The staff were ok, but 2 of them told me the pool was open and it wasn't, there was no breakfast and I had to clean the tub and coffee machine myself because it was not clean at all. I checked out a day early because i was uncomfortable and somebody set the fire alarm off and scared my baby.

Ac not working / tv had to be rebooted in order to work. NO pool !!! Bed was terrible. I checked out as fast as I checked in. I DO NOT WANt to see a charge on my card for this hotel.

picked out an overnight stay on Hotels.com, upon booking recieved a notice that the pool was closed..... It's august my friends. a simple dip in the pool is priceless. bad business Candlewood, wouldn['t let me out of my stay or any refund. just stopped taking calls.

The staff was exceptional with a refund from a 3rd party vendor due to reduction in our stay. Overall hotel was clean & comfortable but disappointed pool/hot tub not operating & no ice in room - ice maker not working.

It was conveniently located to our venue, easy to get around. Staff from arrival to departure was very friendly, accommodating and personable. Only downside was pool was running and water clear but not available for use!

My room was filthy. Black mold all around the tube. Filthy carpet that turned my socks black. Management does not dust or sweep the rooms. The room stank, the carpet was filthy and the mold in the bathroom was disgusting.

This property is disgusting. I would never stay there again. I actually am pissed off that I even paid my room had coffee all over the back of the door. The counters and cabinets had oil stuck all over them. There was women’s hair in the shower soap from a bar of soap, dried up and caked in the soap tray Floors were filthy stuff under the bed. Things removed from the wall patched not painted not sanded just big white blotches.

I've stayed in other Candlewood Suites before. Never had experienced such a smelly, dirty, mismanaged place. Mold around bathtub food particles on top of refrigerator, smeers on television dust on things.

Nothing felt clean. The exterior looks rundown-nothing like the online photo. Bathroom in the lobby had a broken door handle so it doesn’t even lock. Room smelled musty and was not clean. There were pieces of dog food in the bathroom-so clearly people before us had a dog in there (a dog presence was not an issue for me), but it also meant the housekeeping of the bathroom was less than thorough. The floor was gross so I wore flip flops the entire time. There were stains on the sheets so I just had to self-medicate and go to bed and know I was out of there in the morning! Bathroom walls and door gross-can they be wiped down every once in awhile?? I will not stay here again.

We always check for cleanliness before we take our bags in (in case of bed bugs). There were no bugs but the room was dirty. Found a crusty sock under the mattress. Food wrappers were under the beds. The trash cans had stuck food under the liners. The floor had lots of hair and crumbs on the carpet. The bathroom had patch work jobs not repainted and torn up trim with mildew/moldy caulk. The ceiling over the kitchenette was greasy with dust and cobwebs. We felt gross staying there.

Overnight on the way to Washington DC. I can’t get over how dirty the room was. Toothpaste on the bathroom sink and what looked like blood splatter on the door. Upon check in, the staff member at the desk was pleasant, but smelled horribly of body odor. The hallways and elevators also had a bad odor, it was worse on the 3rs floor where our room was located. When entering our room, the floors around the edges of the kitchen had crumbs and dirt, trash under the bed and chair. The toilet wobbled when sat on. The windows were filthy. I wasn't happy, but the room was paid for and non-refundable. The final straw was on our second night, while getting ready to leave for dinner, a cockroach was crawling up the wall of the kitchen area and in behind the microwave. I alerted the front desk and they suggested we speak with the manager in the morning, which we did. We are supposed to be getting some type of discount refunded to us, but haven't seen anything yet. If you don't mind affordable and grody, this is the place for you. I will not be staying here again.

I only like to stay in hotels that have the doors open on the inside of the building so it satisfied that requirement. It's a glorified basic hotel with no breakfast. It had the pool and all that, didn't use it but looked clean. The front clerk was very nice. One thing I really disliked are the doors for the rooms. Generally I find most hotels have some kind of sound proofing or weather guard type thing or at least some thought put into the door. My door had a big gap under it and I could basically hear everything happening in the hallway, and front desk. I was near it. Thank god I had quiet neighbors but if you didn't you'd really be quiet pissed I'd imagine. Room was clean, set up in suite style, very limited plates and cups, don't expect to serve a full dinner. Old tv that wasn't even hooked up, had to do it myself. A lot of channels with the direct tv though! I paid very cheap $80 to stay... wouldn't pay anymore. I generally loathe the state of Pennsylvania, stupid laws, so not surprised by the quality or some of the riff raff that stumbled into the place. Just had to stop on my way home while doing a long drive to florida. I'd say it's a go if you just need to stop while driving, it's a nay for vacation or something other then just a one night stop.

Dumpy hotel. Front door would stick shut, bathroom vent fan was covered in dust and vibrated so loudly it shook. Two lights did not work at all, the AC unit emitted a loud whistle noise so only the fan could be used. No service personal at desk during check out to address any concerns. I’ve stayed at this chain before and never seen one so badly maintained.

Our stay at Candlewood suites was okay but not wonderful. We stayed 2 nights and the first night the fire alarm went off in our room for no reason at 11:30PM and then the next night at 4AM. Bathtub didn’t drain well. Room was clean and the mini kitchen was nice. Dishwasher was very loud.

I switched to this hotel at the last minute. At first I was nervous do to the great price and some of the amenities. Let me tell you how pleasantly surprised I was!! First, the place was clean and the front desk was welcoming. Check in process was a breeze and the stay was quiet. Upon arriving in my room, I walked into cleanliness and warmth. The kitchenette in the room was also fantastic to have available. Finally, If you are looking for a place for some great wings...UNDERDOGS!!! I asked the lady working overnight where to go and that it where she guided me. I did not disappoint!. I will be staying at this location again next year for sure. Chris

The room had a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator but it was not in good shape. We could not shut off the ice maker because the switch had been broken off. Also, the condensor was failing so it was very noisy all night and hard to sleep.

Great value for money in a 2-star hotel. We pulled in at 1:30 am. The night clerk who checked us in was friendly and courteous despite the hour. Place was clean as a whistle. Convenient location right off I-81, but we didn't hear any highway noise in our room.
Great value for money in a 2-star hotel. We pulled in at 1:30 am. The night clerk who checked us in was friendly and courteous despite the hour. Place was clean as a whistle. Convenient location right off I-81, but we didn't hear any highway noise in our room.

We will never stay at any Candlewood Suites after this trip. After finding out that our room didn't have enough space for our family, we called and paid to upgrade our room size. When we went to check-in after they had charged us for the "upgrade room" we found out that they had us in the same room we had original booked. On top of that the hotel was over booked and there was nothing they could do about changing our room to the room we had paid more for. After hours and I mean hours we were finally able to get our extra money back but we still had to stay in a room that was to small with our child having to sleep on the floor. Along with us there were 4 other family in the hotel that we know about that were having the same problem. Clearly, they have a system booking problem at this hotel! They were so booked that they didn't have enough towels or bedding due to the amount of added people there and how many families were having to make beds on the floor for the kids. The poor room cleaner was running around like crazy trying to wash towels and bedding to get it to everyone. I feel for the front decks works too. They truly were sorry and they tried to do what they could but when you are paying over $200 a night it just isn't ok. The worst part is that we knew so many other families going through the same thing that had booked the right room from the start and they still didn't get the room they paid for. Really think about your family size before you book in this hotel!

Friendly staff but room was woefully inadequately equipped with basic items such as a bath mat for the tub which mad it extremely slippery. TINY bar of soap with no soap dish, minimal towels and difficulty getting additional ones. Recline char didn’t work right. It was nice to have the kitchenette, but no table or surface of any kind to eat any food. My major problem that after having. terrible night of sleep the night before my departure, I asked and was granted a late checkout of 12 noon ( instead of the standard 11:00 AM checkout departure time. I appreciated this very much , HOWEVER, the maid service knocked very hard on my door at 9AM and woke me and my spouse!!! I told them that we had a late checkout and they shouldn’t have done that. They didn’t even apologize! Why did they not communicate with the front desk on something so basic and simple? It was then impossible to fall back to sleep and we left feeling very angry and exhausted . I will be seeking a partial refund for this major inconvenience. The hotel is within 15 minutes of Hershey Park, which in my opinion, is the primary reason it is worth considering in your travel plans.

A few miles from Hershey and near the freeway exit. Super friendly staff. Marjorie at the desk was awesome. Spotlessly clean comfortable room. The queen suite had everything we needed. Restaurants and shopping nearby.

The room was very spacious. The pool area was humid and towels supplied. The hot tub was boiling hot but I enjoyed that. The lounge area was to be desired but they had a sign stating they were in renovation mode. Pantry provided free coffee if you didn't want to make it in your room. Overall nice and I would recommend. It was only 20 minutes away from Hersheypark.

The staff were ok, but 2 of them told me the pool was open and it wasn't, there was no breakfast and I had to clean the tub and coffee machine myself because it was not clean at all. I checked out a day early because i was uncomfortable and somebody set the fire alarm off and scared my baby.

If I had the money, I’d stay here every day. This is definitely in my top 3 hotels I’ve been to and I’ve been to a lot of them. I love the beds, the staff are very friendly, helpful. Love the full fridge in the room I’m in, pool is nice / not too cold at all. I just wish this place had a complementary breakfast. That’s my only complaint of this place. Everything else is great!

This was a replacement hotel for a hotel we checked in across the street where we had a really sub-par experience. Upon check in the front desk attendant was friendly and promptly got us the keys to the room. Upon entering the room there was no odor or smell of cigarettes and weed like the other hotel across the street. The room was clean and all the lights worked. The room was perfect for what we needed and pleasant for our short stay. The hotel had no continental breakfast options but had a small store where one can purchase sodas, snacks, and breakfast items for a reasonable fee.

I went by the reviews to book this and they were very wrong!! First the pool is closed and they don’t tell you till an hour before you get there, I asked for a pillow for the pull out bed and said they don’t have pillows?!? I was there for a tournament and needed ice for water bottles and my drink that night, the ice machine in the room make about 4 cubes exert few hours, I asked if there was a machine in the hotel, told me no fo a gas station and buy ice, what!?!? The so called paid breakfast is a few things of cereal with no milk, no one was hardly at the fron deal, if you see towels you need to bring yours down to get new ones because there is no housekeeping unless you stay over a week. So could not get towels. Don’t know what I spent over $250 a night on!!!! Don’t go here, there are so many other hotels in the area that are so much better. Awful experience!!!

The staff was nice but the front desk person was not at the desk. As we left to get our stuff and head to the room, front desk staff made themselves very comfortable in the lobby. Scrolling on their phone sitting in the lobby chairs. The hidden fees seem like a scam. Hotel.com states a $50 deposit and the front desk said it’s $75 and gave a reason why but it doesn’t seem to add up. I’m waiting for the money to be released to confirm what she explained. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Stains on the wall and floor. Didn’t shower because the tub was peeling and was not clean. The area didn’t seem like the best area either. When we arrived shoes were hanging from one of the top floor windows and another room had clothes hanging as well. We didn’t bother with the pool because the hotel was off putting enough.

All ice machines in the rooms are turned off and there is not floor ice machines to keep you cooler stocked or cool. Staff didn’t care. Good price for one night but it is a shame people don’t care about service! Room was damp and had a funny smell when you entered the room
