during the day!

I stayed 5 nights. The accommodations were comfortable. I had a king size bed, couch, and a chair. I was even able to bring my family over to relax in the room during the day. I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly, and the managers/owners of the hotel were awesome.

The room was great! The Staff was terrible! I asked the manager if he could ask his wife to stop calling me "honey" and he made an unbelievable issue out of this! I am going through a divorce and I made him aware of this and asked him to ask his wife to stop calling ne "honey"! And he made an unbelievable issue out of this! Obviously, they are not very educated and do not understand why this might be offensive. "I would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel" under any circumstances!!!

Nice place. The staff is friendly, but no one is available at the front desk before 9. The breakfast is what you’d expect; cereal, fruit, tea, coffee, toast and bagels. The room has a refrigerator, which was convenient, but I had to defrost the freezer so I could re-freeze the ice packs for my cooler. Several restaurants within walking distance, including a pizza place across the street and Morello’s two blocks away. Short drive to chain restaurants.

Got to the motel at approximately 8:30 pm. The room was not ready and they did not even know if they had the room we paid for. I was told the website was selling more rooms than they had available. After a lengthy wait we were given the card key to the room but were told there were no towels in the room. Someone would bring them in about an hour. 90 minutes later, I called the front office to get them. After a long day, we were looking forward to a shower and sleep. The hairdryer did not work. Had to call to get a working hairdryer. Picked up the phone to call the front office and the cord for the receiver popped right out of the phone. I had to hold it in to make the call. At that, the call was cut off because it would not keep a connection. The room was clean. No coffee. They did give us to complimentary waters.

While our arrival was nice and the owner was friendly and courteous we left not feeling that way. We are traveling across the country and needed a good nights sleep. We listened to a remodeling project going on until 9:45 pm directly in front of our room. When I called the desk and complained they came right away and had them stop. We decided to check out the next morning and cut our stay short due to the noise not being sure it would not happen again the next day. Also while checking out there was a big at the door I’m pretty certain it was a roach but of course they called it a beatle. When hotels.com called to refund our unused nights stay they were snarky and would not honor the credit. I guess they needed the money that badly. Town is basically abandoned. There was however a very good restaurant Morellos. They have a vast menu and very good food.

This place exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly and checked the room for cleanliness prior to us settling in. They brought fresh towels each day. The king bed was super comfortable. The location was excellent. A short drive to Aldi, restaurants, and cvs. Short walk to all your espresso needs at Steam Cafe.

Seems to be a lot of sketchy looking people hanging around. Not sure why the police showed up at about 8:30pm but that didn’t feel right. We ended up driving to a hiking trail and stayed in our van and just used the room to hang out in the heat and take a shower.

Echo and the male staff member at the service desk were really nice and polite! The room was very clean and the location of the place in Harrisburg is great! If you’re going to Shawnee, consider this place to stay.

Nice place. The staff is friendly, but no one is available at the front desk before 9. The breakfast is what you’d expect; cereal, fruit, tea, coffee, toast and bagels. The room has a refrigerator, which was convenient, but I had to defrost the freezer so I could re-freeze the ice packs for my cooler. Several restaurants within walking distance, including a pizza place across the street and Morello’s two blocks away. Short drive to chain restaurants.

Got to the motel at approximately 8:30 pm. The room was not ready and they did not even know if they had the room we paid for. I was told the website was selling more rooms than they had available. After a lengthy wait we were given the card key to the room but were told there were no towels in the room. Someone would bring them in about an hour. 90 minutes later, I called the front office to get them. After a long day, we were looking forward to a shower and sleep. The hairdryer did not work. Had to call to get a working hairdryer. Picked up the phone to call the front office and the cord for the receiver popped right out of the phone. I had to hold it in to make the call. At that, the call was cut off because it would not keep a connection. The room was clean. No coffee. They did give us to complimentary waters.

It is an older property, so it looks a bit dated/worn on the outside. But, the rooms have been remodeled with tile and vinyl floors (no nasty carpet, yay!) and the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Fridge, microwave, and flat screen TV (with DirectTV) all appeared fairly new and all were in good working order. Free breakfast is what used to be called "continental" and included coffee, tea, juice (apple & orange), variety of cereals, bagels & toast, apples, oranges, granola bars, yogurt, applesauce. Wifi available but somewhat spotty, which was noted by the staff at check-in. Did not cause a problem for me, but I was there for leisure not business. Very close to Shawnee National Forest. Great value for the price, and I would definitely stay here again if visiting the area!

Coffe was a bit cold but good. Warmed it in the microwave. Excellent food choices for a continental breakfast. Bed was nice , room clean but bathroom door wouldn’t close properly. All together still a good stay.

My husband and kids stayed for one night at this motel. When we checked in, they realized that they did not have a double bed room ready for us, because they had an unexpected group of people purchase a block of rooms the same night. However, the owner was extremely apologetic and made things right. They quickly cleaned a double bed room for us and ensured there were extra amenities including a coffee maker with supplies and a breakfast basket. Honestly, the room was better than some hotels that I've stayed at before. The room was very clean and had a mini fridge, microwave, and nice mattresses. It seemed like the room had been recently renovated because the flooring, paint, and other details were in excellent condition. We would for sure stay again and recommend! PS - when looking at reviews online for motels/hotels, be sure to use a site that is connected to actual stay. My understanding is that anyone can leave a review on sites like Google, so the reviewer may not have actually stayed at the location.
