Front counter personnel was friendly, even the Doberman Pinscher. The facility had locking back doors for room access, but didn't work - we had to go through the main lobby to access room, rather than the key-swipe locked doors at the back which were closer to our room.

For the price it went beyond some places where you would pay $200. Stay on second floor since there are no carpets but be aware there is no elevator. I dont know why people have to make some much noise at 3 in the morning.

What a great place to stay, right off I76 and near Kent State. Did not expect a truck stop to be so nicely furnished. Good breakfast, comfortable beds. Loved having so many security cameras monitor parking lot. Very friendly front desk. Nice gym, but bring your own entertainment as TV in gym does not work. Would definitely pick this hotel again.

Very pleasent stay. Frendly staff. Decent pricing. Dogs are welcome. They have dog grass areas for them. Plentiful parking. Secure room access as only enter hotel though front but can exit by all other doors. Will stay there again.

Part of the hotel was tore up and areas closed off. Ice machine did not work. Bed let out a loud noise just by sitting on it. Walls to rooms were really thin. We could hear the dog next door just walking around. The staff was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was really great!

Nice clean room. Looks to have been recently renovated. Tile and vinyl flooring, bathroom mirror is surround lighting, good size mini fridge and microwave, iron and board for touch ups of clothing, soap/shampoo/conditioner dispenser in the shower and sink. Feel safe as the only entrance is through the lobby, but other doors are exit only.

This seems like a pretty safe Hotel and was clean and in good condition. The only reason for knocking off 1 star was the only way into the Hotel was the main entrance even though there were multiple other exterior doors. You could exit from these doors but they were locked and did not open with the key card. It was not a bad card as this was confirmed by the desk clerk. This was a pretty big inconvenience since my room was at the far end of a long hallway from the desk. When leaving for the final time I put something in the door to keep it from latching since I had multiple trips to make to my motorcycle. Also, there was bagels to toast but nothing to spread on them except butter. Very minor complaint.

The room was huge, clean and comfortable. They are not a new place so it isn’t fancy - tiny bath towels and everything could use a new coat of paint. The only spot that was kind of gross was the lobby area - so much dust and cobwebs around the chairs and stuff. Room was cleaner than the common areas.

We went crazy thinking a garbage chute was near our room or a garbage truck constantly picked up a dumpster, the constant noise of metal was enough to drive a person crazy. Come to find out the base of the bed is metal and hollow so anytime the room above us and on the sides of us moved all you could hear is the sound of metal crashing.

For a hotel the room was very quiet. Comfortable. The beds werenoising but i understood regarding to help with being pest free. Would have liked more lighting room and an alarm clock. The room was clean.

Positives: The room was clean. The vending machine decently priced. Good biscuits and gravy and muffin and juice options The Negative: The small beds were full sized and sitting on something similar to a filing caninet. There was no carpet and it felt weird walking on the bare floor. The Bathroom toilet flushed loudly and the doors outside our room shut loudly.

This trip was made to explore the area so we didnt plan to spend alot of time in the hotel. This was a convenient and very clean place. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very large and clean as was the bath. There were some strange holes in the bath and the door trim was coming off and rotting on the bottom by the tub. The breakfast was standard fare. I would recommend this location with the understanding that at this price point you are not getting Embassy Suites. You get what you pay for and this was very acceptable.

Mike is a very pleasant! My stay here was quick only for one night. The price was affordable and I would stay here again. The breakfast was really accommodating. Royal Inn and Suites was very clean and quiet. It’s close to a gas station so if you want to grab snacks! Also I loved the fact that they have a MICROWAVE!!!

The room was great... Huge, actually! And the staff was terrific! Rose, who checked me in, could not have been more friendly or helpful, and Mike (who was on duty this morning) helped me out with a couple of small problems.

Worst stay I ever had. We were judged as soon as we checked in, constantly got dirty looks. We were accused of smoking in our room when we didn’t. Basically called us liars. Threatened that if we stay again they will just take our money and kick us out. The hallways smelled like wet dog, outlets didn’t have covers and it looks like someone locked a dog in the bathroom. There is also a large Doberman on the property that if left unleashed.

Ok, I read all the reviews and I thought, it seems many people were happy, and some people hated it. First off, there’s no way this place should have an “excellent” rating. It’s obvious they’re trying, but right away I was unhappy because my room literally didn’t lock. So I needed to make a second trip out to the car, but I could just push really hard on the room door and it popped right open. I was shocked! As a single female traveler, this made me very nervous. When I told the front staff, it was like she wasn’t surprised at all with my complaint. I’m thinking, geee how often do people tell you the room door doesn’t lock?? Anyway, I was honestly also very concerned about the parking lot and the people walking around. The whole vibe was just sketchy. To the owners… it would probably help your vibe if you didn’t have the 18 wheelers parked right in front. I literally felt like I was arriving at a truck stop which made me , I don’t know, it didn’t seem like a regular hotel, it felt like a truck stop. So, on the good side, once I was given a different room, and I was safely locked in my room for the night, it was comfortable. Comfortable bed. I did check for bed bugs and saw no evidence. It was pretty quiet. The air conditioning worked fine. Things seemed clean, there is no carpet… the whole thing was tile floor. The counter in the bathroom was a little janky piece of wood screwed to the wall. It was weird because everything else was pretty decently done. Fix Doors!!!!

This was a last minute reservation because our original hotel had a power outage due to severe storm weather. The lobby was surprisingly welcome and checkin staff was very friendly and helpful. Facilities were a bit dated but otherwise clean and comfortable.

This hotel desperately needs some upgrades. It is clean and the staff were all very helpful and welcoming. They need better lighting in their parking lot. The breakfast was pretty bad; just pre-packaged muffins and oatmeal. Akron is a dying city and the area is sketchy. The hotel clearly does things to mitigate this like lots of cameras and lots of exits but only one entrance; however the guest should be warned, I don’t think there is a nice part of Akron.

This hotel desperately needs some upgrades. It is clean and the staff were all very helpful and welcoming. They need better lighting in their parking lot. The breakfast was pretty bad; just pre-packaged muffins and oatmeal. Akron is a dying city and the area is sketchy. The hotel clearly does things to mitigate this like lots of cameras and lots of exits but only one entrance; however the guest should be warned, I don’t think there is a nice part of Akron.

Hotel.in near industrial park and highway.. very competent staff with good customer service. Restaurants nearby by not a walking neighborhood. Very quiet. Staff is serious about safety and cleanliness. Rooms have been remodeled, bit still old doors. Beds firm and comfortable.

I’ll be honest, when we drove up we were worried. The exterior looks dated, but we just needed a room for the football hall of fame game so we kept an open mind. The interior did not match the exterior. Everything was updated and well kept. The man at the front desk was friendly and checked me in right away. He gave me room keys and offered to carry our luggage (I declined since we were on the first floor). Our room was adequate sized and had a small fridge and microwave. The air conditioner worked and the bathroom was clean. The bed was large and comfortable. The only complaint was there was a loose piece of tile in the floor and we both tripped over it, but that’s nothing big. The free breakfast in the morning had hot items and standard continental items and was well stocked. For a one night stay we really can’t complain. It was close to the highway but the room was quiet and we got a decent nights sleep. We would stay here again if we were in the area.

This was a great hotel for the price. The rooms feel like they have recently been redone to give a clean and comfortable feeling. The location was great, only 10 minutes to downtown Akron. The breakfast had a variety of options.

Very reasonable price and clean and comfortable. Breakfast leaves a little to be desired. No eggs or bacon, sausage or anything like that. Only fruit, cereal and prepackad danish rolls.

Easy to park. Lady at the front desk did a good job being friendly and efficient The room was large and comfortable. Bed was nice , slept well. Every thing was working fine Breakfast was the a little disappointing with lots of sorts of pastries but not much protein to keep is going for the day.

The lobby makes a striking first impression. The desk clerk was very helpful and most willing to freeze blue ice for our cooler. The continental breakfast had the typical offerings, but they were above average in the brand quality, for instance, Bob Evans breakfast sandwiches to be heated in the microwave and Apple and Eve apple juice in individual bottles and Otis Spunkmeyer muffins.

This place is pretty bad. My room is old and dingy. There was no breakfast - something about a permit? When I checked in no one told me anything about breakfast, check-out or any amenities. There is no phone in the room so I couldn’t call the front desk to ask anything unless I looked up the number and called from my cell. There’s a beat-up old plank of wood crookedly screwed to the wall as a shelf in the bathroom, but it’s got some white chalky substance all over it. Towels are very old and dingy - no fluff here! Must admit the bed was comfortable and I slept relatively well. No coffee pot but there is a small microwave and a pretty big fridge. I guess it could be worse. I did have a place to stay that felt relatively safe, so there’s that.

We could tell there have been updates and renovations to the rooms which are nice, but generally the lobby isn't that nice and the grounds and outside area could use some work. Also, the breakfast wasn't that great or very well monitored.

This hotel is overpriced, especially compared to others we’ve visited on our current trip. The desk staff person was pleasant and the room was reasonably clean, but the facility was very poorly maintained. In addition, the breakfast food and coffee was poorly maintained.

The staff was so unpleasant and rude. The floor boards in the room were uneven so much I kept tripping over them. The bed wasn’t very comfortable. They had 2 very big very intimidating dogs behind the counter. When I asked their names the attendant said “their names don’t matter to you.” Just so rude and the whole experience was terrible. Thank goodness it was a short stay.

Breakfast is over at 930 even on Sundays. A bit early for my husband and I so there was nothing left at 930 when we went down. Also out of coffee both Saturday and Sunday. Also TV in room did not work :( but we were just there to sleep and have breakfast. There breakfast is good ao we were disappointed on Sunday!
