The Down Inn

The hotel is out in country, but is a busy place at times and plenty of car parking. The hotel looks fine from the outside, but a bit tired looking inside. My room was so spacious. It was like a suite. Again, a bit dated, but very clean and tidy. Tea/coffee facilities and TV worked well. Shower had plenty of hot water and some lovely toiletries were supplied. The view from the room over the expanse of flat roofing was a bit scruffy with some long neglected plant pots and other detritus. Breakfast was a delight. The first day I had the full English, but it was huge and piping hot. The next day I had Eggs Benedict. Bacon or salmon??? The lovely staff member said have one of each. They were delicious. Cereals, juice, fruit, etc if you want them. I think the hotel is really good value and I would definitely return if back in the area.

Stayed for one night and it was a great place to stop. Evening meal was great would recommend the Carvery and Breakfast in the morning was also great with plenty of choice. I luckily got given room 10 which is the best room apparently and it was lovely. Very spacious and modern. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Busy little pub with rooms. Everything we needed for a quick stop on our way north. Great breakfast included in the price and large free carpark. The Carvery looked good but we didn't use it. Good value for money and lovely staff. Not flashy but fair price.

Best weekend away ever

What a lovely find! Our room was amazing ( room 10), more like a suite. It had its own sitting area as well as the bedroom and large bathroom. It was well maintained and beautifully decorated. The staff were friendly and there was a great selection for breakfast. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay again. Thank you Down Inn for a lovely stay.
