This property was extremely run down. This property was covered in piles of bicycle parts, homeless people loitering in parking lot and outside rooms. The room smelled very strong of cigarettes. Smoking inside apparently is common there as I saw people walking in and out of rooms with lit cigarettes. Contacted Expedia for a refund because my children have asthma. Requested a refund from the owners. The owners state they need Expedia to call them so they can allow the refund, however the owner hangs up every time an agent attempts contact. The owner demanded a cash deposit and stated I don’t get the deposit back if I get more than 2 warnings? This place was super seedy. They advertise a pool and a bar. There was neither pool nor bar, just a bunch of homeless people smoking cigarettes and taking residence with government vouchers. Stay far far away.

No ice machine, no hangers. I get it its cheap, but no ice machine? And hotel description said "pool bar". Beware no pool and no bar.

"Door bell" is a loud, screeching alarm. I'm sure it must wake the other guests. Room smells of old tobacco. Our room #3 has a kitchen with food from the stove splashed on the refrigerator. Filthy! The bed had a lump in the middle. Exploration found a cigarette lighter under the mattress pad. The mattress was uncomfortable Not our idea of "Paradise!"

Bad area. Lamps were broken and lightbulbs caked with burnt dust. Not worth the price.

Check in was not user friendly with unhelpful staff. The room itself had filthy unwashed floors and old stained furniture in the room.

Shower didn't work properly. Smelled like mold in bathroom. Wood molding missing from bathroom. Cops in parking lot for 2 hours detaining/ arresting people.

Good for the price. More on the basic side but everything waa great! AC worked perfectly!

They have a lot of reviews but I could tell you one thing my experience a plus I love the staff everything about it is good big TVs excellent and it's quiet microwave refrigerator overall I like it I sleep all night I highly recommend this hotel

Overall, it offered everything I was looking for at a reasonable price- full kitchen with full size fridge and cook top stove w/oven, microwave and sink. The AC worked well and it was an 8min walk from the conference I was attending. The hotel does ask for a $50 cash deposit on top of your lodging fee. As far as cleanliness in the room, it could have been cleaner, but the bed was comfortable and water was hot, so I can overlook that. I'd deffintely reccommend The Palace Inn Oxnard if you're traveling on a budget and saving money on dining in.

The place was fine, sheets were clean but the whole cleanliness of the room was not perfect and the microwave oven and ref. were old. Overall, I'll rate the room a 6.

Bad service, old bed and furniture wifi doesn’t work, rude staff

It was not what it was advertised to be a kitchenette and it was not and the bed was so uncomfortable i slept in my truck i could of saved the money i spent on the room

I arrived at midnight, rang the buzzer several times, and no one answered. I therefore had to find a different hotel in the middle of the night at twice the price.

I am really not sure how to express my experience with this property but will do my best to put everything. Checkin ———— - When we reached he asked for the identification card and CC. After everything verified he gave me a paper where I need to fill my personal details. When I asked like what is this for, the first thing he asked me is, are you first time staying in a hotel. In Room Experience —————————— - We entered the room, and it was terrible smoking smell and when we told him about the smell, he is aggressively denied. When my wife asked for a room freshener, he denied to give that as well. - All the towels are smelly and not cleaned properly. - Basic and kitchen sink water was not flowing. - Toilet flush was not working. - There was no ion in the room and when we asked for that he denied to give. - Not even a single basic stuff inside the kitchen, when we asked for some pots and pans for us to cook, he got angry and denied to give us as well. Behavior ———— - My son went and asked for help about the kitchen water is blocked, his wife started shouting at my son. - My wife went and asked for about the kitchen sink water is blocked and we can not cook or clean stuff. He and his wife started arguing with her and he used bad words for me wife. - when I reached and asked about the incident, he called police which is true or false I don’t know because he was inside the office and did not let us come in. When asked him when cop is coming, he disconnected my call

A/C unit barely operable, no ability to hold bags before 3:00 checkin.

I stay here almost everytime I am in town. The owners treat me great and the rooms are nice and quiet. I wake at 0330 for work so sleeping early with quiet surroundings is a must for me. Thank you TJ

Very rude management!

Very unfriendly front staff person, asked if could check in early he replied with a very harsh impolite answer. I ended uo canceling as the whole area felt unsafe and the rooms did not look nice.

The property needs some major updating of fixtures. The floors were not clean and the bedsheets had stains. The doorframe in the bathroom had water damage, the fridge had rust on the metal hinges. The staff came through wnen the toilet would not fill its tank after flushing by replacing the part that needed to be removed even though it was 9PM.

I was glad that there was a grocery store nearby and with the reservation the check in was quick and easy. Thank you, Palace for a job well done.

This was a nice quaint Motel within the heart of Oxnard. It was close to all things in town.

I made the mistake of reserving a room here for a trip I was taking with a buddy. We needed a reasonably priced room in Oxnard for one night. I reserved a room with two queen beds. When I arrived I was told that they had no rooms with two queen beds and that they only had King size beds. The first question the manager asked me was "do you want the room for the whole night?" I knew this was a bad place, the area is not good around the hotel. It looked like it was a drugs and hookers kind of hotel. I asked for a refund and they said that Hotels.com charged my card and to go to them. I contacted Hotels.com and they confirmed Palace Inn charged my card. Never go here.

this place was absolutely terrible and not as advertised. the room smelled like cigarettes, the parking lot was filled with sketchy activity, and many of the residents in the rooms seemed to have been living there for weeks. there was junk and garbage from the street everywhere in the parking lot. the staff was extremely unpleasant and when i brought up how uncomfortable and unsatisfied i felt with the room, they said “well you only paid x amount, what do you expect.” it was inhumane and i ended up not staying in the room. when asked if i could receive a least a portion of what i paid back, since all i did was check in and informed staff i wouldn’t be staying in the room, they completely refused. this place needs to be shut down and condemned.
