The town is heavily influenced by the Georgian and Victorian periods and there is a delightful park and brook running through the centre of town. Don't forget your camera as you'll find rare black swans and other wildlife to photograph. The town's railway station is nearby, with good public transport links. The historic line runs along the seafront and next to the sandy beach. Dawlish is a popular choice for train spotters and photographers hoping to catch a glimpse of the waves crashing over the exposed coastal route.
