The bathroom had visible mold. When I brought this to the front desk employee, Nick, I was told it was “normal,” which was a surprising response. When a Hotels.com representative later spoke with Nick, in my presence, and asked if other accommodations were offered, Nick told them that they just didn’t have anything comparable to my original room. I don’t mind an older room or minor issues, but a clean, mold‑free space is a basic expectation, even if it is a 2-star motel. Thanks to the condition of the bathroom and the bad customer service, we stayed at the DoubleTree instead. It was a comparable price and a far better experience.
