Pet Friendly, Resort Access, Private! - Catahoula Cabin by Carolina Properties

We enjoyed our time together. It was perfect for our family. I took the dog and the walk to the end of the road was easy for us. We went downstairs to see what was there and found a fun game room. They had everything for all ages!

Sorry to say...this property needs many repairs and updates. Our family has utilized VRBO and Airbnb for approximately 25 years. Catahoula Cabin was NOT bright inside as pictures, (particularly the kitchen area), it was very dim even with all lights on. Several pieces of furniture need replacing as well. The garbage was left behind from the previous renters for 6 days (both barrels) when it was 90-94 degrees outside, quite smelly! Although the agent tried several times to get it removed it was on Thursday night when it was taken away. Our own garbage was stored in the basement as a bear had come around a couple of nights to "toss and bite" the trash cans. The grass was not close to being cut, and the upstairs AC vents did not put out any cool air, thus comfortable downstairs and miserably hot upstairs in the bedrooms. Several other issues but I think you get the point. I can honestly say, this is the first time I ever responded to a "review" as I have never had a problem in 25 or so years. Finely, I can report that Rumbling Bald Resort and facilities was awesome. Our family managed to have a great time just the same.

If you’re vacationing on Lake Lure, we highly recommend that you stay here! You get the best of both worlds… a private cabin in the woods surrounded by nature to relax and disconnect and then access to Rumbling Bald where we enjoyed the pool, beach, restaurant and miniature golf. Our family of four made so many incredible memories here, and we hope to return someday!
