Ocean Coast Hotel at the Beach

Building is old. Needs work done to it. Parking is ridiculous. There is a hudge parking lot not even half full but you have to pay $10 a night to park its not free. There is no bar inside like advertised its been closed down and the hot tub is broken. The breakfast in the morning is not the greatest, the food is okay. But the room is tiny and you have to squeeze in and out to get food. Very limited on places to sit so you end up taking it back to your room. Best thing i can say about the stay is its close to the beach. You can walk around instead of drive.

Room was nice, clean . TV remote was very finicky. Volume control not working nor channel selection. Some lamps had no on/off button. Biggest disappointment was website said “heated pool “ That was false, as water was colder than the ocean up the street. And lastly, and most disgusting was the parking fee of $10. which although other hotels in the area are also doing the same predatory practice, IN 60 YEARS OF HOTEL STAYS HAVE NEVER PAID FOR PARKING ANYWHERE IN THE U.S. !!!

Good stay, clean hotel, and friendly staff. Con: the jacuzzi was not working and the pool umbrellas need to be replaced.

We really enjoyed our stay! Staff was super helpful in recommending things to do. They also have bike rentals, umbrella and beach chair rentals and V pizza is right outside the front door. The rooms are just ok, don’t expect a resort or anything, but it had everything we needed. Excellent pool and hot tub, too! Will absolutely stay again!

The location was great. We could walk to the beach, Sliders, and ice cream easily. We borrowed bikes from the hotel everyday and were able to keep it all day without charge. However, be aware that there is a daily parking fee and resort charge which adds up. Also, the hotel beds are not very comfortable and it’s more of a “motel” vibe. Fine for the price.

This isn't one of the fanciest hotels in the area, its slightly run down. However, its in a great location, the rooms were clean, and the staff was very pleasant. The breakfast selection was good. They have a nice pool and hot tub area. A good hotel for the price

The staff up front was excellent!! The breakfast through the week was excellent!! For the most part it was very quiet every night. The only thing bad was no hot tub, washing machine didnt ring out clothes that good, and thd bar was gone,

The staff and location were the highlight of the visit. The hotel is dated but clean . The amenities are kept up nicely with pickleball courts and a nice pool area in good use . It’s evident the company cares about maintaining the property in good order. Even though the rooms are not updated it’s nice to have an affordable option so close to the beach . The hot breakfast has a great variety of choices with Robin doing a great job overseeing the cleanliness. We would stay again .

The room was dated which would have been fine but it was also not clean. There was hair in the sink and bathtub, the toilet had urine around the base of the seat. The floors were dirty, the only saving aspect was we were tired and the bed was clean. The only towels provided were 2 bath towels, one hand towel and one washcloth. The hot tub was not operating. To top it all off we paid $10 per day to park in an empty parking lot. We were seriously underwhelmed and will not book another stay there.

It took 20 minutes to check in after I sent two messages requesting a downstairs room! I called on the way to the hotel to ensure that my crippled mother would have a downstairs room since they never replied to me messages & was promised a downstairs room facing the pool easy for my mother to walk to breakfast. Upon arrival the room wasn’t reserved as promised & I got the run around. We ended up in the back of the hotel. Roaches, filthy, people outside your room at all hours! Parking $10 a day but there’s glass in the parking lot and garbage around! Black hair was in my bed the day of check-in the floors hadn’t been even swept! I went to the dollar store & bought bleach spray to clean the toilet & tub myself. The floors I don’t know when or if they’ve ever been mopped! In room 112 the room beside our there’s was knocking ppl going in and out 10 to 12 up to 1 am sometimes every 15 minutes. There’s a homeless couple living in the woods beside the hotel! PLEASE seek other accommodation! Cleaning every 3 days but it wasn’t even cleaned when I arrived! Soap dispenser holders with nothing in them! Two ppl 4 days one tiny shampoo! Hand soap like wax! About $600 for beach area I realize economy price but this place isn’t even worth $50 a night much less $150 plus!

The front desk was helpful, but we didn’t stay. The hotel was filthy, there was a cockroach in our room. Needless to say we did not stay

The hotel seemed reasonably priced, which was my initial draw, however I was charged double what I expected. I paid for my stay through Expedia when I booked it in March, and then was prompted to pay for my stay again upon arrival. This was not just a hold that’s standard with hotel stays. It was the whole stay twice. On top of the frustration of having to pay twice, the room was pretty dirty. The bed felt sandy, and the bathtub had not been cleaned at all. There was shampoo in the bottom of the tub still from the last guest, or at least one would suppose. The room was spacious and I appreciated how close it was to the beach.

They sent me a pre check which asked your name and res # to complete on their website . The res # is not the same as hotels .com so I couldn’t do it . Had to call them . When we got there to check in first 2 rooms they gave us smelled moldy . They gave us a third room and it smelled better but I think they used air freshener in it before we went in . We stay 2 days . We never got our room cleaned or fresh towels . The tub shower didn’t drain they did fix that for us . The bathroom door didn’t close . Probably the most annoying thing was charging us $20 to park $10 per day . No where does it say that on hotels .com. The parking lot is enormous and was about 20% capacity at most . All the beaches that surround the area don’t charge for parking !!! They are probably the only ones who actually charge in the whole town !!! The bed was comfortable . The breakfast was decent . The room was large- we got the deluxe . It was one block from the beach .

We checked out this morning and will be back! The clerk at front desk was awesome and good at his job. The facility is actually an older motel, not a hotel, but in great condition. Room was spacious and clean with a fresh smell. Bed was comfortable and linens were clean. Plenty of towels, etc. Pool is really big and clean. Full breakfast was really good. The location is perfect and a very short walk to the beach. You walk out of parking lot and turn left and you can see the beach. While walking to the beach you pass 2 really great seafood restaurants. There’s even a souvenir shop right there. So we never even cranked the truck from the time we got there until we checked out. We walked to the pool, beach, shopping and food! PERFECT!

Property has not been kept up, trash cans by the pool smell terrible, long black hair in the bathroom and all over towels. You should not have to pay to park, the hotel does not offer valet so you should not be charged to park.

This property is not properly represented in the photos displayed on Travelocity site or on the hotel's Facebook page. Our room was not clean, the furniture has stains on the arm rests, the tub was very disgusting and had paint flaking off of the bottom of the tub and tile walls, the hotel room door was bowed at the bottom and would not shut properly, Trash was in the bottom of the tub as well and the sheets on beds were wrinkled as if someone had visited before us. Floors were scuffed up as well. The overall vibe of the place was sketchy as well. Do not be fooled by the images you see of this place online. In person it does not hold up. Basically dirty, unsafe hotel. If you rent through this through travelocity you can get no refund once you show up and want to cancel reservation due to conditions. So beware. We could not get our money back at this point. We did not know anything about the area upon our arrival and were very disappointed. We left because we would not spend one night in this place. Better options are in the area for your stay. All of the positive reviews you see do not align with reality. Renter beware!

My first room was horrible. The tub was not clean. There was mildew on the wall and around the drain. Housekeeping did come and try to resolve the mildew. Then I saw mold on the ceiling. I requested to be moved and I was moved to a different room. My second room was technically cleaner but it still felt dirty, worn and outdated. The owners need to make major renovations to this place so it can be worth the price they charge.

Hotel was nothing like I imagined after looking at the website. It was a very basic motel similar to that of a motel 6. Though the rooms had been updated they are not kept clean. We had something gross and moldy that was poured on the walls near the beds that were never cleaned off. Spider webs and gunk in the corners and down the wall. The chair in the room smelled awful. Hair in the sink and some in the sheets of the bed. The mattresses were hard as a rock. And im pretty sure they have some people who actually live there full time bc multiple people had chairs just sitting outside their room smoking cigarettes and drinking beer. The only good part to this hotel was the pool was large and clean with ample deck chairs. We were supposed to stay all weekend but checked out after the first night. When asked why we were leaving early and after explanation it was just a simple oh from the man. Not a horrible place if ypu have no other option and just need a bed for a night but not something to book for a family vacation away.

The room was okay. I liked that the mini fridge was hidden in a cabinet that contained the microwave. The room was uncluttered. AC unit was loud.

Room was clean however the shower head was dirty/rusty, TV remote was broken so had to use the TV itself to turn on/off/volume/change channels.

Our refrigerator didn’t work - and then started draining water into the floor. Called the front desk and someone showed up immediately and swapped it out. Fantastic customer service from the front desk Not the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on but the price was great.

Just be aware that this was a motel, not a hotel. The name is a bit misleading. If you are okay with staying in a motel, this place is great! It was super close to the beach, not directly on it, but probably a 3-5 minute walk, and there are more beach ports with a few parking spots nearby. The room was as clean as could be! Also very close to the historic downtown. For the money, it was definitely worth the price!

Need to make sure that all the rooms have working televisions And make sure that all the bathtubs are clean and functional

They should invest in regular pillows instead of half of the pillow never have stayed somewhere before that had Such small pillows for your bed

Great location to the beach, and the pool and hot tub are nice. The bed was broken in either end and too soft overall. Fixtures in room and bathroom were well past their prime. That said, the breakfast was very good.

The beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were thin and small. Only nice thing was it was walkable distance to the beach.

Room was clean. Bathroom is in need of a remodel, and plumbing was slow to drain. Breakfast was good there were a variety of foods. You can hear people outside like they are in your room.

Staff was nice Bed was hard and pillows were the size of throw pillows. We had a king size bed.

Check in was not online, no phone entry as stated on adds, you do have a key. Breakfast was ok, staff ok. Actually didn,t get a room till 5:00, because they weren't ready. Overall it was ok,but not great.

The room was clean, parking are easy. The check-in process was horrid. The owner needs to make some major changes...like hire extra people! People were getting furious over waiting sooo long in line because there was only 1 staff member.

Didn't get a room. The reception was completely messed up, couldn't find keys, was issuing temporary emergency keys,. Sibafter waiting through the backlog of people awaiting check in and finnaly getting to me, she gave me a paper to sign with several conditions and extra hidden charges to initial and sign that i read and signed. I then asked about all the hidden charges were not advertised where then she accused me of having an attitude because i asked about them. She then proceeded to deny me entry and refuse a copy of paper. She already had my credit card fo "incidentals" which i objected to leaving on their computer. They said they would credit me for booking and incidentals charge but then reneged saying i needed to take it up with expedia though i booked through hotels.com. I've yet to have chance to follow up here and with my credit card provider to see what they charged me! There was a bussed group of foreign speaking "employees" that were clocking in at same time i was being thrown out and threatened with police action which i promptly said to go ahead and call them since all i did was ask a couple of questions about surprise charges. They accused me of being rude because i asked questions and escallated incident, denying me a room or other recourse for me to leave. They did finnaly give me a copy of paper i signed but refused any other documentation so i assume they will keep my money! Hopefully i can get restored by hotel app. We shal see!

I showed up at 4:45 to check in and my room was not ready! I asked the man at the front desk when it would be, he said “I have no idea, I’ll call you when it is”. I had been driving for 5 hours and just wanted to lie down but instead went and ate with family. I finally called at 6:15pm and asked if my room was ready yet. He said, “oh yeah, I just checked”. So I basically paid $135 for a 15 hr room stay. Besides that, the property was run down and people were throwing parties outside of their rooms and the hotel did nothing about it. I will never return. The worst part is, I was there to scatter my brothers ashes with my family. The last thing I needed was that kind of headache

Check in is at 4…I was there by 1. I asked for a first floor room. I don’t believe everyone was checked in by 1. She told me all 1st floor rooms sold out. I was there 3 hours ahead. I wasn’t asking for an early check in. Just a first floor room. The check in was unreal. Took forever to check people in. Then we had to pay a $10 car park fee per nite. We should know that using the app. Not happy with customer service.

Check in took almost a hour. Was assigned a room that someone was already occupying. After trying to see if 3 other rooms were available we finally found one. Once entering the room we saw a roach by the kitchen sink, Alive. We went for dinner and when we got back our keys for the room did not work. The front desk guy said he accidentally assigned someone else to the room and they must have used the card. He had to give us new cards. Thankfully our belongings were still there.

Great location right across the beach and a couple really fun restaurants/bars on the beach. The room was very nice and the pool was large and also very nice and clean. Right next-door is an awesome pizza place. We really enjoyed our stay.

So here's the deal...you get what you pay for. For the price, (cheaper than most you'd find in the area) it was fine. The staff? Not too helpful. Especially with asking for a towel, which I always got a different answer why they had none available. If I knew that, I would not have put mine on the floor, over the sand, only to have to reuse it for 3 days. Check in? Weird. I called first to ask for an explanation of how to do the digital key thing and was told to fill everything out online before 4...the check in time. Tried to do it. Couldn't. We got there early, which I KNEW we couldn't check in, but I was just ASKING how to do it with the digital key and all. Was told I had to fill out all the info prior to getting there. Which I did several times and could not get to the key part. I was freaking out, thinking I couldn't get in the room. Only to go to the front desk at 5 p.m. and , oh hey...I got a physical key. The first person I talked to never said that was an option. Also, was then directed to our room which was behind the check in, so we didn't walk through building. The next morning we went out for breakfast because, oh hey, with the price we paid for the room, I didn't think there was a breakfast, Because, oh hey...we were not told when we checked in that there even WAS a breakfast. (as usually at establishments they tell you pool hours breakfast hours, etc.). When I walked around on the other side of the building I saw a sign hours for breakfast.

Breakfast was great breakfast area was very clean and no shortage of food Robin was wonderful outsides areas were clean and well maintained. Common areas also very clean.

The motel was an older one, but was updated somewhat! It was very clean and comfortable! The pool area was clean with a lot of chairs and umbrellas. The breakfast was well stocked for a continental breakfast, including biscuits and gravy, as well as microwaveable burritos, etc. The staff were friendly and courteous! I have no complaints whatsoever! I was a little worried about the $34.95 resort fee per person per day, but there was no such thing! The girl at the front desk wasn’t even aware of what I was talking about! It is listed on their website, but it is not an issue! One more thing… the shower pressure was amazing! I will definitely stay here again!

Stiff bed. Sink area wasn't properly cleaned. Great location but place needs an upgrade. No toiletries. Room was a tad bit stale upon arrival.

Very friendly staff place was clean. The only real downside was the so-called breakfast bar. It was cereal, bagels muffins cold boiled eggs.for microwave burritos. There was very little pressure out of the shower head.

We were in town for a half marathon race and just needed a place to stay that wouldn't break the bank. While it wasn't the fanciest place, it did it's job. It was definitely conveniently located to everything and the breakfast selection was very good.

Hotel was fine as a regular beach hotel. Two items a would suggest to change: 1. Breakfast was pretty lame considering that I was charges $180 /night. 2. Charging parking per night is ridiculous. You either include that in your price or eliminate this extra charge. Looks like a low way to take $10 extra per night/guest.
