Cardiff Riverside Hotel by Belvilla

Good location (within 10-min walk from the Cardiff train station; within 15-20 min walk to the Cardiff Castle). Whereas this is a budget hotel, it has a friendly, competent, resourceful, and responsive staff, which makes all the difference. There is no lift in this 3-story, modest construction. The equipment in the room and the private bathroom, both of which are clean, is basic but sufficient to me. The room includes an electronic kettle, which enables me to make my own coffee/tea. If you are not looking for a luxurious hotel room and plan to spend most of your daytime seeing Cardiff, I find this hotel a good option. With the money that I saved from this booking, I stayed for an extra day and could travel at ease, which is in and of itself a luxury.

Walked into the room which smelt of weed. Broken bed, room looked very run down, scaffolding up outside room window, very noisy night, didnt sleep at all, cost £81 for the night, wish i hadnt bothered

The bathroom was scruffy. The fire alarm went off at 3am and it took the staff 40 minutes to deal with it. The kettle was burnt so the water wasn’t ok to make tea with. After a night of no sleep, I asked to leave my bag and they said there’s a charge of £5

Det fanns ingen tid parkering i närheten och ingen mat på boendet eller i närheten. Jag fick betala 200 kr och gå 15 min för parkering och lika dåligt med maten på morgonen.

I was looking for a place to stay overnight for a group of 3: at ~£27 each, this hotel was completely acceptable. LOCATION Less than 10 minutes to walk to Central station (and therefore the city centre), so that was all good. ROOM Basic yet spacious. The beds were comfortable enough. FACILITIES The ensuite was up to standard- same can be said for the shower. We had a telly and basic tea/coffee making facilities. FINAL COMMENTS Note to management: don’t spam people for reviews.
