The Waverley Hotel

Handy hotel very close to Crewe station. If you need a night in the area this hotel is ideal. Good parking outside the hotel, plus the immediate area is quiet. The receptionist was very polite and helpful. I would use this hotel again if I need to stay a night in the area.

Freindy, helpful staff and a very good breakfast. Rooms a little tired and cramped. Bathrooms and showers very small! Basic but perfectly okay for a couple of nights. Good location for the centre of Crewe with plenty of restaurants around.

Closer to the station than the centre of Crewe, this hotel meets basic needs. You pay for what you get. The staff were great

In a good location and with parking I would recommend this hotel. Had a good night sleep and breakfast was amazing.

The Waverley is a short walk from Crewe railway station, one road back from the very busy Nantwich Road, meaning it is reasonably quiet. It is a mix of older buildings and my room was quite small with a single bed, desk and wall mounted TV above the desk. The bed was OK; however the duvet was very thick, so I was either too hot under it, or too cold outside. There was a rather crinkly undersheet, but that didn't affect my sleeping. The en-suite shower worked well, though the towels were a little old. They don't serve evening meals, although there are numerous pubs, restaurants and takeaways within 5 minutes' walk, and there's an courtyard with benches and tables at which you can sit (and eat) on warmer evenings. Breakfast was good; a vegetarian English has no replacement protein but was generously portioned and cooked to order. There was a self-service selection of 3 juices, 4 cereals, tea/coffee, yoghurts, tinned fruit salad and whole fresh fruit. It was reasonably priced although I paid more than I would have done in one of the chains had I booked early enough.

There's mold on the ceiling in the bathroom The shower is small I'm a big man the top on the sink was loose I did tell the staff didn't get much sleep because of the people in the next room behind me if they're snoring all night food was good in the morning staff excellent

For the budget price this was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly.

bedding smelt very musty. Property very tired looking, I was so uncomfortable I didnt actually sleep in the bed, luckily i had jogging bottoms to wear on top of the bed covers. I had to put a t shirt over the pillow as it smelt. I only managed to sleep for a couple of hours, as the room next to me had obviously purchased a companion for a couple of hours, and the walls were very thin. Awful place.

Lovely an clean room and hotel, friendly staff and a warm welcome. I was down for family funeral an i droped my car off early then used the late check in at 10pm with no problem. Cant comment on breakfast as i overslept.. But a great we place to stay.

One night stay booked with breakfast. Good reviews of the Hotel, so reasonable expectations for my stay. Arrived shortly after 18.00 on Saturday evening to find front door locked and a note inside to phone the Hotel to gain access. It was pouring with rain at the time and wasn't a pleasant experience standing in the rain trying to get someone to open the door, and also prevent my phone from getting damaged in the rain. There's no porch over the outside door and you are at the mercy of the elements. Not a good start. If it is essential to lock the access door to the Hotel at 6pm, why not lock the internal porch door instead of the external one. At least you can shelter in the dry porch to make the phone call. Room 13. No coat hook to hang my wet coat on. Coat hangers in the wardrobe, but no trouser hanger to hang my wet trousers on. Wifi signal in Room 13 very weak and kept dropping out. At 21.00 someone entered my room! The Yale type lock on the room was so flimsy, any key could open it. A dead bolt on the door would prevent unauthorised access. Moved to room 21. Again poor/non existent wi-fi, and no coat hooks. Apart from the points noted, the rooms were comfortable and practical. The breakfast, as noted by others was excellent. I was given a receipt for my payment when I checked in, different to the amount I paid. My payment was direct to Hotels.com, not to the Hotel. Hotels.com have provided me with a receipt, the Hotel does not need to provide another one.

The building itself seems old and is full of characters. Room doors are still open using old fashioned key, tiny tv screen like the old days. As I was only staying for 2 nights, there isn't a need for my room to be freshen up, though there isn't anywhere outside the door where you can hang the 'do not disturb' sign. The shower was a bit too tiny with the switch that switch outwards, you can easily switch off the shower by turning or turn up/down the heat.

Overall condition of the hotel is not so good. Just to mention some of the item - room size too small, shower room very very small, bathroom floor was slippery i almost fell down, bath towel size is so small that i have never seen that in any of the hotel.

Clean enough room, excellent location for train station.I was in single room, be wary you may not get a good nights sleep as walls are so thin you can hear room next door's conversation and doors banging etc.

Property is a bit faded and the room quite small but the bed was comfy the staff friendly and the breakfast was good. Good value for money.

when I arrived I had had a bad experience at a earlier hotel I stayed at. Top floor room,steep stairway from ground floor and toilet on an other level. So when I arrived early at the waverley the staff very kindly switched me to a ground floor room when I told them of my previous hotel difficulties. The waverley did not do evening meals but invited me to use a take away and bring it back to hotel where a plate and cutlery would be provided for me to use which was very kind.

I stayed very last minute last night very cheap even at last minute and comfortable bed nice sized room, and nice breakfast too great value for money and right by Crewe FC and station too.

Excellent value for a quick overnight in Crewe. Only 5 mins walk from the station. Comfy bed plus a great breakfast included in the price.

Very good service by friendly staff. Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast. Old fashioned feel, but clean. Only quibbles: double bed position restricted access to the bathroom, would be a squeeze for a larger person. Also very noisy in bathroom after light switched on to enable heating etc. Would return again.
