Parking is a problem

No more than a 2 or 3 star. Elevator is not reliable.

The hotel have some rehabilitation work from inside and the elevator not working .. the staff is really nice and welcoming

The hotel is under renovation and the elevator is out so you have to use the stairs it’s very mess

The room had NO heat. We froze for two nights. The carpets are old and filthy. They don't remove garbage out of the foyer garbage can and all you can smell is garbage. The rooms were old, dirty, dusty and we slept with our clothes on. Parking is a disaster. We drove around every night for 1.5 hrs looking for a spot. Finally parked blocks away and then had to wake up at 7:30 am to move it. Would NOT recommend. Location is great and close to restaurants but everything closed at 10.

Comfortable stay with exceptional staff. The breakfast was pretty good. The only issue is the elevator was not working for the last week.

The property is under construction so it wasn’t on the best shape when we stayed. I imagine once renovations are done it will be nice.

The hotel was conveniently located near the Verrazano Bridge and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. While the hotel has no parking of their own, there is a reasonably price parking lot down the street. Guest services was very pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable and the shower was amazing. The hotel certainly fulfilled the need during a short visit.

The front desk staff were excellent. The breakfast was plentiful and varied. The bathroom needed a paint job though was nice and clean. The biggest issue is the difficulty in parking, especially that the hotel website advertises valet parking when there is none. There is some street parking and a municipal garage a short walk away.

I’ve stayed here before and had great experiences! This last visit however, the room just didn’t meet those expectations as it was not throughly cleaned. There was hair left in the shower and on the bathroom door, as well as a towel that was stained. Our smoke detector was also covered in some kind of paper (tissue paper I would assume) and our shower did not work properly. The water kept repeatedly shutting off and the temperature was either ice cold or scalding hot- nothing in between. Maintenance was sent up to look at it but it was still having issues the following day.

Unfortunately very expensive for old shower towels, bed sheet and filthy carpet all around the entire hotel! Disgusting. I hate this hotel and for sure I will never get back!

It was the worse hotel that I've been in. Very dirty room, hallway and elevator. The room smelled so bad. The cleaning staff came the second day and eventually left dirty towels and used the same sheets. They did not clean the desk or the bathroom. I talked to the front desk and the guy said that he will have the manager calling me but the manager didn't. I was referred by the teacher that i was taking her class so I was telling her and other students heard me and said the same thing. The teacher said that she will definitely take them off her list. I pretty much was miserable the whole time and disgusted. I feel that they should contact me and giving me my money back. I will never recommend the hotel to anyone. Property was very dirty. Several guests complained about bed bugs and had pictures to support their complaint. Horrible experience.

The hotel was a bit run down. The room was fine but the carpet is in need of a shampoo - it was dirty and a little damp. The shower pressure was nonexistent and the shower gel dispenser was empty. The hotel didn’t offer coffee unless it was 7am and didnt have a coffee pot in the room.

The hotel felt a bit rundown. The elevator was really slow and the interior looked shabby. The room was spacious but the bathroom door wouldn’t lock which wasn’t good especially since I had my daughters with me. I felt like I had no privacy. Some of the sockets in the room were damaged. The air conditioner was situated by the window and the air kept blowing behind the curtains which was odd and meant we had to factor that into how we regulated the temperature. The breakfast was ok. I guess you get what you pay for. Had little interaction with staff. The black male receptionist seemed friendly. The others not so much. The cleaners also seemed friendly but didn’t tidy our room thoroughly each day which I’m not sure if they were scheduled to or not. However, that would have added a nice touch to the experience. The kitchen staff didn’t smile throughout our stay which made me feel uneasy and like they weren’t approachable. For a budget hotel it was ok but not one I’m going to be in a hurry to stay in again.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly welcoming and professional, the rooms were spotless and well-appointed, and the location couldn't have been more convenient—close to public transport, and key attractions. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like toiletries. Breakfast was fresh and varied, and the common areas were quiet and well maintained. The only downside was the Wi-Fi, which was not available for all customers. It was so frustrating. For a hotel that gets everything else right, I hope they invest in improving this aspect soon—especially for guests who need to work or stream. Overall, I’d happily stay again. Just be prepared to use mobile data if reliable internet is a must

My room was clean and spacious by NY standards, daily room service was much appreciated. Very good value for the price. Downers - street noise, TV remote worked poorly (reported - not fixed), limited hot water for one day.

There was a lot of floor squeaking noise while walking in the room and not only in my room but also in the rooms above me which was very disturbing and kept me awake until 3 AM since the guest(s) above my room were walking and I was hearing every single step.

Great hotel in a great location. Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy to tell that the hotel's pretty old and starting to get outdated.

Stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. It was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was really good. It was also relatively quiet considering it’s right on the main road and the subway runs under it. But If you are staying in the area I would highly recommend but if you are travelling to manhattan it takes a long time on the train!

The location is excellent, just a short walk to 86th Street, which offers plenty of shops and dining options. The hotel's proximity to the R line on 86th Street is convenient, as it's literally across the road. The room was satisfactory, albeit a bit small, with minimal space between the end of the bed and the TV stand/dresser. The bathroom, on the other hand, was pleasantly spacious with a large walk-in shower. Unfortunately, the fridge was quite loud, which was bothersome when trying to sleep. The walls are thin, allowing for clear sound transmission from adjacent rooms, and the floorboards above were extremely creaky. Additionally, there was a person above us who seemed to be moving around at odd hours of the night, although their activities were unclear. Due to a flight delay, we requested a check-out extension, but were only granted an additional 30 minutes. While I understand that hotels aren't obligated to provide extensions, it would have been appreciated if they had offered a longer one, especially considering the room wasn't scheduled for immediate rebooking, as confirmed by the receptionist's suggestion that we could pay for an extra night. Tip: The air conditioning controls are located underneath the lid of the radiator near the window, which took us two days to discover as there were no signs indicating their location.

Horrible hotel, nasty sheets, it was 95f and the AC did not function, horrible service

Front reception staff very rude and unprofessional. There was no HEAT whatever when we stayed in early march when it was particularly frigid outside. Paying over $200 a night n freeze, that is unacceptable..never again

This property cost me precious time with my family and new grandchild because they bumped my reservation by emailing me at 5:58 pm on day of reservation, supposedly because the room was damaged. As there was a massive youth group there I am assuming that they gave my reserved reservation . With nothing but a sign present at the very busy lobby stating “ be back in 10 minutes “ on company letterhead. I waited 10 , then another ten , and sometime after that a person with the hotel entered , accepted my ID and card and immediately was called on to provide a key for another person. After that she nicely informed me that my room was damaged. And an email had been sent. Having not seen the Email from moments ago that took me by surprise. The clerk sent us to a really sketchy Laquita across town in a Uber they provided and paid for . The clerk when she could get back to the desk was very accommodating and apologetic and I felt it was genuine. Anyway, this place needs some respect for customer needs . You never know wat they are . Front desk staff was amazing. Only issue was having to ask 3 times for extra amenities. Front desk ended up handing to me in person since house keeping did not show up.

The actual facility is okay but the guy who checked us in was horrible!!! At 6:30 pm our room was not ready, we paid for valet parking and when we got back to the hotel T 11:30 pm the same guy said that he forgot to mention to us that valet closes at 11:00pm and that we need to find a parking spot on the street (which was impossible) and was not willing to help I asked what am I supposed to do with my car if it gets towed? He said “I don’t know” What an awful experience we had.

3:00pm check in and room was ready after 5:00pm. The front desk speak broken English and ask me to pay 2 hundred because they didn't get any funds from me I told him I have already paid and I won't pay another cent. He finally give in and i went to my. The next day i did my business came back 6pm the room was never clean and there were no maids service. I was too tired so i have my rest . just don't want any argument . Oh, there are very active subway runs underground and vibrant every 15 minutes. So if you no problem with these issues, go a head and pay premium price and stay. I won't recommend this place.

On our arrival we were greeted by Greg who was absolutely awesome! He checked he was friendly, courteous, and made sure that we would have everything and be well taken care of, which we were. Loved it in Brooklyn, first time in New York would stay here again definitely. Jenny, in the morning she took care of us friendly and courteous as well.

All office staff were friendly, kind & professional. All staff members, including Housekeeping & Breakfast Attendant(s), greeted me with a smile; respectful to me. I could tell everyone was compassionate about their jobs & enjoyed being at work for my entire stay. My stay was for 8 days/7 nights & we were really comfortable. A good enough hotel if you're only stopping a few nights. Room was quite large and has a fridge and microwave. Coffee making facilities too. Carpets in the hall way need replacing, a few dirty marks. Overal a decent hotel and location to the subway is only 2-3 minutes walk away.

The Best Western Gregory is a good hotel in a nice area. We were visiting Brooklyn for a concert and were happy to find this hotel was within walking distance to shopping, food (grab a slice of pizza at Mancini's and thank me later) and the subway. There were so many great places within a few blocks and the area felt safe even when walking at night. Hotel staff were friendly and check-in was a breeze. Our room was clean and we were pleased to see it was a decent size and there was a closet and a refrigerator. We would stay again when visiting Brooklyn or Manhattan.

The hotel is convenient close to the metro station, buses , restaurants, fast food chains and convenience stores. You will have daily hot breakfast that will help you to save some money. The hotel is not close to Manhattan, but the nightly rate compensate this fact if your budget is tight.

We love to stay here when we visit. It’s walking distance to our family and friends. Great location.

Stayed here twice now and really enjoyed my stay! Little far from the manhattan for the price but it was still very easy to get to the subway!

Best area around Brooklyn. The environment is amazing. Location is great. Train station is a block away.

The hotel is very old now and needs updating, carpets need cleaning or replacing, the bedsheets were never changed even though we requested for them to be replaced, the breakfast was very poor very little choice, or freshness of pastry ‘s

Room 301 was big and fairly quiet for NYC. It was clean. Check in was easy. I was lucky enough to find street parking just a few steps from the entrance. Across the street was Ay Kebab -Turkish restaurant with excellent food and service. Subway is right next to the hotel also. Recommend!

The place a good value for your money it’s right outside the subway, 2 mins walk so it’s excellent for that. The place it’s self seems pretty clean and good atmosphere. So I would recommend and use it again for sure

The property itself was not very clean. Elevator looks like it has never been vacuumed. Bed and pillows was comfy. The area around offered some nice restaurants on 3rd ave. Front desk staff was not very friendly. Breakfast was awful. Only reason for 3 stars was because of places to walk and go to around the area. Felt fairly safe.

We really liked the hotel, it was clean, the rooms were cleaned every day, there was a good quick breakfast, the hotel was near the metro and that was important for us.

The hotel was great, but the breakfast was awful, the food is nasty.

This was a well-priced hotel in a decent neighborhood. Their staff was very friendly and personable (including the late-nite staff) and the breakfast offerings were in a nice, clean and spacious room with good furniture and a great selection (above average), including authentic New York style bagels.

Breakfast was a mess (no water, no milk, no bread), from my room I could hear all the noises from other rooms and there was a small cockroach in the bathroom. Neighborhood was nice.

Good evening the stay was good, the staff was good and respectful. Only one thing i had a problem with and it was the breakfast. The breakfast can be better, there were no fruits, the eggs and sausages were cold. Thats my only issue

It was a quick check in, breakfast included , comfortable beds, clean - huge bathrooms, cold a/c and hot showers. Also super close to the R train —- what else can you ask for?
