Pool and Jacuzzi need some attention. Jacuzzi was too cold, the drain vent missing it's top and cut my foot, I know how vital reviews are so I won't make this too critical. But the pool was dirty and Jacuzzi faded with a temperature much like a Luke warm bath. The rooms service breakfast and all else were in alignment with Hampton standard just very upset with the swimming arrangement and Jacuzzi as I booked primarily for those features

Pool and hot tub were 70-72 degrees. Pool in desperate need of resurfacing. Booked for specific purpose of swimming with kids and it was too cold to get in enjoyably considering recommended temp is 78-85. Front desk stated they could provide partial refund and after waiting 10 days they stated this was not possible after 2 conversations stating it would be. No signage or warning anywhere of non functioning facilities. Hair ball in the bathroom and shower with standing water that wouldn't drain. Breakfast and kitchen staff were very nice and attentive.

Came here to ride the bike path along New River. The hotel staff was friendly, the breakfast included all the usual options. The gym felt really small and the pool seemed to not have proper ventilation. The room had the usual conveniences.

Stayed here for a few nights to break up a road trip. Room was clean and comfortable. Used the gym which had a reasonable range of equipment. Breakfast was nice, there was a good range of foods and included fruit. Parking was good and easy to sort out. 2 minor downsides - 1) everything at breakfast was individually wrapped. As an international traveller the sheer quantity of plastic is odd but is not a complaint limited to this hotel. 2) We would have preferred to have walked out for dinner but again most places were a drive away.

The room and the staff were excellent!! Our room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom was big and very nice! That being said we drove from Florida to this hotel and we picked it because it had a hot tub. The pool/ hot tub area was awful. It was so hot you couldn’t breathe. The pool and hot tub are stained with what looks like rust. The hot tub was not hot. We didn’t use it because the condition was so poor.

Hampton Inns are usually good but I now know that it depends on the location owner. There was no AC due to a lightning strike but it only affected certain rooms. They didn't tell us anything about it. We were there for awhile, then complained about the temperature. The clerk said it was an act of God and "that's what you get in Appalachia." We had to go to Walmart to get a fan. Nothing was offered and we were told that we might get a refund but it depends on whether the insurance company decides to offer it. An elderly couple on the fourth floor had to carry their suitcases up to the fourth floor. The clerk told us ALL the rooms were out. Only some were out. Overall, nothing was offered to help with the situation. Also, my son's room had a stained bed skirt with a chicken bone under it.

There were bugs (not bedbugs) in our bed. My grandson was petrified but we worked through it. I ended up going to another motel for the second night of our stay in the area and was greeted more warmly than at Hampton and the other motel was CLEAN. The manager was the rudest motel manager I have ever experienced when I talked to her about another issue. She was curt, uncaring and just seemed like she hated her job! I would be afraid to ever try another Hampton at this point.

The hotel desperately needs to be renovated. The rooms are small and very dowdy - orange, brown and dark reds! Also the mattress was very hard - certainly not a pillow top. I was looking forward to using the hot tub and swimming pool but not only was the hot tub grimy (not sure when it was last cleaned) but the temperature of the water was less than 70F. The swimming pool had big brown stains on the bottom of it - less than inviting. I returned to my room and had a hot shower instead. On the positive side - the breakfast selection was very good. I have always chosen to stay at Hampton Inns when travelling through the US because of their high quality but this particular hotel was a complete disappointment.

I would say 'beware'. It seems that this property has regular occupants on the whole top floor who are 'workers'. They came back from work around 9 p.m. and we had people above us who kept us awake with thumping, jumping, noise, etc. We asked to have our room changed, but there apparently were no rooms which didn't have these construction workers on the floor above. Plus, the manager said that his 'boss' wouldn't let him move us. We have never had this happen at any hotel, Hampton Inn or otherwise, before, where we could'nt be moved. Therefore we cannot really give this property a good rating.

The hotel was off the interstate so very quiet and a quick trip to Creek Bottom Brewery, whi h we highly recommend, and a great place to stop before traveling on to Raeford, NC to vacation with the kids and Granddaughter! Will definitely stay here again and visit Creek Bottom for dinner!

The hotel was off the interstate so very quiet and a quick trip to Creek Bottom Brewery, whi h we highly recommend, and a great place to stop before traveling on to Raeford, NC to vacation with the kids and Granddaughter! Will definitely stay here again and visit Creek Bottom for dinner!

Stayed here for a few nights to break up a road trip. Room was clean and comfortable. Used the gym which had a reasonable range of equipment. Breakfast was nice, there was a good range of foods and included fruit. Parking was good and easy to sort out. 2 minor downsides - 1) everything at breakfast was individually wrapped. As an international traveller the sheer quantity of plastic is odd but is not a complaint limited to this hotel. 2) We would have preferred to have walked out for dinner but again most places were a drive away.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Galax after a long bicycle ride on the New River State Park trail from Pulaski, VA. The facility was very clean. front desk staff was welcoming, and breakfast the next morning was one of the best we've had at a Hampton Inn property. I would highly recommend this Hampton Inn if you were just passing through Galax or needing a place to rest tired legs after a long ride on the New River State Park trail.

Check was super fast no issues less than 3 mins. The rooms spacious and loved the jet tube perfect for sore body after 5hr drive. The breakfast was absolutely great just a huge variety

It’s being remodeled. Many workmen there. The lobby smells very moldy. Very very moldy . Toilets are way tooo tooo low. Need higher toilets. Pool was hot if you like it hot. Breakfast was really good. Coffee was really good. Mattresses very comfy

This was just supposed to be a quick pit stop on the way to South Carolina. It is a bit off of 77 but what a fantastic stay!!! We often stay at the Hampton Inn but this one was great. Check in was friendly and easy. The room was clean, beds and pillows were comfortable and the pool and hot tub were very nice. Loved the extra USB plugs on the nightstand. Breakfast was exceptional. Susan, the staff member taking care of the breakfast buffet, hosted like we were at her house. The food was wonderful. My daughter said, "Wow, they put out a spread.". The dining area was very nice and comfortable. The toiletries were also exceptional. I used the body lotion that smelled wonderful. I had two people ask what I was wearing. Had to laugh when I replied, "Hotel lotion." My only disappointment was that the freezer in the room didn't work. We put frozen food and ice packs in the freezer but they were melted by morning. If we didn't have a schedule to keep, we would have stayed an extra day. This is now our going to be our official layover place.
