5 of us stayed in 2 rooms. We were down for the Springsteen gig, so hotel prices were quite steep. The price of the 2 rooms were excellent so I wasnt holding out much hope but I was pleasantly surprised by our stay. The staff were great, especially Sharon at reception. Very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

The bonus was the free parking facility. It was a good location too so we got into town easily. The rooms were comfy and the staff were welcoming and helpful.

Stayed here for two nights, overall the experience was very good! The customer service was great, staff were very friendly and accomodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable, stocked with plenty of coffee and tea making facilities. The value for money was very reasonable as well, this location is perfect for a cheap and cheerful stay, with ample free parking just outside and a close proximity to the city centre and Utilita Arena (our reason for the visit). I also loved that there is a takeaway breakfast provided every morning; a little paper bag with a pastry, breakfast bar, piece of fruit, yoghurt and a fruit juice box. Honestly there were only two negatives to the accomodation, and considering the cost they really weren't a major issue. The first is that the rooms were starting to look a bit rough around the edges, and our bathroom had a hole in the bath, (which was fine because we were only using the shower). The second is only really a situational negative, and it's that the location is up quite a steep incline from the main city centre. So for people wanting to walk, this may be an issue for some. Overall though, a very comfortable location and great value for money, would definitely come again!

We had a car so convenient to park, easy 10 min walk to Grey street which is hub of Newcastle. Breakfast pack very good for morning starter.

Great overnight stay. Really close to the Utilita Arena. Excellent value for money and parking included. The grab and go breakfast was also a great idea.

Good location.Close to City centre, 15 minute walk or a short bus ride away, bus stop is near to the hotel. 15 minute walk to St James's Park for football. Plenty of free parking on site. Stayed in a large room overlooking the car park serviced daily. Only downside is no cupboards or drawers for clothing. Overall a decent value for money stay that met my expectations of the property. This is a very dated hotel and whilst it’s a good location few minutes to centre it’s so unclean and dated whilst the price sounds good it’s not and not much cheaper than other hotel chains with better ratings. Rooms smelt a cigarette but left in room and stunk of smoke. If I’d of had a room in the newer part I would have been happier. Bedding was clean comfortable bed. The hallways are filthy and the cctv looks at the wall !

This was my second stay at the Rooms Inn. I re-booked after my first visit was a really good experience. The room and price of £43 for a double was great. We entered our room on the second visit and initially it looked fine although not as nice as the first one. It looked a bit dated but the bed and the room looked clean. Another story when using the bathroom. The bath, sink and toilet looked clean but then I started noticing all the hairs. A curly on the sink, top of bath and the floor had a lot of ling hair. Obviously, it had not been hoovered or mopped. A couple would not have bothered me. I went to reception and told the receptionist. All the cleaners had gone home but hesaid he would see whathe could do when we went out. Came back, still there. I got soetoilet paper to clean it up myself and found behind the toilet was dirty.

We were welcomed upon arrival and we were asked for our car’s registration number so that we could park free. We were advised of the free breakfast and where to pick it up from. The stairs to our room were the best stairs we’ve experienced, a generous rise and go. The room has a window which we opened but we did NOT know that the catch could be manipulated to open fully. The room became very warm, hot enough to grow tomatoes in. The carpet-cleaning needs to include right up to the edge of the carpet where it meets the skirting board. There is a layer of dust all the way around. The bathroom needs a maintenance person to install the toilet roll holder properly. There was a light bulb missing in one of the bedroom lights. The shower bay is tight. Can we suggest for some management/staff to stay in your rooms and experience the comforts or not of using a room. See it through the eyes of the guests. Breakfast was good and delicious but lots of eco-miles involved. The twin beds were very comfortable!

Very moisy with other residents slamming doors and screaming. There were insects in the bathroom and the bed sheets were stained. I am six months pregnant and this was not a pleasant experience for me.

The room was covered in dust including the walls and even had cobwebs on the walls.

The room had torn catpets, dirty bed frame. Uncomfortable lumpy mattress and foisty bedding. The shower had mould around the glass. For the price i expected more, i should have gone travel lodge

We left a day early as we could not stay another night here. Mould around the bath and taps, holes in the hotel towels, carpets were filthy, holes in wall and dirty. We were going to check straight back out as soon as we got there but couldn't as we didnt have time to look for another hotel before our gig. Really disappointed would not recommend.

Very basic, bit run down but clean. Handy enough for walk into town if you just need a bed to sleep in and are not looking for any other facilities. Bed was very comfortable

Size of the room

Exceedingly warm room even with window open and a fan on, made uncomfortable sleeping. Bathroom could do with modernising, although plenty of hot water, loo roll holder fell off the wall (fixing screws missing) But its convenient for city centre so guess you get what you pay for, shame the apple in the breakfast bag to go hadn't been washed.

This is a budget hotel with budget rooms, so if you manage your expectations, it’s fine. However, avoid room 101 at all costs. It’s a ground floor single that gets all the noise from the car park and the front desk. And there’s a fair bit of noise, believe me. Use the white noise on your phone and a pair of ear plugs and you’re golden. There’s a bag breakfast on offer, and it’s an easy walk to the train station, though there’s also a bus to central Newcastle just outside the property.

The staff were friendly and the location is great, quite close to the centre. The room was clean, but it could do with some renovation: wallpaper was peeling or missing in places, and there were a few marks on the bed frame. Unfortunately, the bed itself wasn’t very comfortable.

Comfy enough bed and well priced however the lights for bedroom didn’t work, breakfast was disappointing just a bag with yogurt, croissant and apple. Plus could hear everything from the rooms around you

Unfortunately it was the coldest night this year and my bedroom heating wasn't working so the lovely woman from reception said i could change room of give me hear heater so i took her heater also there was a very noisy guest who wouldn't shut up but i did get a sleep in the end

Room spacious carpet near bed a little worn looks like a hole starting to appear, bathroom seen better days . Would be nice if bedroom doors had a slow close as woken up early hours by someone letting their door slam shuddering the whole room.

The older gentleman that works on reception ( was after 2200 on 14/11/2025 )needs retrained - rude and his attitude was awful Pressure of water needs to be looked at / temperature - hot water would scald you if left on longer than 5 seconds

The stay was horrible. There was shouting and banging on the doors till early hours in the morning. It ended with 2 police cars showing up early in morning and someone getting arrested. Didnt sleep a wink!! Room reasonable clean. Shower horrible. Reception at checing in and out were friendly, but night porter very unfriendly, miserable and rude. Will not recomeend staying here to anyone

I was told there was an electric car charger for customers to use. On check in the lady said I could use it. When I returned later and tried to, the night receptionist was very rude to me and said I could not. I explained to him what I had been told and showed him a picture of the comms but he was rude and adversarial towards me.

Firstly it has onsite parking with no height restriction (which was our problem to book anywhere else as we have a high top). The room was spacious and had everything needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is no frills and breakfast is pack-up form you pick up at reception and is adequate. Walking distance to town. For the amount we paid we were more than happy.

Having stayed at this low-end budget hotel many times over recent years for location and value, this had always been my go-to when I'm working in Newcastle. After my latest stay, I doubt I'll ever return. I arrived quite late, and was unable to park my van in the main car park, and had to park in the adjacent overspill gravel car park. I checked at reception if this was ok, there was no suggestion whatsoever that there would be any issues. When I went to leave the next morning, my van had been deliberately blocked in on all sides by staff working in the hotel's head office attached to the hotel. If that was not unprofessional enough as it was, I'd seen nothing yet! I politely reported to reception that I was unable to move my vehicle, the lady on reception was instantly rude and verbally aggressive. She demanded to know which specific car was blocking me in - I said "take your pick" (there were nine of them!). She then impatiently stormed out of her seat, out of reception, and shoved past me to go and look herself while muttering an uncensored "FFS!". She then stormed back past me again and asked one of the staff to move their car. That staff member then came out and did so, making a point of not even acknowledging me. I know customer service is at an all time low these days, but this hotel is on another level entirely. Disgusting way to treat their paying guests, I won't be spoken to or treated like that, and will not be returning any time soon.

Arrived at the hotel around 6pm-ish to find there was noone in reception. Used the phone on the outside to ring and it must've rang through about 40 times by that time 2 families and a solo traveller had joined the queue. Room was freezing on the night time despite me turning radiator up to full so struggled to get off to sleep until 2am. Comfy beds and clean room however, the shower drain was blocked so ended up standing in soapy dirty water throughout my shower. Upon checking out I received a very robotic farewell. Overall good for the price you pay however there could be improvements.

The rooms are basic but clean and tidy. The hotel is very close to the city centre (walkable); especially the teain station. My only quibble was no lift and I had a heavy suitcase as I was returning from over 3 weeks away abroad.

Great place to stay located about 15 minutes from the train station (about half an hour from The Gate and the bus station) the hotel is just off a main road behind Newcastle College. Wasily accessible on foot, the hotel offers a good nights stay away from the noise in the centre of town. The service was excellent, the room comfortable and the breakfast 'grab and go bag' was a nice touch. The hotel took a bit of finding, even with a satnav and an awareness of the City but it is effectively one long road from the train station to the hotel and it is worth seeking out for a great value stay. Customer service was excellent.

Standard stay. Easy check in. Room readily available. As hadn't stayed at hotel before, took some time to work out how the lights worked etc. Bathroom basic. No where to put stuff ie table unless sat behind door to bathroom Shower overflowed slightly so always stood in pool of water when shower running. Hot water way too hot.

Would have preferred they had included in the expedia listing what the breakfast offered was. It is a grab n go bag with croissant, fruit and yoghurt. Overall though it was comfortable and quiet.

Clean room with free parking Breakfast came in a handy bag with had an apple, pastries, yoghurt and an apple juice. Bed was small and very soft and the toilet was extremely low to the floor. I would recommend this hotel as you get what you pay for.

Packed breakfast was quite nice, the room was nice and clean. In general I think the hotel needs a revamp/tlc and this is comparing it to a previous stays few years ago. Staff as always nice and helpful.

The room itself was absolutely fine for what we paid and the beds comfy, just overall a bit dated. However the building is falling apart. There had been a flood and the enteance and hallway smelled really bad. The light well above the stairs was not sealed and flapping open and shut in the wind making quite a noise but we couldn't hear it from the room thankfully. Coming home and getting back in was not ideal. We had to call the night porter bel 3 times before he came out to let us in. The breakfast bag on check out was actually really good and an unexpected bonus.

Issue with the room was fixed quickly. Vegan option for breakfast was "leave everything else and just eat the fruit".

Great overnight stay. Really close to the Utilita Arena. Excellent value for money and parking included. The grab and go breakfast was also a great idea.

Very efficient. Breakfast Grab Bags are ace. Ideal for me today!
