Self check in via a coded entrance at the rear of the hotel was the first challenge and when we finally mastered this, we realised that the hotel was unstaffed and we were faced with climbing two sets of narrow winding stairs with our luggage (no lift - not mentioned prior). The advertisement for the hotel clearly shows "restaurant". what it doesn't say and what you don't find out until you arrive is that it does not provide any evening meals and there is no bar. The Welcome pack in the room has a printed leaflet advising this and suggests the alternative of the Roebuck Inn which is a short walk from the hotel, which my wife visited, only to find out that this establishment has been closed for some time. With no staff available to ask about other alternatives, we had to resort to getting back in the car (after an already long driving day) to look for somewhere else to eat. This, on a warm spring Saturday evening proved impossible as everywhere was full and instead of a relaxing meal, we ended up over an hour later with fish and chips - not what we had anticipated at all. Poorly advertised with incorrect and misleading information and although the room itself was adequate, not value for money. More information from both Hotels.com and the hotel website should explain the above fully.

We stayed 3 nights, found check in easy as code is last digits of phone number. Room was clean, tidy and cosy, plenty of space. Bed was a little to soft but was ok. Room a little dated but as under new management understand that in time they probably get updated, would hope plug points be closer to beds if renovated. Shame the bar area isnt open as we were down visiting and had to go elsewhwere to meet friends. Carpark ok but the potholes on way in are extreamly deep and had to avoid the van parked end of entrance also. Not so easy to manoeuvre around with the potholes also trying to avoid. Door from carpark into hotel could do with a soft closing spring as from 630 onwards all it done was bang with pwople entering or leaving the building. Breakfasts were delicious plenty of options and enormous helpings, could perhaps offer yoghurt and musili also. Will rebook when returning as good location for our needs and no noise.

The 'self check in' is very impersonal, no staff on site at all until breakfast time. There was no evening meal on offer, I had to go to the local pub for food.

Decent enough area with buses into town centre if needed or a 20 minute walk. Good parking, clean enough but very basic room. Tea and coffee making facilities. Fairly comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast by a lady who seems to have to run the place on her own. Overall stay totally let down by the fact no hot water was available either on the evening or in the morning so no shower and even the cold water ran at a trickle which in my opinion is totally unacceptable. Spoke to the manager/owner and whilst he apologised did not offer a refund of any sort. Would not stay again as my impression is this hotel is run from a distance and will only get worse in the future as it appears a little run down now.

Only a couple of things that let it down 1, was the personal greeting when arriving which did not take place on this visit ( has taken place in the past). 2, Needed the bar open or requested when we came back from the event that we attended , for a nightcap. Otherwise it meet my requirements and I will visit again when in the area if someone answers the PHONE ( the main drawback). Hence only 4stars.

Car park round back of property. Great entrance instructions via email. A bit dated on stairs and hallways. Room was tidy, bathroom dated. Lots of coffee, milk etc in room. Breakfast was great, multiple choices. On the whole a good stay.

Good: Quiet, convenient location, easy parking, comfy beds, really excellent breakfast. Not so good: No-one on reception after 2pm, felt a bit unstaffed (but the breakfast crew were very friendly). Also, WiFi/TV reception was a bit hit and miss (but that's a first world problem, not a biggy).

The property, unfortunately, has seen better days. My room had missing vertical blinds and the bathroom had broken vertical blinds. Visible mould in the sealant around the bathroom window. Rusting radiators! Took an age to get hot water to the shower and then was only a dribble - very hard to shower. Large gap beneath the rom door let lots of light in and the doors slammed when let go - glad I had earplugs! The code was given to use for a self check in did not work so I had to call to be given a new code to get in the building. It was however cleaned well each day by the staff and the staff I saw at breakfast were friendly and the breakfast was ok.

The hotel was ok until i found a dirty sock under the shelving in my rooom , so i checked the bed to.make sure it had been changed yes it had, but the sheet protector was not clean had hairs on it so i put it on the floor,but when i spoke in the morning to a member of staff she sorted the room , the choice of breakfasts was good ,service was good

The hotel is no way a three star at the very best it only a two star And the communication was very poor as we were not told about a change of room to after we phone management. I Also felt that the sheets on the bed are not clean and we decided not to stay that night because we thought the hotel was so poor

The room was damp, paper peeling off the walls, bathroom dirty. Bed most uncomfortable, we had booked for two nights but only stayed one. A very disappointing visit. Will not use this website again.

I was very disappointed at our ‘deluxe’ room. It was very small, our view was a wall and really nowhere to put clothes. Not deluxe in my opinion. the bathroom was lovely good quality and clean and the breakfast was brilliant. I personally didn’t like the ‘let yourself in’ system but it worked

The hotel needs a little TLC and perhaps renovation, but the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was ok, but the shower was not very powerful and the tv was super small and quiet.

Ideally located for my business trip however the shower was terrible on this occasion as no pressure, just dribbled out. No one one site to speak to about it and they must know it was not very good.

Positives: Competitive price and a good breakfast. No issues with late check-in. Negatives: Some problems with the door code entry but thankfully there was someone to speak to (at 9.30pm on a Saturday night!) so that was resolved quickly. Soft bed and hot room.

Extremely odd and impersonal as all checkin, room, checkout is through electronic door locks - quite efficient but feels like nobody cares. Did not see a soul from arriving to leaving.

The hotel was a self checknin and as we booked through a third party(Hotels.com) we disnt get a code to enter. We had to call a tel number on the board outside. After a few dead calls we eventually got a call back and were told the code. Woukd have been a better experience if we had the code. But was ok

Once I had worked out how to get into the hotel the stay was pleasant. Room fine with comfy bed. Staff at breakfast friendly and food was good.

Ideally located for my business trip however the shower was terrible on this occasion as no pressure, just dribbled out. No one one site to speak to about it and they must know it was not very good.

Good: Quiet, convenient location, easy parking, comfy beds, really excellent breakfast. Not so good: No-one on reception after 2pm, felt a bit unstaffed (but the breakfast crew were very friendly). Also, WiFi/TV reception was a bit hit and miss (but that's a first world problem, not a biggy).

We stayed 3 nights, found check in easy as code is last digits of phone number. Room was clean, tidy and cosy, plenty of space. Bed was a little to soft but was ok. Room a little dated but as under new management understand that in time they probably get updated, would hope plug points be closer to beds if renovated. Shame the bar area isnt open as we were down visiting and had to go elsewhwere to meet friends. Carpark ok but the potholes on way in are extreamly deep and had to avoid the van parked end of entrance also. Not so easy to manoeuvre around with the potholes also trying to avoid. Door from carpark into hotel could do with a soft closing spring as from 630 onwards all it done was bang with pwople entering or leaving the building. Breakfasts were delicious plenty of options and enormous helpings, could perhaps offer yoghurt and musili also. Will rebook when returning as good location for our needs and no noise.

Decent enough area with buses into town centre if needed or a 20 minute walk. Good parking, clean enough but very basic room. Tea and coffee making facilities. Fairly comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast by a lady who seems to have to run the place on her own. Overall stay totally let down by the fact no hot water was available either on the evening or in the morning so no shower and even the cold water ran at a trickle which in my opinion is totally unacceptable. Spoke to the manager/owner and whilst he apologised did not offer a refund of any sort. Would not stay again as my impression is this hotel is run from a distance and will only get worse in the future as it appears a little run down now.

Front of house was very friendly and chatted to my partner about his car. Made us feel very welcome, room was lovely and clean. Nice quiet hotel that makes you feel relaxed. We brought our dog and she wasn’t bothered by noise at all so that was a bonus.

I was very disappointed at our ‘deluxe’ room. It was very small, our view was a wall and really nowhere to put clothes. Not deluxe in my opinion. the bathroom was lovely good quality and clean and the breakfast was brilliant. I personally didn’t like the ‘let yourself in’ system but it worked

Self check in via a coded entrance at the rear of the hotel was the first challenge and when we finally mastered this, we realised that the hotel was unstaffed and we were faced with climbing two sets of narrow winding stairs with our luggage (no lift - not mentioned prior). The advertisement for the hotel clearly shows "restaurant". what it doesn't say and what you don't find out until you arrive is that it does not provide any evening meals and there is no bar. The Welcome pack in the room has a printed leaflet advising this and suggests the alternative of the Roebuck Inn which is a short walk from the hotel, which my wife visited, only to find out that this establishment has been closed for some time. With no staff available to ask about other alternatives, we had to resort to getting back in the car (after an already long driving day) to look for somewhere else to eat. This, on a warm spring Saturday evening proved impossible as everywhere was full and instead of a relaxing meal, we ended up over an hour later with fish and chips - not what we had anticipated at all. Poorly advertised with incorrect and misleading information and although the room itself was adequate, not value for money. More information from both Hotels.com and the hotel website should explain the above fully.

The 'self check in' is very impersonal, no staff on site at all until breakfast time. There was no evening meal on offer, I had to go to the local pub for food.

Car park round back of property. Great entrance instructions via email. A bit dated on stairs and hallways. Room was tidy, bathroom dated. Lots of coffee, milk etc in room. Breakfast was great, multiple choices. On the whole a good stay.

This is a no frills place, and we knew that going in. However, we came into a room with a dirty towel still in the bathroom and the room was freezing. We called someone to help, and they eventually called back, but since they were not in the area, they couldn’t really help. The beds were ancient. The morning breakfast was the only saving grace, and the worker there was extremely nice. I felt bad for her trying to deal with the multiple complaints. If a little more care was put into the place, we would recommend it, but we had a very rough night after a long day of travel.

Late booking for a cycle meetup in Skipton. Emailed the hotel as wasn't sure how the self check in would work and the emailed back quickly with the instructions (these were already sent but ended up in another folder. The room was clean, i booked a single and it turned out to a be a double, that was a nice surprise after the day cycling. The room was in the top of the hotel so had a pitched ceiling, it didn't bother me to much as i was pretty much in and ready for bed. The room was a tad noisy, bit of a creaking floor and some of the guests arriving or coming and going could be heard but still slept pretty soundly. Breakfast was my first interaction with someone face to face and the ladies were lovely and very attentive. Breakfast was good and cooked well, lots of options for cooked and continental, The coffee was a bit weak, but that is probably just an individual thing.
