(Pros) Room was very spacious, bright, clean and tidy overall, I stayed on the 18/F this time and the huge window has a unobstructed view looking over the nearby public park, sports ground, swimming pool and neighbourhood in general. Nearest residential blocks were at the Kingswood Villa which was at least 500m away so privacy was not an issue at all. I actually had the curtains opened wide all night and enjoyed looking at the evening nightscape! The floor I was on has been pretty quiet in general, bed and bedding was clean and comfortable, so I have had a good night's sleep. The premise was attached to a vibrant medium-sized shopping mall where I found plenty of good quality eateries (and a multi-screens cinema too). (Cons) The room, and the hotel as a whole, was obviously very dated and in much need for a renovation. There were scratch marks on the walls inside my room. The cabinets/cupboards have creaky doors and gave a staled smell when opened. The toilet seat looked like it has been scrubbed down with steelwool for years (which it probably has). I've seen better maintained toilet seats in public washrooms. Check-in and check-out was very efficient and staff who I came across were polite and courteous. This is the fourth time I stayed at Harbour Plaza Resort City. I usually come here for the annual 10K race where the starting line is only 1.5 km from the hotel. Will I come here again? Without better choices nearby I probably would.
