Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Vancouver Mall-Portland Area by IHG

The hot tub wasn’t hot & not very clean

We booked this hotel because the website stated that it had a pool and hot tub but when we checked in they informed us that the pool was closed for remodeling. Had they informed us of that at the time we booked the room, we would have gone elsewhere. There was no fan in the bathroom and every time we took a shower the smoke alarm went off. We had to throw away our food because we didn't realize when we put it in the fridge that the fridge didn't work. The whole experience was a huge disappointment and won't be going back and definitely will not recommend it to anyone.

The hotel was under massive construction when we arrived and there was no warning or notice provided when booking. All of the amenities were closed and not able to be used. There was constant construction noises and a jack hammer starting at 8am. The actual rooms were standard and clean but we are disappointed in the communication abut construction and would have booked elsewhere.

The hotel is in a remodeling project and was dirty pool closed construction dust everywhere, the gal at the front desk was really nice and professional i canceled my reservation and went to the Best Western plus.

Tons of construction. No parking. Nobody told us where to park. Hair everywhere in the hair dryer bag. Only 3 pillows on a king bed. No snacks in the vending machine. I wouldn’t stay again. The breakfast was decent and staff was friendly.

The pool water was a bit too murky for umpires liking which was a disappointment. We were happy with this being a more affordable than Portland option. So many places to eat close by. Raising Canes not far. (New to PNW).

Was not told that the hotel was under renovations. So pool & hot tub were out of service.

It has everything I needed and I felt safe walking around. The breakfasts were a good mix and I enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi every night.

Very clean, quiet, excellent staff!!! Love the front counter ladies!! 10 day stay and not a single issue! The only problem is when you book in a package on a third party site u can’t change reservation at all, but that’s my own issue.

Nice clean property. What you’d expect from Holiday Inn

Well for starters when we opened the couch bed a syringe fell out!! Staff came to the room and were like oh yeah there is a lot of that around the are! Then when we went to shower there was no shower curtain and we were told we wouldn’t get one until the morning! While we showered then had to spend like 10 min trying to dry the bathroom. The hotel its self was pretty dirty.

Property was clean and in good condition, staff were friendly, breakfast was good and had decent options.

The people were great, the room was clean, the breakfast was fine but the hot rods driving by were very loud in my room. Sounded like a drag strip. The earplugs I had helped. I did like the availability of local dining options not too far away. Thank you.

Very impressed with the cleanliness of the room. The carpets looked brand new and the room was very spacious. Good place for a family with a crawling child!

It was clean and nice with easy access. Loved the breakfast but really don't like room decor. More like sleeping in an office.

PTAC units are too load and can't be turned off.

Customer service is absolutely 💯 the worst ive ever experienced. I was tired from flying all day and checked into my room and did not have a chair at my desk to use my laptop. I called tge front desk and asked if i could get a chair because it was missing. The girl said sorry, there is noone here to bring you one. I was told i could come down to the breakfast room and take one from there. Really???..your room is missing a piece of furniture i payed for!..and you want me to come get a metal chair feom dining?. I said i would speak with management in the morning and she said ok!..and hung up. And the coffe maker was full of sludge, didn't even notice until after i made a cup. Hope i dont get sick. I will never stay here again or any other H.I.E..worst service ever!

Perfect location to get to the Ampatheater for the concert. Great breakfast and dining area. The room was clean and staff was wonderful!

Anna was awesome. Our flight got delayed and we were not going to make 2am. They made for sure that my room did not get canceled. She just above and beyond to help..

They are not ADA compliant at all, including the hallway for the elevator which is a common area and thus required. The wheelchair ADA room that was booked was not wheelchair accessible at all, the bath tub was also not . within requirements which led to safety issues. The hotel did not do anything they are obligated to do in this situation and were not helpful at all. It’s been almost a month and I still have yet to receive the phone call from the general manager that they promised.

Close to mall and dining

I like that it’s close to shopping mall, restaurants.

Unsafe with people selling drugs from the room next door. Shady people in the parking lot.

Great customer service greeting staff - quick check in. Tip- if customers are attending the area RV concert - remind them there is bad parking concert traffic and should leaver earlier than expected. …the maps said we should have arrived in 15 min BUT we didn’t get into the venue for an hour and half. And missed most of the first part of the concert. Just some insight would have been helpful- we would have earlier.

The property was just ok. The breakfast was at 7 am vs 630 on Sunday which was not great, our day had to start early. The other holiday inn express we’ve stayed at had 24 coffee with creamer and this one didn’t. Room service didn’t make our bed and didn’t exchange our ice container bag from the night prior. There is also lots of road noise on the first floor

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Vancouver Mall IHG Hotel and had an overall pleasant experience. Here are some highlights and areas for improvement: Pros: ----- Daily Room Service: The daily room service was excellent, far exceeding my experiences at other Holiday Inns. It made our stay much more comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfast: The breakfast options were good, and my kids particularly enjoyed exploring the different choices available. Parking: The inclusion of parking was a convenient and appreciated perk. Property Location: The property is in a safe, nice, and quiet place. For anyone visiting Portland, I highly recommend considering this location. Even though it's in Washington state, the nearby food options are great. Cons: ----- Breakfast Supply: We were disappointed to find that oats ran out within the first hour of breakfast service. This was quite surprising compared to other Holiday Inns we've stayed at, where supplies were better managed. It would be great if they could ensure better stock management in the future. IHG Points: Unfortunately, our stay did not earn any IHG points because we booked through Expedia. As regular customers who have stayed exclusively at Holiday Inn for our last three trips, this was disappointing. It would be beneficial for IHG to consider awarding some points to customers who book through third-party sites, especially those who are frequent guests. Overall, with minor inconveniences, our trip was great

We stay here everytime we're in Vancouver. The staff is amazing, the hotel lobby and rooms are beautiful and clean, and the breakfast buffet is exceptional.
