Good accommodation in the annex but be aware the stairs are steep and narrow to the upstairs rooms. There is very limited parking for 5 cars, so we had to park on the street during our 3 night stay. We ate dinner in the hotel once during our stay, which was average. We had breakfast once during our stay which was good but not outstanding. This hotel is part of a small chain, and having stayed in several of the other hotels in the chain I’d say this hotel is slightly below the quality I’ve experienced in the other properties.

The room was comfortable and reasonably clean, we did have a damp/fusty smell which was reported to staff. Plenty of choice at breakfast, which was lovely and staff attentive.

Great hotel, great location, and even better staff - what a tremendous stay. If I ever come back to Helmsley, I would rebook here without a thought.

We had an excellent stay in the hotel right from our arrival staff were able to help and explain about parking etc. We had an absolutely fantastic room 33 with our own outdoor space to enjoy a drink or a coffee / tea in the morning. Large bed was amazing after our day driving and the beautiful roll top bath with plenty of hot water. The restaurant and bar area are friendly spacious with an excellent selection of food options. A fantastic stay we will definitely return to this hotel and have no problem with recommending a stay at this hotel to anyone.
