My stay at the hotel was terrible because of the noise from the bingo and live music below our bedroom. I would not recommend this place to anybody.

From the minute we arrived, we was welcomed by amazing staff. The place is beautiful and the hotel room was perfect. Bar manager Will did an amazing job and polite. The food was delicious and fresh. Highly recommend and will definitely be back in the new year.

The hotel was charming but thats where it ended. Bed was worn out very uncomfortable mattress. Dust and grime on all the walls in and out of the room. Bathroom was worn out, some damaged to shower and tiles etc but shower was nice and powerful. Tv remote didnt work. Bar closed an hour early. Breakfast was continental instead of hot. Bread and muffins used from the day before. Breakfast items not stocked, poor choice of cereals, bread and pastry, no fresh fruit etc. Overall a bit of a let down. Also they told us they hadnt yet been paid and that it was up to us to sort that out. Bar area had toilets which had out of order urinals, broken toilet seat, toilets with no paper.

Hotel has so much potential. Lovely rooms & excellent food. Visit spoilt by social events catering for nearby chalets & mobile homes. So loud impossible to sleep & events going on till midnight or even later. Hotel doesn’t seem to have decided what sort of clientele to cater for but trying to please guests & chalet/mobile home just doesn’t work.

This country hotel is in actuality a clubhouse for a static caravan park, with a building sight outside the main entrance, loud music blasting out and the allocated room looked at a rubbish yard. It was so bad we chose not to stay and asked for a refund which was not granted by Hotels.com with whom we are in despite as the hotel was not as advertised or as shown in the website photograph.

Needs a lot of upgrading. Rickety chair, handles on drawers and wardrobe loose and hanging off., windows that wouldn't open/close. Booked family room, 2nd bed was a sofa bed with very thin mattress with gaps between mattress and springs - perfect for getting little fingers and limbs stuck in! We were told 3 days before arriving that kitchen was closed, so no food and no breakfast (which was Inc in price). Bar closed at 8pm. Rather depressing, even for February!

Food took ages to come out only to be the wrong order for one and the other was burnt. The entertainment was far too noisy when we were trying to sleep, it was vibrating the bedroom and went on until midnight.

The room was amazing, the en-suite was beautiful. However the toilets flush needed pressing both 2/3tokes to flush. The WiFi didn’t work in the room or where we ate. First morning we didn’t get a choice for breakfast and they didn’t have any milk to drink. My tea was made for me. Nothing was on offer, you had to ask for everything. Second day they ran out of ketchup. Service was slowish. The second day we ran out of toilet paper and no one knew where it was kept. Not sure they were ready for guests. But beautiful room, bed was super comfy!

I’m writing to complain the condition of your hotel rooms and request to have refund for my stay of 1st night on 24th May in the Shakespeare room. I appreciate your ambition to serve more types of customers by refurbishing the old building to many well-decorated hotel rooms. However, both rooms we stayed have no sound-proof at all. We stayed in a room right above the main dining area on Sat, a karaoke night for the weekend. Once we stepped into the hotel at 11ish, our ears soon started to ache as there were 2 oversized speakers with overwhelming volume in a small dining hall. We rushed back in our room to escape from the noise but it made no difference. We asked staff when the party would be finished and they replied at 12am, then we went to shower. We went to bed and finger-crossed that the music stopped after 12 but diners stayed downstairs kept talking till 1:21 am. We closed all the windows but the floor and walls are so thin that it seemed they’re chatting at our bedsides. Your hotel was not properly designed and built for acceptable room service in addition to negligible sound proof toilet ceiling was too low, no shower head holder nor shower curtain, we needed to squat/kneel during showering but floor was still all wet the door lock was not working properly of the room we stayed on 2nd night Arranging activities without considering other users in respect to negligible sound-proof rooms, the party should have been ended earlier .

Overall not bad, but things let it down. Phone signal is awful, and there if no Wi-Fi as described. Great area with lovely views. Read reviews from earlier this year about the cleanliness, and hoped that as many months had passed this would have changed, but sadly not. The whole place needs a deep clean. Dust, spider webs, dead insects, clothing tags found all over the house. Vinyl floors all slippy and dangerous. Reported an issue with downstairs toilet light that still wasn’t resolved and we left. Main bedroom roof blind not working. Hot tub wasn’t switched on earlier enough, so was not warmed up until the day after arrival, which wasted a night for us. There are two rooms that are empty apart from filing cabinets, also unsafe with a broken step. Such a waste. Has potential, but needs some care and attention, which being on a park where lots of the owners love you are made to think they don’t care about the tourists. Wouldn’t recommend or return.

we didn't get the room we requested, the shower leaked across the floor, no bath mats were down so we had to use towels to dry it up, the cord on the light in the room snapped and we couldn't turn the light out, so I had to remove the bulb to go to sleep on a night. the breakfast and main meal was undercooked a little pink inside and egg was really runny. the only saving grace was the girl who looked after us, she was lovely and friendly and really helpful

Leider super schlechter Service, keine Reinigung zwischen den Tagen, Personal unfähig. Wir mussten beim Auschecken ewig warten, obwohl alles bezahlt war, da die Dame dies nicht fand - man kam sich sehr doof vor. Alles super alt und in die Jahre gekommen, Badtür lässt sich nicht schließen, ….

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was in a lovely location . The room was spacious but certain aspects of the room were poor. The bathroom had a cut off bit of carpet as a mat and it was stained. The were areas of the walls that were also stained with marks.

A hotel I would not probably use again…too remote. Very quirky….not very attentive staff….bedroom spacious but bathroom on a different level with hot water not easy to regulate on the bath!

Fabulous location! We stayed in 'Tower' and the room was enormous and full of character. We only stayed one night as we were attending a wedding reception nearby. Was only expecting a continental breakfast (alluded to on the Hotels.com website) but were very pleasantly surprised, and grateful, to receive a Full English. If we are oin the area again, we'd definitely return!

We closed all the windows but the floor and walls are so thin that it seemed they’re chatting at our bedsides. Your hotel was not properly designed and built for acceptable room service in addition to negligible sound proof toilet ceiling was too low, no shower head holder nor shower curtain, we needed to squat/kneel during showering but floor was still all wet the door lock was not working properly of the room we stayed on 2nd night Arranging activities without considering other users in respect to negligible sound-proof rooms, the party should have been ended earlier .
I’m writing to complain the condition of your hotel rooms and request to have refund for my stay of 1st night on 24th May in the Shakespeare room. I appreciate your ambition to serve more types of customers by refurbishing the old building to many well-decorated hotel rooms. However, both rooms we stayed have no sound-proof at all. We stayed in a room right above the main dining area on Sat, a karaoke night for the weekend. Once we stepped into the hotel at 11ish, our ears soon started to ache as there were 2 oversized speakers with overwhelming volume in a small dining hall. We rushed back in our room to escape from the noise but it made no difference. We asked staff when the party would be finished and they replied at 12am, then we went to shower. We went to bed and finger-crossed that the music stopped after 12 but diners stayed downstairs kept talking till 1:21 am. The hotel was charming but thats where it ended. Bed was worn out very uncomfortable mattress. Dust and grime on all the walls in and out of the room. Bathroom was worn out, some damaged to shower and tiles etc but shower was nice and powerful. Tv remote didnt work. Bar closed an hour early. Breakfast was continental instead of hot. Bread and muffins used from the day before. Breakfast items not stocked, poor choice of cereals, bread and pastry, no fresh fruit etc. Overall a bit of a let down. Also they told us they hadnt yet been paid and that it was up to us to sort that out. Bar area had toilets which had out of order urinals, broken toilet seat, toilets with no paper.

Food took ages to come out only to be the wrong order for one and the other was burnt. The entertainment was far too noisy when we were trying to sleep, it was vibrating the bedroom and went on until midnight.

Advertised as having a restaurant, but on arrival it was closed so I couldn't stay at the hotel ad it is in the middle of nowhere. I was promised a refund by the receptionist but it never materialised. I messaged the hotel but they did not respond. I think this is dreadful customer service and would advise avoiding the place altogether. 0/5.

From the minute we arrived, we was welcomed by amazing staff. The place is beautiful and the hotel room was perfect. Bar manager Will did an amazing job and polite. The food was delicious and fresh. Highly recommend and will definitely be back in the new year.

We have stayed in a caravan at Woodlands Hall but this was our first stay in the Hall.. It was lovely! Everything was Five Star.. In particular we’d like to thank Will who was so helpful! He was friendly and helped us sort a spare bed.. 🌟

Leider super schlechter Service, keine Reinigung zwischen den Tagen, Personal unfähig. Wir mussten beim Auschecken ewig warten, obwohl alles bezahlt war, da die Dame dies nicht fand - man kam sich sehr doof vor. Alles super alt und in die Jahre gekommen, Badtür lässt sich nicht schließen, ….

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was in a lovely location . The room was spacious but certain aspects of the room were poor. The bathroom had a cut off bit of carpet as a mat and it was stained. The were areas of the walls that were also stained with marks.

Fabulous location! We stayed in 'Tower' and the room was enormous and full of character. We only stayed one night as we were attending a wedding reception nearby. Was only expecting a continental breakfast (alluded to on the Hotels.com website) but were very pleasantly surprised, and grateful, to receive a Full English. If we are oin the area again, we'd definitely return!

This country hotel is in actuality a clubhouse for a static caravan park, with a building sight outside the main entrance, loud music blasting out and the allocated room looked at a rubbish yard. It was so bad we chose not to stay and asked for a refund which was not granted by Hotels.com with whom we are in despite as the hotel was not as advertised or as shown in the website photograph.

The room was amazing, the en-suite was beautiful. However the toilets flush needed pressing both 2/3tokes to flush. The WiFi didn’t work in the room or where we ate. First morning we didn’t get a choice for breakfast and they didn’t have any milk to drink. My tea was made for me. Nothing was on offer, you had to ask for everything. Second day they ran out of ketchup. Service was slowish. The second day we ran out of toilet paper and no one knew where it was kept. Not sure they were ready for guests. But beautiful room, bed was super comfy!

we didn't get the room we requested, the shower leaked across the floor, no bath mats were down so we had to use towels to dry it up, the cord on the light in the room snapped and we couldn't turn the light out, so I had to remove the bulb to go to sleep on a night. the breakfast and main meal was undercooked a little pink inside and egg was really runny. the only saving grace was the girl who looked after us, she was lovely and friendly and really helpful

I stayed at the hotel. A beautiful large room better than expected. The hotel also features a bar/club so be prepared for noise if you want to get your head down before 11pm. Breakfast was a bit haphazard. There was no breakfast buffet which would have been a bonus and quite frankly, is not difficult to arrange. The breakfast was poorly cooked with no finesse - broken egg yolks, food swimming in lots of grease and the water from the poached eggs soaking the toast - oh dear! Evening meal nothing to write hom about but adequate. May sound a bit negative but an improvement in the food would make this a five star review. Everything else was great. Lovely room, lovely location and very well kept grounds.

If you stay in the hotel itself please be aware that very loud music is played in the bar area downstairs right below your the bedrooms, this will continue till 11.30/12pm you cannot have early night. The bedroom was very nice, clean, well maintained and very comfortable beds. Are room was a twin, 2 steps down into the bathroom, shower over the bath, very small bath, could not get cold water from the bath taps so used the shower head one. Breakfast is a strange affair, Saturday morning no problems. Breakfast cooked to order, tea/coffee & juice brought to your table. No other breakfast items available ie: ceral, toast, fruit etc. Sunday was a bit shambolic, 45 mins for food to come out, no teaspoons on coffee/tea cups, just felt understaffed. The lady that checked us in & was about a lot trying her best to fulfill every role was excellent. The pool was lovely, brand new (no towels provided) you have to leave in your wet gear as no changing rooms as such.. The place could be a hidden gem but as a hotel only it gets taken over by the holiday caravan guests. Feels like the hotel is an after thought and if you want a relaxing break your enjoyment gets pushed to the side. Bingo, karaoke & entertainment is not for everyone but no escaping it.
