A lovely hotel in the centre of Carnforth. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room with good facilities, selection of tea and coffee in room. Modern shower room en suite which was spotless. Excellent restaurant facilities, bar and small garden to sit in. Rooftop terrace to enjoy a drink too

We spent two nights here as a family of four and really enjoyed it. The room was lovely and clear and plenty of space for us all. We did not try the food so cannot comment but did experience the roof top terrace for a drink which was fabulous. Would recommend to anyone needing accommodation in the area.

Stay for one night, happy with everything. There are 8 7kw BP Pulse charging ports around the hotel and 1 50kw charger within 50 meters. Good to have a car fully charged in the morning when depart. Parking are all on street

Lovely hotel clean and tidy room ,great breakfast. Parking at the train station close to hotel only £4 for 24 hours ,not really any parking around hotel,station not far away though. Lift for easy access to bedrooms.

Did a quick 1 night stop over. Would stay here again staff helpful and friendly. Plenty of entertainment on all day and a band on in the evening. Food was very good and breakfast as you would expect. Even the price was ok

Met my requirements. However the hotel doesn’t have its own car park as suggested when it requests your licence number. You park in the street or pay at the nearby station. The hotel is dated but very tidy and the restaurants are good. Staff are very good. Dinner and breakfast both excellent.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. We were cycling Morecambe Bay and were so relieved to be allowed to park our bikes in the secure dry garage.

This is a disgusting hell hole that is to be avoided. I can only imagine that the positive reviews on here are from staff or friends and family of the owners. We arrived having booked their best room. We opened the door to be met with a very heavy musty / mouldy smell. I opened the french windows to the "sun terrace" - itself covered in mud and leaves and next to an extractor fan from the kitchen- in the hope of letting some of the smell out. I sat on the bed to find it so creaky and rickety it was clearly not safe - and nobody could ever sleep on it as it was. I opened the bathroom door and was met with an even stronger smell of damp and mould. I went to reception and they agreed to try to change our room. We went out. 2 hours later we came back, were given keys to the new room and went up to find it was a typical builders room in a builders hotel. Tiny, red hot, worn carpet, tiny bed and a massive puddle on the bathroom floor from the leaking radiator. Disgraceful. I went to reception and said we weren't staying and requested a refund. They said Hotels.com would have to do the refund. Hotels.com tried to contact the hotel - they ignored them - so I haven't got my money back. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Very warm welcome received on arrival. Nothing too much trouble. Room was clean and well presented. Food was beautiful. Lots of choice for breakfast and service was excellent. Very impressed and would definitely recommend.

Close proximity to the train station, food was good in the bar downstairs, not too expensive, hotel was clean, only do wnside was the non existent WiFi. Otherwise, had a good short stay.

Lovely clean room in a historical building. It's creaky and quaint. The bed was rather high but a step was provided on one side. The cleaner used in the bathroom was quite overwhelming with fragrance. Awesome shower though!! Additional breakfast was nice. Be aware that although there is parking it is NOT dedicated parking and you either have to find a spot on the surrounding streets or pay to park at the train depot which is reasonable for cost but expired at midnight and you have to renew the fee.

A really nice hotel, in a great location in a lovely town. Lots of useful shops on your doorstep and as it's name implies next to the railway station. Our room was comfortable having had a recent makeover including the ensuite. All good. You can tell the owners were working hard to make their business a great place to spend some time. The only downside was the connecting door to the next room. There appeared to be no sound insulation to them (2x modern, lightweight, honeycombed 'cardboard' ones?) so you could hear everything our neighbours were talking about. Great if you need to hear what your children are up to, but not so with strangers. Solid doors lined with noise reducing plasterboard on the blind side might be an inexpensive solution and worth the effort.

Our room had a street light right next to the window and was like Blackpool illuminations! They’re fittings for a blind so assuming that there was one at some point. Very little sleep so avoid room 15. The room was small but that didn’t bother so much as we were only there for a stopover night. The restaurant was closed due to ALL kitchen staff being on holiday and breakfast costs £12 making it comparable rate with other places we stayed that were far far better. My advice would be to check your room for street lighting’

It’s an old building, so the floor creaks. But it’s been well renovated. Nice little touches we especially like: big mugs, plenty of tea bags and milk sachets, good food in either a bustling family bar or a quiet restaurant, friendly efficient staff.

The hotel was full of character, neat and clean and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was of an extremely high standard. The only downside we found was that the television and internet were not working properly while we were there although we understood that this was due to circumstances beyond their control. However, this was a minor inconvenience when set against all the positives we found.

A very average hotel I wouldn’t stay here again On arrival they never had my booking At breakfast the staff was minimal On check out no one was on the front desk, I left and forgot to pay for my breakfast then went back to pay but they were quick to chase up a missing £12 but the over all service was poor.

Excellent service from start to finish by everyone at the hotel. Glen literally went the extra mile, collecting some of our family members from the wedding reception at midnight as they struggled to get a taxi! Only slight negative was the single room i was in. A bit tight for space,even for a single. Comfortable enough though for 2 nights. Good supply of tea, coffee, bottle water. Iron and board supplied when requested. We all ate in the restaurant, good food, well presented and served by friendly helpful staff on a very busy night. Really us all enjoy a lovely family get together to attend my granddaughters wedding. Thank you to Glen and your team. 😊

Lovely hotel, staff were very welcoming and Accommodated our late arrival and family queries. Comfy beds and good facilities. Lovely town with station and cafes/shops very near by. Worth bringing earplugs if you like to have a window open as there were some dogs barking all night and the trains were quite loud (but not frequent overnight) A lovely stay and we want to come back if we can!

We had a very comfortable stay in this hotel. The staff were very friendly. It is convenient for nearby sights such as RSPB Leighton Moss. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely stay at this traditional railway hotel close to the station, the Heritage Centre and the town centre. Excellent food in the restaurant and all the staff very friendly and welcoming. Standard room was comfortable and cosy. Would definitely stay here again to explore this area.

Amazing hotel, excellent service by Glenn and Molly! Very clean, comfortable rooms. Quiet and convenient location. Will certainly recommend.

Warm welcome. Well appointed compact room. Very comfortable bed, with pristine bedding. I slept well. Although overlooking a busy daytime road junction the room was quiet at night. Transport and shops all located close-by. A morning smile from reception staff.

Outstanding food in the restaurant!! Fabulous staff and fun locals. The room was very hot and the fan supplied struggled to cool the room. I’m told that this is a rare problem in Carnforth.

Did a quick 1 night stop over. Would stay here again staff helpful and friendly. Plenty of entertainment on all day and a band on in the evening. Food was very good and breakfast as you would expect. Even the price was ok

Short stay here but everything was great. Food in restaurant was brilliant and staff couldn't have been more attentive and friendly. Room was great, good sized shower and all amenities on hand. Breakfast was great and happy to cater to dietary requirements. Would definitely stay again

Nice stay but unfortunately there was only breakfast available as the resident chef was on holiday. Pizzas were available in the early evening from a mobile pizza van. The food is said to be amazing when available. We had a lovely room with a great walk in shower. The staff were nice and helpful.

I had a very comfortable 3-night stay in a single room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom very useable. I had the continental breakfast which had a wide selection and was good value. The only comment I would make is that the Hotels.com listing says that there is air conditioning, but there is not.

Whilst this hotel had lovely clean rooms and nice staff/food etc, I picked it because according to hotels.com, it had onsite secure parking and a lift. On arrival, we found it hard to park and were told there wasn’t any onsite parking and that we should use the train station or wait for a spot to be free in the area. Also, I have some mobility issues but as the description said there was a lift, I thought there would be no problem… however when we arrived we found that the lift only goes up one floor and we were on the third floor. The hotel was full so we couldn’t change rooms.

My husband and I are aged 75, we were given a room on the top floor. The lift only went to the first floor so we had to walk up a further 2 flights of steep steps. Fortunately we’re both still actively mobile. The room had a window in the roof which we could not open so had to use a fan. It was so hot in the room the fan was on all night making it difficult to sleep because of the noise. We were there for 2 nights and there was no housekeeping. We should have been told on arrival that it only happens every 3 days, but of course we weren’t. Very disappointed.
