Most concerning was the fire safety issue. I noticed that a smoke alarm was covered with tissue paper. This is potentially very dangerous because it could prevent the smoke alarm from working properly in the event of a fire. I believe this presents a serious safety risk that should be addressed immediately. I am very disappointed that the hotel did not match the description and that there appeared to be such a significant safety. The hotel was not as advertised. The booking pictures showed a restaurant, but when I arrived, there was no restaurant available. This was misleading and affected my stay. I was also disappointed to find that the hotel had no lift, which made accessing my room difficult.

If i knew it was self check in , i would never of booked. Unattractive exterior clad in scaffolding and met at reception, by a French lady guest upset as she couldnt check in. A very nice young fella rocked up off his break and helped me check in via websites etc etc. He saved the day where i was concerned. Room was very shabby....clean but worn, flaking paint in the shower, some of the electrical plugs didnt work , black marks on the nylon carpet etc etc. We were a bit disappointed in the quality considering we did not go cheap ref the room rate. Never again and will check reviews if i ever have to use this chain again.

The location is the only plus point if you’re at an event at the castle or somewhere central. This hotel is extremely shabby and not very clean. The shower wasnt really useable and had lots of hair from previous users. The check in process wasnt slick as no codes were shared, luckily we managed to catch a fleeting staff member to help us access the property. It’s in a noisy location and didn’t feel very safe. Overall it cost too much still for what it was.

No staff. Door worked fine first time but was very tricky later on and had trouble getting into the front door. Decor was very tired. Shower was great and worked fine but tiles were cracked. Beds were ok but obviously well used. Fan provided which was great as room was very hot. Room was nice and quiet. Convenient for city centre.
