Hotel Heidelberger Hof

Allie was a wonderful hostess- kind, engaged and made good on the free parking from third party and late check out. Great conversation and just the kind of small local hotel I was looking for. Little cumbersome driving to the hotel but thankfully I had great GPS. Room and bathroom were small but I’ve had smaller. Breakfast was tasty. Parking was around the corner and available with a key. Sink was leaking and side table loose; both fixed right away. Highly recommend!

Second time stay here: first was solo, second with my son. One of the front desk ladies remembered me from before! Such a convenient walk with luggage off of the tram at Bismarckplatz, or to the taxi stand right around the corner. Groceries and shopping nearby abound. Used the sauna & gym this time- private and amazingly HOT! Such a nice treat after a grueling travel day. Hallways were quite humid at times, but it's summer, and the AC in the rooms make up for that. Aside from the neighbors coming and going from their rooms, the property is very calm if you like that for a good rest. Added bonus: was able to use the communal refrigerator in the hallway to store snacks. Also utilized their laundry service, which was just 10Euro! Just a few items weren't dry in some areas fully, but a quick hang up or blast with the hair dryer fixed that. Carpets do show stains in some places as some people have noted, but both times overall, everything has been very clean. I returned for a reason and would not hesitate to do again!

Besonders die Sauna hat mir gut gefallen. Jedes Zimmer ist anders aufgebaut. Frühstück ist auch gut.

Ottima accoglienza, personale molto cortese, possibilità di fruire delle saune gratuitamente (per noi è un elemento distintivo), tutte le aree estremamente pulite, colazione faraonica. Dovessimo tornare a Heidelberg, non avremmo alcun dubbio dove alloggiare di nuovo.

The receptionist was very nice and friendly and answered all of my questions. The room, hotel, and lobby were very clean. I was supposed to get free parking but according to the clerk, it is supposed to be reserved in advance, so I had to pay 20 Euro to park down the street. Parking is an inconvenience here. But overall, the room was nice and clean and big.

Hotel was a quick walk from the S-bahn stop, but wish my navigation would have shown me the sidewalk route vs. the cobblestone route when I had my luggage. Unfortunately never got to take advantage of the sauna, which is a big reason for booking here; it closed at 9 and you have to give them 30 mins. notice to heat it up. Wished it were 24 hrs or open a bit later as this was hard to time around dinners, unless you go before and then shower again, but I wanted to stay out touring. Nobody mans the reception desk at night; you are given access to the front door. Even as a solo traveler, didn't feel unsafe. Slept in and missed the breakfasts I had paid for, and on the last day, had an early flight, so Nicoletta was kind enough to pack me a breakfast to go-with a handwritten note- very thoughtful! Staff at front desk patient in maneuvering with language barriers and finding alternate methods to communicate with me. Room was a bit tight, but beautiful, clean, and served my needs. There was a previous review about stained carpeting, which I also had in my room, but given the size and rolling your luggage in, understandable. Hotel was quiet. If staying out later as I did, it's about a 10-15 min. walk toward the center of old town to reach restaurants, etc. that are open later, but given it's a pedestrian zone, it's a straight walk, there were always people about, and always felt safe. Police cars were always riding up and down scanning around. Nice stay!

It was a nice place. They had a parking space you could rent that was in a garage around the corner.

My daughter and I were very disappointed because I chose this hotel especially because it advertised a gym and my daughter works out on a daily basis. It did not have a gym and the weight room they claimed to have did not have weights either. So we were misinformed and had we known, would not have chosen this hotel. (I had to pay for a one time pass for my daughter to go to the gym in the mall). The hotel was mostly clean but the carpet in our room was sketchy so I made sure my bare feet didn't touch it. The breakfast was ok (basic), but since my daughter was a vegetarian and couldn't eat gluten it didn't work so much for her. On the positive side the hotel was located right in the center of town so easy walking. So in view of the above in my opinion it was over priced. However, good for a short stay but not a long one .

Very clean hotel situated close to the train station. Easy access to many shops and restaurants. Very friendly staff. Would recommend staying here in Heidelberg!

Das gesamte Personal war unheimlich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man hat sich immer willkommen gefühlt und einem wurde schnell geholfen. Die Lobby ist schön geräumig und der Frühstücksraum sah sehr schön gedeckt aus. Leider gibt es keine Möglichkeit außen zu sitzen. Der Parkplatz für 19€ pro Nacht ist Goldwert! Unbedingt dazu mieten. Die Hygiene im Hotelzimmer (Einzelzimmer) war absolut nicht in Ordnung. Dusche, Badezimmer und Abstelltisch waren verschmutzt und nicht abgewischt. Im Zimmer gab es kein heißes Wasser und der Duschkopf war sehr verkalkt. Man konnte es kaum drehen. Mir wurde ein zweites Zimmer zum duschen und umziehen angeboten, auch das war Hygiene technisch ein fail. Die Beschriftung auf dem Telefon war kaum lesbar. Kein Wasser oder Stift mit Papier im Zimmer. Trotz der Location, dem tollen Personal und das leckere aussehende Frühstück (ich hatte ohne Frühstück gebucht), wird es diese Unterkunft kein zweites Mal für mich sein. Als Entschuldigung wurde mir eine Nacht parken umsonst angeboten.

The cleanliness of the bathrooms was perfect. Towel heaters perfect as we like to open the large windows to keep the room cool and bathroom warm and dry. Staff attentive and friendly. Will definitely stay again. Perfect location. Great breakfast buffet.

Sehr netter Check in. Sauberkeit und Betten machen ist ausbaufähig. Ein Bett war nicht gemacht. Im Zimmer hatten wir Silberfisch und Käfer. Lampe in der Dusche defekt. Frühstück war gut und reichhaltig.

Really friendly welcoming front of house staff. Good parking facilities just a short walk from the hotel. Good continental breakfast. Rooms need a little updating, specifically carpet which was quite stained. Excellent WiFi and air conditioning, and toiletries and hair dryer a good standard. Would stay again

Very clean , friendly staff , great buffet selection and quality

My daughter and I were very disappointed because I chose this hotel especially because it advertised a gym and my daughter works out on a daily basis. It did not have a gym and the weight room they claimed to have did not have weights either. So we were misinformed and had we known, would not have chosen this hotel. (I had to pay for a one time pass for my daughter to go to the gym in the mall). The hotel was mostly clean but the carpet in our room was sketchy so I made sure my bare feet didn't touch it. The breakfast was ok (basic), but since my daughter was a vegetarian and couldn't eat gluten it didn't work so much for her. On the positive side the hotel was located right in the center of town so easy walking. So in view of the above in my opinion it was over priced. However, good for a short stay but not a long one .

The room was clean, warm, and inviting. The staff was friendly and took great care of us. We were in town for the Christmas Market and we really loved the location of the hotel right in the heart of the old town.

Would be nice if the rooms included a kettle.

Das Hotel Heidelberger Hof hat sehr freundliches Personal und ich empfand es als sehr sauber. Ich hatte das Standard Einzelzimmer gebucht und würde es nicht empfehlen, da es sehr klein ist und man sich kaum drehen, geschweige denn irgendwo bequem sitzen kann. Außerdem ist das Hotel leider so hellhörig, dass man das Husten der Zimmernachbarn hört, was ich von einem 4 Sterne Hotel eigentlich anders gewöhnt bin. Das Frühstück war gut, es gab auch veganen Aufschnitt, was ich wirklich klasse finde. Brötchen vom Bäcker und der Kaffee ist auch super, die Auswahl ansonsten in Ordnung. Die Lage ist sehr zentral. Alles in allem würde ich glaube ich für den Preis nicht unbedingt wieder kommen, da findet sich in der Preiskategorie etwas mit mehr Komfort.

An sich das Hotel super schön und sauber! Leider wurde unsere Reservierung für das Parkhaus verschwitzt und mussten im nahe gelegenen Parkhaus parken! Pro Tag 20€ also 40€ für zwei Tage! Unser Zimmer war zur Strassenseite und Nachts sehr laut! Zwecks Parkplatz reservierung war die Frau am Telefon etwas genervt! Dafür war der Rezeptionist sehr sehr höflich und alles erklärt! Schade das es auf dem Zimmer kein Wasserkocher mit Tee & Kaffee gab! Im ganzen ist zu Fuss alles super ereichbar und Bäcker in der Nähe ( auch Sonntags geöffnet ).

Väldigt bra läge på hotellet med stort rum och badrum. Rent och fint. Bra frukost. Bra AC och stor säng med härligt täcke.

Very tiny room, completely different from the pictures on the website. Staff not welcoming but professional enough. The room is poorly dressed, more poorly equipped. The sheets are worn, as is the room. The fan in the bathroom is extremely noisy: solution is to never turn on the light inside. Cheap but certainly not cheerful

Staff and property are nice. The only complaint would be the step down out of the shower. Was not so easy for our 90 year old grandfather without a rail to hold onto.

Great breakfast with eggs, cold cuts, cheese, fruit, pastries, yogurt, cereal, good coffee, orange & tangerine juice. Location is great, just 1 block from walking street. 21 minute walk from train. 30 minute walk to Castle - less if you take the tram (funicular) up to Castle at Hotel Schloss. Never needed public transportation.

Love the location and the breakfast. The only complaint is the step going into the bathroom. It wasn’t clearly marked and it is a sharp corner of a step. Stubbed my toe pretty good. But I adapted by putting my shoes in front so I would have a visual.

Over all the facility was nice, clean, good location. If they can provide kettle to boil water for hot tea would be nice !

We were given a smaller room than what we booked through hotels.com (we booked a comfort-room but were given a standard -room). When we took this up, we had some unpleasant conversations with the staff/owner. We had booked a room that can fit 4 person's because we were travelling with two kids. In making the booking we didn't mention that we were traveling with 2 kids because the hotels.com app said that children are free of charge (I believe this info has been changed since). We even brought our own baby cot. The information on the hotels.com/Expedia app was misleading. After requesting the right room, the owner ended up giving us two standard-rooms. We thought it was a compromise from their side because of the wrong room but during check-out we were asked to pay for both of them. The whole experience was not very customer-oriented and we would not stay here again. We understand that some of the hazzle could have been avoided with accurate information on the hotels.com app. Also, the owner was completely unaware of the different hotels.com membership services (we are gold members and the hotel had registered some vip access services like free upgrade of the room but in practice they were completely unaware of this).

Sehr schönes, gut geführtes und gepflegtes Hotel in wirklich guter und trotzdem ruhiger Innenstadtlage von Heidelberg. Fußgängerzone, Schloss, Neckar und diverse Restaurants und Cafés sind binnen weniger Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, gutes Frühstücksbuffet.

This is advertised as a 4-star hotel; but was probably no better than a 2-star hotel. They definitely have a 4-star lobby and maybe I should have taken a blanket and pillow and slept in the lobby. The room was anything but a 4-star hotel room - a hole in the curtains; bleach stains on the carpet; very small bathroom; but, the topper was a the 1-foot by 1-foot pillar holding up the ceiling directly next to the bed. It was perfectly positioned so that anyone rolling over at night would hit their knee on the pillar. The people truly try their best; but hotel management has also deemed it not necessary to have anyone in the hotel after 9 pm -- so you cannot use the gym after 9; nor acquire anything from the hotel. Finally, the buffet breakfast was minimally stocked and the absolute minimum staff they used was hard-pressed to keep the buffet stocked. Then on the last day the Buffey Coffee machine broke. Overall an exceptionally disappointing experience.

Für die HD Innenstadt war die Übernachtung okay. Die Parkplätze in der Tiefgarage sehr eng ab Mittelklasse PKW. Das Frühstück war okay. Das Personal kaum sichtbar, beim Frühstück wurde selten geschaut, ob etwas fehlte. Die Betten waren durchgelegen ansonsten war das Zimmer i.O.. Wir werden das nächste Mal in HD ein anderes Hotel suchen.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that there was a flood and they had to send 2/3 parties to a hotel down the street. We asked for all three parties tobe moved but they didn’t let us. So we go to the new hotel and the front desk had o clue what was going on. We finally got the room. My daughter and her infant son were asleep when someone came into their room. I scared them. They said there was some kind of misunderstanding

Durch die zentrale Lage war vieles fußläufig erreichbar - Nahverkehr und Neckarufer um die Ecke. Weit gucken konnte man von dem Zimmer allerdings nicht. Ein Grund mehr also öfter mal raus zu gehen :-)

Went for the Christmas markets. Hotel was about 20-25 min walk from the train station and was 1 block from the main shopping street which runs about a mile. Was very walkable. Hotel was great with fairly spacious room and a very nice breakfast. Will definately stay again when the need arises.

Fint hotel men knapt så godt som forventet. Meget rent værelse, dog havde gulvtæppet en del pletter. Gode senge men gulvet var meget skævt så man følte lidt at man rullede ud af sengen. Morgenmaden skuffede, der var ikke meget udvalg. Betjeningen var ok men ikke meget smil på personalet.

Das Hotel liegt optimal in der Altstadt von Heidelberg. Die Zimmer sind ausreichend bis auf den Teppichboden der Flecken hatte. Wir hatten ein Einzelzimmer das für 1 Person ausreichend ist. Frühstück ausreichend jedoch könnte die Auswahl für ein 4 Sterne Hotel größer sein. Leider haben wir 2 Tage hintereinander die Erfahrung gemacht, dass die bereitgestellte Becel Margarine bereits über 2 Monate abgelaufen war. Trotz 2 maliger Aufforderung an die Servicekraft, wurde die Becel Margarine am nächsten Morgen erneut auf das Buffett gestellt. Hier sollte eine bessere Überwachung der Lebensmittel erfolgen, denn schlussendlich geht es hier um die Gesundheit . Ansonsten haben wir uns wohl gefühlt.

Good location - walkable to the train station and castle & quiet at night. Our first night was in a room for 3 and it was excellent. The next night we had to move into two different rooms as a pipe burst. These rooms were much smaller and had not been renovated. The beds, pillows, linens etc. are all top quality. The breakfast is superb. Again top quality ingredients, good selection and all served with fine china. Would definitely stay there again.
