Lift for luggage but not people but no problem as staff operate it for you. The bar is not crowded and great for dinner/ drinks. No shopping nearby, hospital across the street. No elevator. Pub food wasn’t the best, fish and chips seemed to be thawed frozen fish and over cooked and hard. Morning breakfast was delicious. Plenty of seating in the room

The room was small, clean, and comfortable; the bathroom clean (but not completely spotless--a little mold in the shower grout wasn't really concerning). The staff I interacted with (including the owner) were not just polite but personable. And the breakfast offering was well above average. The pizza I had in the hotel restaurant, however, was mediocre, but the bartender/waiter was terrific--a master at both crafts.

Hotel plutôt bien situé a 25 minutes à pied du centre ville. Place de parking gratuite devant l'hotel ce qui est plutot pratique. Chambre spacieuse. Literie correcte. Gros effort a faire sur la propreté, en effet les draps du lit et les serviette etzient tachés. Ainsi la propriété de la chambre et la salle de bain etaient limite.... Sadly we were not impressed by this establishment. Things did not start well - at check in we asked if we could get some lunch and were told 'yes of course the restaurant is open until 3pm'. The receptionist took us across to the restaurant and a lady came to tell us they were closed - despite it being 20 minutes before 'closing' Our second floor room (no lift available) was disappointing- a double bed and an unasked for single bed. The decor was tired with some odd 'boutiquey' touches although the bed was comfortable enough. There was one plug point for our use and a complicated TV system with no instructions but Netflix on tap but FTA channels difficult to locate. The bathroom was very old, with a dripping tap, a rickety shower door and no hand shower. The towels were threadbare and there was a lack of shelf space and no shaving point. No bathroom (or other) items for our personal use were provided, simply soap and shampoo dispensers. During our stay the level of cleanliness left something to be desired, with surfaces clearly untouched and hard floors clearly not washed during our stay (although complaints improved it slightly during our week). The hot water system is switched off during the night and early morning showers were cool ones. We are loathe to criticise family run hotels like this one, but frankly this establishment charges top money and delivers something far short of value for that money.

I was told the restaurant would open at 6. The shower was old and all the chrome in the bathroom was rusty. The shower gel and shampoo dispenser was filthy. Even with the bathroom door closed the smell was overpowering all night. Payment was taken on arrival and no one at reception when I was leaving so I couldn’t inform them at the time.

I booked this room last minute. The room was clean and spacious. But the older gentleman at the front desk made the review a 5 star. He was so friendly and polite. I would recommend this hotel.

Our room upon arrival seemed ok but once we went to bed at 9.30, there was constant noise from other rooms and the service lift next to our room. At 10.05 we went to investigate as we thought noise like that after 10 completely unacceptable. We discovered it was a member of staff moving bedding trolleys around ready for the next day. We were then offered a different room at 10.15. We then packed up all our belongings and moved to room away from the service lift. We finally got to bed after 11.30pm. We now found that there were washing machines/tumble dryers going in the space below us. The laminate floors in the rooms just amplified any noise. Possibly the worst two nights stay during our month long trip in Ireland. This hotel was also the most expensive of our stays and was not worth the money we paid! The member of staff was helpful in moving us and very apologetic so we don’t blame them in any way but it’s the hotel itself. The hotel actually had signs asking guests to respect peace and quiet for other guests. It’s a pity the hotel didn’t think about peace and quiet for guests by following their own request for peacefulness.

We stayed here for four days. The room was lovely, elegant and had ample space. The location is far from the city centre but the bus is easy to use and relatively close. If you like walking it's a nice 25 minute walk but there is not much to do around the hotel aside from the in hotel bar/restaurant. Wifi access was very inconsistent on both our own devices and the tv in the room which made being far from the city centre all the more inconvenient. It was however nice to end out day in a quiet and calm area.

Good place. Right on one of the few Kilkenny bus lines, necessary for those with no car. The only lack is electricity, just one socket for plugging in all our electronics.

This place was great! I would highly recommend it. Just be aware, as of most of Ireland, no central air during the summer, but other than that it was perfect. So close to Kilkenny. I would stay again. :)

Front desk staff (male) was a little rude at first upon check in, but made up for it by offering to help with our luggage. The king size bed was NOT a king size bed. Hotel was very clean and breakfast was outstanding!

Our room upon arrival seemed ok but once we went to bed at 9.30, there was constant noise from other rooms and the service lift next to our room. At 10.05 we went to investigate as we thought noise like that after 10 completely unacceptable. We discovered it was a member of staff moving bedding trolleys around ready for the next day. We were then offered a different room at 10.15. We then packed up all our belongings and moved to room away from the service lift. We finally got to bed after 11.30pm. We now found that there were washing machines/tumble dryers going in the space below us. The laminate floors in the rooms just amplified any noise. Possibly the worst two nights stay during our month long trip in Ireland. This hotel was also the most expensive of our stays and was not worth the money we paid! The member of staff was helpful in moving us and very apologetic so we don’t blame them in any way but it’s the hotel itself. The hotel actually had signs asking guests to respect peace and quiet for other guests. It’s a pity the hotel didn’t think about peace and quiet for guests by following their own request for peacefulness.

Didn't stay as our ferry time was changed due to adverse weather. Went to the hotel to let them know of our changes and they were excellent. Even though we didn't stay, our impression of the hotel was extremely favourable. Would not hesitate to book again.

Sadly we were not impressed by this establishment. Things did not start well - at check in we asked if we could get some lunch and were told 'yes of course the restaurant is open until 3pm'. The receptionist took us across to the restaurant and a lady came to tell us they were closed - despite it being 20 minutes before 'closing' Our second floor room (no lift available) was disappointing- a double bed and an unasked for single bed. The decor was tired with some odd 'boutiquey' touches although the bed was comfortable enough. There was one plug point for our use and a complicated TV system with no instructions but Netflix on tap but FTA channels difficult to locate. The bathroom was very old, with a dripping tap, a rickety shower door and no hand shower. The towels were threadbare and there was a lack of shelf space and no shaving point. No bathroom (or other) items for our personal use were provided, simply soap and shampoo dispensers. During our stay the level of cleanliness left something to be desired, with surfaces clearly untouched and hard floors clearly not washed during our stay (although complaints improved it slightly during our week). The hot water system is switched off during the night and early morning showers were cool ones. We are loathe to criticise family run hotels like this one, but frankly this establishment charges top money and delivers something far short of value for that money.

Brendan on front desk is a star. Every hotel should have a Brendan. I dropped key on the way to reception and left hotel. Then few hours later noticed that I had not got key .panic and searched everywhere no key. Brendan had got key found on hotel floor and emailed me. Where else would you get that. Thank you .Our hotel was very clean and staff v friendly Felt like i was staying with friends Would give 10 out 5 if i could. Beautiful setting

Mycket välkomnande personal i receptionen när vi anlände. Fick mycket god hjälp. Fick till och med vårt rum ändrat från andra till första våning då min fru har ont i ett knä och har lite svårt att gå i trappor. Det fanns ingen hiss men mannen i receptionen hjälpte till och ordnade upp våra väskor via mathissen. Mycket hjälpsamt! Enda dåliga erfarenheten var baren då vi skulle äta middag. Ingen som helst hjälpsamhet, intresse eller effektivitet. Vi åkte ut på stan och åt istället.

We stayed here for four days. The room was lovely, elegant and had ample space. The location is far from the city centre but the bus is easy to use and relatively close. If you like walking it's a nice 25 minute walk but there is not much to do around the hotel aside from the in hotel bar/restaurant. Wifi access was very inconsistent on both our own devices and the tv in the room which made being far from the city centre all the more inconvenient. It was however nice to end out day in a quiet and calm area.

The room was small, clean, and comfortable; the bathroom clean (but not completely spotless--a little mold in the shower grout wasn't really concerning). The staff I interacted with (including the owner) were not just polite but personable. And the breakfast offering was well above average. The pizza I had in the hotel restaurant, however, was mediocre, but the bartender/waiter was terrific--a master at both crafts.

No shopping nearby, hospital across the street. No elevator. Pub food wasn’t the best, fish and chips seemed to be thawed frozen fish and over cooked and hard. Morning breakfast was delicious. Plenty of seating in the room

The hotel was and is not prepared for multiple groups or business customers. The menu is basic and they cannot cope with multiple orders. Arriving at the Kilkenny Boutique Hotel, the area, building, and initial impressions are wonderful. The staff member who helped me check in was very friendly and helpful. I did have an issue, however, because I requested a wheelchair accessible room and was not assigned to one. It was resolved on-site, but the staff mentioned that they weren't aware of such a request. I'm not sure if this is the website or hotel at fault, but everyone should be aware to call the hotel directly to confirm before your stay. Messaging through the website did not help. I love the decoration and style of the place, and the bar and café have amazing food. My two other problems are that: 1) There were dead mosquitos in various places in our room (bed, pillows, etc.), and there are no proper outlets to plug your items into. There was an extension cord, but it doesn't work on adapters.

The hotel overall was great. The pub and restaurant were great when we didn't want to run back into town. The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions. It was a lovely choice for an out-of-the-way stay. The bus stop is a short walk from the hotel, and the fare is 2 euros. An Uber into downtown cost us about 13 Euros. We walked into town a few times (about 20-30 min), depending on where you are going. Our room did not have AC (that I saw), so we opened the window at night. Some of the locations downtown were more convenient, but also much more expensive. Would definitely stay here again.
