Good location and stay was going well, until 8am on my check out day. When the housekeeping opened my door and tried to enter the room, slamming the door against the latch lock, startling everyone awake, including our 6 month old. We confirmed with the front desk, that we were not checked out or on the list for them to clean. And our do not disturb sign was on the handle. Could it have been a mistake, sure. Could it also have been a weirdo trying to do who knows, it’s possible. I won’t be staying here again. Also their pool was out of service.

The room tv was not working so they move us to another room no apologies they have me go to the receptionist to get the new card the new room tv remote did not work the a/c thermostat did not work one of the lights by the bed did not work the ice maker for the floor did not work the room bathroom cabinets the paint was peeling the wall paper was peeling the curtains has holes the pool was close The over all experience was terrible the only thing good about the hotel is the location but everything is old and it needs to be updated for the price that we where charge I was definitely expecting so much better

Location Location Location - love staying here. Best restaurants are in walking distance as is shopping and the Pier. Used the pool for the first time and enjoyed the solitude and amenities. Note, they will be going through a renovation in the next 18 months so some things have aged. Don’t let that stop you from staying here. Still a great value.

I was shocked at how worn down this Hampton Inn was. Bedroom (#327) furniture were scuffed and banged up. The chairs were stained. The lobby had peeling vinyl banquet chairs. Frankly, ive seen nicer furnishings at Goodwill. floors were dirty and carpets matted & sticky. The only good things are the location & TG the bath towels were clean.

The property itself is older and have not gone through any modern upgrades. However, the bathrooms are large and the rooms are clean. There is a large area downstairs for breakfast. I found the staff to be friendly. The best part of this hotel is the location. There are plenty of walkable restaurants and bars within the 2 blocks of the cute downtown area. There are a ton of cute little shops, although most are only open until 5pm during the week. A free public parking garage right behind the hotel provided plenty of parking. Both the room and the hotel itself was quiet during the two nights that I stayed.

Stay was great. The morning breakfast was very good. Staff was pleasant and very accommodating. I would like to suggest that some of the common area furniture (chairs) be replaced/updated. It's time.

Noise from right outside our window due to construction and dirty floors were ridiculous. I have stayed here before and it was not this awful. The location is fine and parking is easy, but our room overlooked a building about 15 ft away and the hammering started before 7am along with loud talking right below our window. The room seemed fine but when I went to put my shoes on, I couldn’t believe how dirty my feet were just from walking on the floor while I was getting ready for the day. That felt gross and the proximity of the construction workers, heavy equipment and all so close to us was unacceptable really. My son didn’t feel safe there so he couldn’t sleep either. We love coming to Fairhope and this hotel is super convenient to the town and the Bay. We stay at Hampton Inn often and have come to expect at a minimum that we will have a clean and comfortable room and that staff will be professional and helpful. Lately that has not always been the case.

Parking was not explained on the description, so upon arrival you have no idea where to go. Luckily I guessed correctly to go to the parking garage in the back. The room was dirty and had a smell to it. Carpets looked gross. Uncomfortable bed. Only reason this hotel still gets business is located and the lack of other options.

Room/bathroom was filthy. Room smelled. Bugs in room and breakfast area. Loud outdoor trash pickup 2 of the 3 nights we were there (around 4:00A/5:00A both times). Extra towels requested were not delivered. Noticed that top part of every hallway light on our floor was broken. Didn’t affect our stay, but looked bad and implied very little or no maintenance. Almost no water pressure in shower. My wife could not even wash her hair. Wallpaper peeling off the wall in bathroom.

First impressed when you walk into the hotel is weathered upholstery in the lobby)breakfast area. It was really unattractive and why it hadn't been fixed is perplexing. In addition, we forgot spare socks so bought new ones and they became filthy walking around the room for a couple hours..we threw them away. The staff is outstanding! Everyone we encountered greeted us and was friendly with good recommendations. Beds comfortable, bathroom clean. Breakast good with several choices. Outstanding location right in the middle of everything. Upkeep would make it a 10.

I liked everything about the property except the view. When you open the window curtain, there is a brick wall and that is all you can see. I was told that there were no other rooms available with a better view except the balcony rooms. That was disappointing.

The room had some cleanliness issues, like dusty lamps. Staff didn’t always greet me—out of 6 walk ups to the elevator from outside, only 2 times did I get a welcome, which made the experience less warm. The property appeared clean overall, but the worn-out banquettes in the dining area were uninviting. In my room, there were a few problems: the door didn’t close automatically, which led to it being left open a couple of times. This is a safety issue that should be fixed. The air conditioning unit was also noisy, like a train starting up. I reported it, and while a repair person came, the noise was still present, though quieter. I found that keeping the AC at a higher temperature helped, Despite these issues, the stay was acceptable.

We were given a room with scaffolding, bricklayers and machinery 10 feet outside our window despite the hotel being less than a quarter full. Someone tried to enter our room while we were sleeping due to front desk rebooking the same room. (Again, hotel was quite empty). When we went to desk to get new room keys as ours had been deactivated because of their error, the young man at the desk did not acknowledge the error or even say hello and give eye contact while preparing new keys. Desperately in need of training. When we checked out they couldn’t verify our booking because our room was under the name of the person they rebooked it with in error. No one at desk for check in for first 30 min. Room was warm & never cooled down during night. Parking is in a parking garage. It’s a bring your own luggage in hotel. Breakfast included which was good. Outside of hotel w gas lanterns is pretty. As were the flowers.

Good location and stay was going well, until 8am on my check out day. When the housekeeping opened my door and tried to enter the room, slamming the door against the latch lock, startling everyone awake, including our 6 month old. We confirmed with the front desk, that we were not checked out or on the list for them to clean. And our do not disturb sign was on the handle. Could it have been a mistake, sure. Could it also have been a weirdo trying to do who knows, it’s possible. I won’t be staying here again. Also their pool was out of service.

Beautiful hotel. Enjoyed the bar area as well. Only complaint is I requested a blanket at night and was told it would be brought up but it never arrived. Tried to call guest services back and they stopped responding.

We showed up to the hotel for my daughter’s wedding weekend which we had booked this 7 months ago for them to tell us they had no reservation for us. The clerk was extremely rude and basically said there was nothing she could do even though I had all the confirmation codes ect. Cause a ton of unnecessary stress.

We stated there several times in the past month. It's the perfect location for an Eastern shore visit and Fairhope specifically. The service is excellent. We encountered a room issue whuch was resolved very quickly by the competent staff.

I was greeted by Jordan at the front desk and she was great! The room was very comfortable and clean. And the breakfast selection was huge! The location is outstanding downtown. We walked everywhere.

I loved the downtown location. It’s close to shopping and nice restaurants. I parked on the street, felt good about that. Fairhope is a safe town. Loved the cotton bed covers and the bed was comfortable. The only outside sitting area is in front of the hotel.

Hotel is in the best location in Fairhope and the staff is very friendly. Some lobby renovations going on but nothing major; however the hotel is aging and rooms need updating. Very clean tho and comfortable.

We stayed in a handicap-accessible room without a balcony. It was clean and plenty spacious- exactly what we needed! There was a functional ice machine on each floor (this has been an issue in other hotel brands). Very near elevator, but not noisy at all. Air conditioning kept the room cool in October. Refrigerator seemed not very cool, so we upped it 1 notch and froze a few drinks. I figure that was our fault. The bathroom had plenty of room, low shower lip- exactly what we needed. We forgot deodorant but it was complimentary at the front desk! Breakfast was excellent at 06:00- tasty little blueberry scones, muffins, standard hotel continental; and standard scrambled or boiled eggs/ sausage/ bacon/ potatoes, etc. plus cold cereal. Salsa, ketchup, etc available. Coffee choices included a Bold roast, mild roast, decaf, hot water/teas. Pink, yellow, white, blue sweetener options; I always carry Stevia myself. Fresh cold 2% milk option. Individual servings of creamer. My husband complained that the potatoes were hard at 09:00 (I figure that's on him) but the rest was excellent. Great stay!

The property itself is older and have not gone through any modern upgrades. However, the bathrooms are large and the rooms are clean. There is a large area downstairs for breakfast. I found the staff to be friendly. The best part of this hotel is the location. There are plenty of walkable restaurants and bars within the 2 blocks of the cute downtown area. There are a ton of cute little shops, although most are only open until 5pm during the week. A free public parking garage right behind the hotel provided plenty of parking. Both the room and the hotel itself was quiet during the two nights that I stayed.

This could have been higher. Disappointed that the room did not come with balcony though Hotel.com said it did. I'm noticing a trend that when I book by third party I get the worst located rooms. I'm going to go direct from now on. Hotel was well located. Easy parking and walk to many restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was surprisingly good. Staff was friendly and happy. If you are up to paying a little more, look at the Grand Hotel. We toured this historic hotel and it was wonderful. But not walkable to downtown. Everyone in Fairhope was happy and friendly, great place to visit.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, especially the breakfast staff. The breakfasts were a cut above the usual chain restaurants. The beignets from Panini Pete’s and conecuh sausage were nice touches. We’ve stayed at this hotel several times for up to a week at a time. The location in downtown Fairhope is a draw. Unfortunately, the hotel needs major updating. Cushioned chairs in the breakfast room are threadbare. Our bathroom looked in need of complete updating. We heard there is new management so hopefully they’ll make property renovations a priority.

This seemed like a typical Hampton experience. It was nice and a good value for the price, especially since t's located in the central shopping and restaurant area of Fair Hope. Parking was in a covered garage and very convenient. My reason for not giving it a five is that our room showed some wear. The coffee table was nicked, the curtains hung a little unevenly, towels were a little stiff and thin, and the sheets on the bed seemed not quite wide enough for the king-sized bed. These are small things that did not detract much from our stay. We would stay there again if the price was right, given the location

Room was clean, great staff.hotel needs upgraded. Carpet in hallway needs to be hardwood floors..it is old and filthy. The wallpaper in hallways is diirty and peeling. Needs paint, new wallpaper, very out of date Great location Expect more from Hampton inn in such a nice town

the room smelled so bad, I had to spray cologne all over and allow the A/C to push the cologne through the room, just to be able to sleep. Wallpaper peeling off the walls, stains on the rolling chair, all the booth seats in the dining area need to be reupholstered, ice machine out of order on the 4th floor. A positive note, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was excellent, the highlight of our stay, lol!
