The Neon Elm Hotel

Fue algo compleja la comunicación porque solo te responden chatbots. Hubo varios malentendidos. Limpiaron mi cuarto y tiraron mis cosas a pesar de que avisé que no me iría porque yo mismo había reservado la habitación otra vez porque necesitaba estar más tiempo. No me repusieron lo que tuve que comprar otra vez. El suelo no se veía barrido ni trapeado, incluso había una uña de mujer en el suelo. Las toallas sí estaban limpias.

Clean compact room with all you need. Nice location, near the airport. I liked that it was self service to check in & out. Staff was responsive, attentive & helpful through the app. Definitely recommend it!

I really enjoyed my stay. Even though close to the airport I never found it to be too loud. Beautifully decorated. I was able to self check in and out. Conveniently located. I would recommend an OCHO Mexican burrito about a 2 min walk away. CVS is right behind as well. This place was great and we will definitely be staying here again on our future trips to see our sailor!

If you need a clean, simple stay and you are on a budget, this place is perfect. Pros: located in downtown, low prices, parking, perfect for couples, great atmosphere Cons: old building, A/C, room size, communication (see details below) The communication method is pretty much entirely through messaging. This can be a lot for someone who isn't tech savy, or someone who likes hotel service interactions. The building is very old, and the decor inside is really rustic and regal - but some of the units do not have AC units. When I stayed here, the first room we had did not have an AC unit and only had a ceiling fan. Our room did not get below 85 degrees, and the windows did not stay open - so no air flow. I reached out to the hotel via online messaging, they were extremely responsive. My only gripe was the fact that most of the communication was conducted via messaging. That being said - they were able to reassign us to another room with an AC unit and were extremely efficient through the process. All in all - if you are traveling on a budget, if you only have 1 or 2 people traveling, and you want to stay in downtown San Diego - this is the perfect place for you. The overall experience was great, and I would be happy to stay again.
