We had a really good 2 week stay at the Candlewood Suites. It’s a low-frill, affordable place to stay. Conveniently located, with some amenities (gym,laundry). The folks working the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. Parking was easy.

Great hotel & exceptional service at front desk. Not full service but good if you don’t need that. Just complimentary basic coffee in lobby which is fine (not breakfast) & Kitchenette came in handy, but food scent can linger in room. Great place for the price and close to Univ of Buffalo (North Campus).

The room was nice, the staff was very friendly, but.....they only cleaned the room once a week.....I stayed there 12 nights. Had to go down to the front desk to get clean towels. Ran out of toilet paper twice. The place just wasn't managed very well.

It appeared clean I noticed after I slept on the bedding there were stains on it on the side I didnt sleep on. Specks of hair were in bathroom. Other than it was safe. Also be careful I got a ticket in their parking lot.

Room had used towels hanging on back of bathroom door when we first checked in. Also had to ask for more towels since there were not enough. Out of hand soap…hand to ask twice before it got refilled. Lastly, had to leave the window open for a bad smell in the room

Candlewood Suites a nice stay for a quick weekend trip to WNY/Buffalo. It is conveniently located near major routes and easily accessible Free coffee 24/7, a convenient snack shop, and GE microwaves in the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The one drawback - the wifi was out my entire 4 day stay. I was able find work arounds and it was the weekend so it wasn't critical for me. Weekdays would have been more of a problem. Things happen. Wifi goes down, but this was a long outage.

The front desk manager and staff were friendly, helpful, and answered many questions. The cleaning staff were very helpful too. The bedding and bathroom linens were fresh, clean, and fluffy. The bedroom was very comfortable and spacious. The living area, sofa, recliner, bar stools, and computer swivel chair were clean and comfortable. The kitchen was clean and a generous size, I could accomplish a lot, and my stay was relaxing and productive.

This was just a quick overnight stop over on our way to Canada but we enjoyed how comfortable and roomy everything was. We had a full size refrigerator in our room, a desk with two comfortable chairs and even a toaster. We slept so well. Everything was perfect!

Nice clean spot to rest your head, great to have kitchenette with dishes, cutlery etc. second stay here this year and won't hesitate to return. Our TV didn't work though. Didn't stay long enough to get it addressed, but that was a little annoying.

We came to the hotel to get relief from the extreme heat and reserved a 1 bedroom suite. The air conditioner was in the main living room, there was not anything in the bedroom. The design of the room was that they put a hole in the wall near the AC unit in the living room and screwed a vent cover on each side of the wall that went from the living room to the bedroom, which was a terrible design. The coolness only dripped into the bedroom, so we had to leave the bedroom door open (which was a problem for my autistic daughter who needed the door closed). Even with the door open the coolness was limited and made it difficult to sleep. The overall hotel was clean, the employee we encountered was nice and helpful. The room was comfortable, except for the heat.

Front desk person on at 9 pm was not very interested in doing her job. It wasn't busy but she was unwilling to book an additional night, - Told me to get the morning staff to do it. This is the reason I went to a different hotel the next night. Front desk = sales. Not willing to make a sale, what are you doing there? - go work somewhere else....

I was actually very surprised. Yup. I am a VERY HIGH status with another TOP 2 HOTEL BRAND and I must admit this place exceeded even some of the other hotels best regular rooms. Because of where I had my appointments today, this hotel was in closer proximity than where I usually stay in buffalo. The Host Nathan was very professional and helpful. I did tell.him I was quite satisfied with this place. So I strongly recommend staying here.

My only regret was using Expedia to book the room. The Hotel was great. I made a mistake while booking and Expedia wouldn't let me fix it. The Hotel was understanding and worked with me.

The lobby and room were clean. But there was often no one at the front desk. At night when it was dark out anyone could walk right into the lobby without needing a key card. And while it’s next to a couple other hotels, it’s also next to a motel that has windows boarded up. Not sure if it’s even in business. One night a man was sprawled out in a chair in the lobby asleep. I didn’t feel safe as a solo female.

The lobby and room were clean. But there was often no one at the front desk. At night when it was dark out anyone could walk right into the lobby without needing a key card. We came back from dinner, and before heading upstairs to our room, we asked that extra blankets/sheets and pillows were available for the pull out couch and was told yes.. we got in our room and settled in, got ready for bed. Starting looking for the blanket/sheets and pillows and found a pillow in bedroom on floor beside chair and random pillow case in front closet.. so we called downstairs (called 4 times- kept going to out voicemail) finally on the 5th try someone answered- we asked about the linen and was told to check the couch - we opened it up and it was completly bare - she then advised us " okay well we have them here at the desk.." i answered " oh we have to come down and get it???..." Yes - well had to get changed to go down and get our blanket and linens.. not what i expected, any other hotel would have brought up missing items to the room.. not great service 😕

Candlewood Suites was fine but it was next to Red Roof Inn which had families that appeared to be living full time. Clothes were hanging outside, a lot of noise from kids playing in the parking lot. In a corner adjacent to Candlewood it looked like a homeless encampment.

Lobby and rooms were clean. Front desk was polite and helpful. Very convenient to UB Flint road entrance. Right behind this hotel however is the Red Roof Inn which really brings down the property value. I don’t know if people live there or not but we saw laundry hanging on the balcony and some sketchy looking activity. Otherwise this hotel is good. I love the fact that the rooms have kitchenettes and refrigerators. Would stay here again.

Was a bit reluctant about staying here as I had never stayed at a Candlewood hotel. To my surprise it was a very nice place, clean, convenient to airport, shopping, and not far from Highmark Stadium. They even let us check in a bit early, which was very helpful. Will definitely stay again.

Candlewood Suites a nice stay for a quick weekend trip to WNY/Buffalo. It is conveniently located near major routes and easily accessible Free coffee 24/7, a convenient snack shop, and GE microwaves in the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The one drawback - the wifi was out my entire 4 day stay. I was able find work arounds and it was the weekend so it wasn't critical for me. Weekdays would have been more of a problem. Things happen. Wifi goes down, but this was a long outage.

For a long stay, it is very good with small kitchen, frige, dishwasher. The chair coach that extends is great to have a quiet time and watch TV. To be able to borrow movies and devices from lobby is great. there is no restaurant in the hotel but small booth to get frozen stuff and free coffee. Area has some businesses and the University campus just walking distance

Staff were very friendly and parking is free. The suites are nice , with the kitchenette. But the sofa bed is very uncomfortable... Costa coffee was a nice bonus too.

Stayed here 2 nights so that we could spend a day at Niagara Falls as we traveled east for mountain biking. The kitchenette was well equipped for our needs to cook our own meals.

Great hotel & exceptional service at front desk. Not full service but good if you don’t need that. Just complimentary basic coffee in lobby which is fine (not breakfast) & Kitchenette came in handy, but food scent can linger in room. Great place for the price and close to Univ of Buffalo (North Campus).

GM Bree and the team made me feel very comfortable and safe. I was staying with my elderly mother and their support and kindness was invaluable in my caregiving tasks.Favorite aspects are the cleanliness, free satisfyingly coffee, free laundry, as well as the gym and gazebo when I could get away for some self care. My one quibble is the shower in our accessible suite. It was missing a piece to attach it to the wall and " on order." With me there to assist my mom, we made it work, but if a person was alone, it could quite a trial. I encourage you to keep such supplies on hand. Much gratitude to the Staff at Amherst Candlewood Suites for their help and understanding.

The good: Room was clean and what you'd expect from a hotel. Staff was pleasant. Free laundry facilities, which is awesome! We chose this property for the kitchenette, since an early flight meant we wouldn't be able to use a continental breakfast. Kitchen included full fridge, small stove top, dishwasher and was reasonablly stocked for a hotel. The bad: What in the cost cutting nonsense is up with the air conditioning units?? We walked into our room and it was hot. Go to bump the thermostat down but it's already at it's lowest - 65°. We thought the unit must be broken so we went down to request a different room. The girl at the desk was very nice, but let us know that all of the rooms are that way. Apparently their units are designed to "sense" when someone is in the room and turn themselves off when it's empty. But that means that every time you leave it gets hot. And if you sleep through the night, it gets hot. And the units do not cool well enough or fast enough to recover from that. Needless to say, we did not use the blankets. Also, beds were very firm. We were happy to only be spending 2 nights here.
