the room was fine, reasonably modern in a very old school hotel. However the shower was freezing...only saved by having a bath where the water was hot

The check in was slow as no staff were about and had to wait for a while. However staff were welcoming and helpful and approachable. The room itself was basic but met the requirements for us. It was quite hot at night and the curtains didn’t do their job very well resulting in our daughter waking at 5.30am. The towels were of a reasonable standard but could do with being replaced. The room was facing onto a main road so traffic noise the next morning was noticeable and woke us up. Breakfast was limited but cooked breakfast was nice choice and came quickly and hot.

Hotel is a little tired in places but the owners are clearly expending effort and money to refresh and modernise it. Our room was clean and with a recently refitted bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. We would stay in this hotel again.
