Conveniently located close to Inverness airport. Very comfortable beds. Fluffy towels. Hotel has bar and restaurant. Bar was pretty noisy on a recent Friday night stay. Earplugs recommended.

We had a delux room on 2nd floor. It was spacious had plenty of places to sit comfortably an in room mini fridge large bathroom. Staff was friendly and informative. Full breakfast and bar service and dinner options onsite plus free parking.

This was the most affordable place for us to stay on our last trip to Inverness. We were expecting a fairly run down local pub, and it looks a bit like that from outside. But inside the rooms have been renovated and are actually very comfortable. The only down side is there isn't a lift and you need to lug your bags upstairs but the staff were great and would probably help.

It’s an older place but gives the best vibes. It almost felt like a bed and breakfast with how quaint and sweet the building and people were. The only downside is there is no elevator but the front desk attendant helped us with our bags. There is still a physical key access to this place. It’s amazingly cozy too.

The owner himself ran the breakfast area (great meals!) and personally offered the use of the washer and dryer for us. One evening dinner service was on the slow side but the food was very good. Andy at the bar was kind and personable. Both gave us tips on places to visit. The room was third floor and no lift but Andy showed us how to open the window for comfort and I loved the little lending library of books. Walls were thin but we slept well. We would stay here again!

This hotel was perfect for our needs for 2 nights. My initial thought was that the outside looked a bit 'tired' but the interior made up for it. Our room was very nice, bright, clean and comfortable. The shower was great with big towels. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices for a full cooked breakfast or cereals etc. I enjoyed the nice big chunks of fresh watermelon and orange slices. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was on a bus route (we didn't use it) and was only a few miles from Colloden and Clava Cairns. We would stay here again.

We had a room directly over the exit door from the bar. This is supposed to be a smoke free hotel but several people came out that bar door and smoked directly below our window, filling our room with tobacco smoke. We had to close the window which made the room stuffy. Tiny bathroom! We had to leave early in the morning for our flight so didn't get breakfast. The receptionist offered bag lunches for us instead. What we got was two grated cheese sandwiches, nothing else on the sandwich, two green bananas, two bags of chips and two bottles of water that we couldn't drink because we had to go through security at the airport. Hardly equal to a Scottish breakfast. It was weird.

We were assigned room 9. The staff was friendly. The restaurant and hall smelled musky. Lamb was not good, burger was decent. Room size is ok, it got a weird closet that has junk in it. There is no sound proof, i thought the room across child was trying to unluck our room. The window closing mechnism was boken. The building and room needs to be updated.

Great place for a quick stay. Plenty of parking, clean rooms, friendly staff. We could hear the people taking below in the pub, but it was actually kind of soothing and we got a great night’s sleep.

Great place for the price, but don’t stay in room 5. The noise from the bar, music and talking sounded like it was in the room with you. We had the window shut and earplugs in and still didn’t get sleep until after the bar closed at 2 am.

The room had the sun beating in the windows so it was quite warm when we arrived. Unfortunately, we got in late and had an early flight out so had to go to bed relatively early. You could hear traffic if the windows were kept open so it was a bit hot all night. The room was very clean and had a great sunset view.

Smithton Hotel is in close proximity to Inverness Airport and therefore convenient as a final stop before early flights. I was admittedly concerned when I arrived to see an attached pub, but noise was never an issue and our second floor suite was more spacious than I expected (and with great views). The lack of an after hours attendant would be my only knock and this property is probably not suitable for people who have heavy luggage or find it difficult to climb a flight or two of stairs.

Pleasantly surprised with this relatively reasonably priced hotel located in a quiet suburb (?) of Inverness. It was a short taxi ride from the train and to the airport. The room was very comfortable, clean, and well supplied for the bathroom and the morning in room coffee/tea service. We had dinner there as well, an added bonus when you are staying out in the quiet areas. Peter checked us in an made a taxi reservation for us for the 0430 ride to the airport, thus taking that anxiety off of our shoulders. We highly recommend this hotel.

The proprieter, Peter, was astonishingly helpful. We arrived in the middle of a Saturday afternoon with a few hours to spare, and he volunteered (we would never have thought to ask) to drive us to the Culloden Battlefield and also to Clava Cairn (the stones that inspired the time travel in Outlander). We did not even know about the stones being that close. He stayed with us at the stones, dropped us off at the battlefield and told us how to use the bus to get back to Inverness. This part of our journey has become the highlight of our trip to Scotland, all because of Peter's generosity. The hotel itself is not 5-star (because of amenities, not friendliness of staff), but it is clean and the location is amazing. It was far more than we were expecting. If you are looking for an authentic Scottish experience near some interesting and important sites, I highly recommend the Smithton Hotel! (easy to get to from inverness either by car or by public transport).

Smithton Hotel near Inverness Airport is a convenient and comfortable choice for travelers looking for easy access by car or bus. Located just a few minutes' drive from the historic Culloden Battlefield, it also offers opportunities for scenic walks and hikes in nearby Culloden Woods. Plus, there are plenty of stores and restaurants within walking distance. A key detail to note is the front desk’s limited check-in hours, but once checked in, guests receive both a room key and a key to the main entrance for ease of access. I had the chance to stay twice—once at the beginning and again at the end of my trip. The staff was responsive to my request for a room away from the restaurant and smoking section so that I could enjoy fresh air with an open window. When I returned with my tour group, they accommodated my request as best as they could, which was much appreciated. We stayed here for the convenient location, and had a bit of an emergency. The staff could not have been more kind or helpful. I will make this my regular place to stay every time I am in the area, which is 4-5x a year. Fantastic food too!
We stayed here for the convenient location, and had a bit of an emergency. The staff could not have been more kind or helpful. I will make this my regular place to stay every time I am in the area, which is 4-5x a year. Fantastic food too!

From the moment I arrived, the staff were so welcoming and helpful. Peter went the extra mile and drove me to meet my tour bus when the taxi was not available. You really feel part of the family. Breakfast was made to order! Delicious home cooked food.

Great wee place, I was up early and away both mornings so sadly didn’t have breakfast but both mornings the team went out of their way to offer to make something for the road. Great service and extremely friendly.

Smithton Hotel is in close proximity to Inverness Airport and therefore convenient as a final stop before early flights. I was admittedly concerned when I arrived to see an attached pub, but noise was never an issue and our second floor suite was more spacious than I expected (and with great views). The lack of an after hours attendant would be my only knock and this property is probably not suitable for people who have heavy luggage or find it difficult to climb a flight or two of stairs.

This hotel was perfect for our needs for 2 nights. My initial thought was that the outside looked a bit 'tired' but the interior made up for it. Our room was very nice, bright, clean and comfortable. The shower was great with big towels. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices for a full cooked breakfast or cereals etc. I enjoyed the nice big chunks of fresh watermelon and orange slices. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was on a bus route (we didn't use it) and was only a few miles from Colloden and Clava Cairns. We would stay here again.

Smithton Hotel near Inverness Airport is a convenient and comfortable choice for travelers looking for easy access by car or bus. Located just a few minutes' drive from the historic Culloden Battlefield, it also offers opportunities for scenic walks and hikes in nearby Culloden Woods. Plus, there are plenty of stores and restaurants within walking distance. A key detail to note is the front desk’s limited check-in hours, but once checked in, guests receive both a room key and a key to the main entrance for ease of access. I had the chance to stay twice—once at the beginning and again at the end of my trip. The staff was responsive to my request for a room away from the restaurant and smoking section so that I could enjoy fresh air with an open window. When I returned with my tour group, they accommodated my request as best as they could, which was much appreciated. Breakfast is included, which is a great bonus, making mornings hassle-free before heading out to explore. Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would gladly return to Smithton Hotel on a future visit.

We had a great room, but on second floor, no lift. Staff really friendly and helpful. Food good and reasonable choice. Great location for Culloden and Inverness but in the middle of a residential area. Good for parking. Great for an overnight stay or as a base for visiting the local area.

The owner himself ran the breakfast area (great meals!) and personally offered the use of the washer and dryer for us. One evening dinner service was on the slow side but the food was very good. Andy at the bar was kind and personable. Both gave us tips on places to visit. The room was third floor and no lift but Andy showed us how to open the window for comfort and I loved the little lending library of books. Walls were thin but we slept well. We would stay here again!

Great value. If anything too cheap for the standard they deliver. Room was really clean and bedding was to a high quality and standard. The breakfast was amazing. Great produce cooked fresh as you order.

Was put in an attic room. If you are any taller than 5' 10" beware. Coffee in room was undrinkable. Small bathroom. Breakfast selection very poor. Continental was just toast. Nothing else. Fruit selection was chopped up watermelon.

Très bon séjour, le personnel est très sympathique. La chambre est correcte ( sauf la robinetterie un peu spéciale comme dans beaucoup d'endroits en Écosse). Très bon repas et petit déjeuner. L'hôtel est dans une zone pavillonnaire mais il y a un arrêt de bus juste à côté pour aller au centre ville.

Nice hotel, room was quite small and traditionally decorated but was adequate for a short stay. Shower room was quite small and shower itself a little cramped. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and excellent.

We had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed the services. We recieved good instructions and information on how to get in to the hotel after 22.00. The staff was very nice and helpful when we needed to understand how the busses and connections worked to and from the hotel. We really enjoyed being at this hotel just outside Inverness. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar. The menu offered a wide variety of dishes and the food was good. We stayed two nights and absolutely enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
