I liked the look of the cabin motel and that there was a balcony to sit out on. I did not like stairs, which are steep and sloped. My 84-year-old mother was having a lot of trouble navigating those and they didn't have a room to switch us to. The bathroom toilet didn't flush very well, tile around toilet was cracked, and sink was hard to turn off and on (mother was not strong enough to operate it).

Old property, poorly maintained. Road to log cabin is badly rutted. Parking area is too narrow. Internet is spotty and keeps dropping out. Lost my reservation. Only 1 packet of coffee for 3 nights. Bathroom sink is leaking and rotting out the bathroom floor and vanity. Instead of fixing it they just put a bucket under the sink. Badly needs some fixing up.

It was an average stay. Check in was easy but there was a little uncomfortable moment between the women checking me in and a gentleman offering directions. Pictures on the website made it appear to be better kept in regards to the play area and pool. It was a convient place to stay on the way to tweetsie railroad with decent prices. Overall i have no major complaints.

The grounds around the hotel are really nice. If you have a dog, in the back there is room to run for them. It was pretty quiet and it was really easy to navigate. Beds were clean, however there was a pillow in the closet with hair from a dog all over it. The down side was that the facility has not been updated in many many years. There was a yellow jacket infestation on the back porch and we had to move the chairs to the front porch where you sat out in the open and had to see the people coming in and out. The lamp had no light in it and the shade was filthy with weird stains. The bathroom was really small and the toilet was located right in the middle of the bathroom. No vending, if you want ice you have to go all the way to the front office and if you are located in the back it's quite a hike. Front staff was relatively friendly.

*The bed slept great! *The location for parking was very tight. *The TV was too small, but the cable service (ie., the channel guide and number of available channels) was excellent. *Coffee pot and cups were good; however, there were no coffee packets in the room upon our arrival. When we called about it, we had to go get it ourselves…..possibly no room service available? *There was no ice machine at our lodge and the ice maker in the main office generated ice very slowly. *The room in general was rather old and dark and in need of major updates. *The price seemed high for the quality of the accommodation.

There were roaches everywhere. I did not have hot water the evening I checked in nor the following morning I checked out. Maintenance said it was due to many people using the hot water at the same time. I’m positive there were not many people using the hot water at 11:00pm the night before. I asked for the owner / manager to return my call to resolve issue before I send this review. It’s been 2 weeks now without a response from management.

We were not disappointed. The staff was very friendly.. love the woman with the British accent..The Cabin Cottages are so cute and cozy and were clean. Our room had a large hot tub, gas fireplace, sofa, and a mini kitchen.mini kitchen

The photos online are misleading. The room smelled of mold. The bed frame was made of vinyl that was ripped, cracked and exposed materials that could not be cleaned or sanitized. The bathroom was covered in hairs that been there from many previous stays.

Rooms are outdated by 30 years. Doors were hard to open and close. Walls are paper thin, you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are doing. Whirlpool is extremely loud.

The ac didn’t work in the first room, then we were put in another room that was sub par to the first room. The shower didn’t work properly and only had a trickle of water coming out. Couldn’t wash the soap or shampoo off.

Whirlpool tub was useless, no water pressure, just a trickle of water, ran out of hot water before water level was up to jets. Neighbors in other rooms either drunk or drugged up, up all night screaming about fighting the Illuminati. I asked for refund agreed to $299 waiting for refund. Not a Master Host Resort. Possible section 8 housing??

The motel was very clean, and the staff was very nice, but the motel is old, and a bit run down. The entrance, bathroom and patio doors in my room were all sticking and hard to open. The internet service was unusable. Had to run the hot water for 10 minutes before it got warm.

The only downside was that the whirlpool tub took a solid hour to fill up enough to turn on the jets. Everything else was fantastic!

The room was spacious and had a deck (a plus!). Decor was dated but made it feel cozy. Internet worked on my cell phone but would not stay connected more than 3 minutes on my laptop. This was inconvenient as I needed to get work done. The hard beds made for a poor night's sleep. If you like hard beds and don't need a strong internet, than it may work for you. Its in a nice wooded setting and also on 105, which means the sound of traffic is present all day. Around 11 pm though, it becomes quiet until morning. Staff were underwhelming.

Place was wonderful you can tell storm helene from 2024 is still affecting the area The room I stayed in needs a full upgrade but overall it was a good stay no complaints other than the bugs . Front desk was wonderful helped me jump my car battery and very friendly I’ll be back to Boone because of the staff and will try a solo cabin next time

When we arrived, the room we were initially given had a few things that still needed to be cleaned so we called the front desk to make them aware and see if we could just get someone to clean it. The front desk promptly called back and offered us an upgrade instead. Not only did they come and look at it themselves, but they showed us to the cabin we'd be in and were extremely kind and went above and beyond to make sure we had a stellar experience! We will definitely be back!

When we arrived, the room we were initially given had a few things that still needed to be cleaned so we called the front desk to make them aware and see if we could just get someone to clean it. This place was straight out of the 1970's, you even fill out a Guest Registration CARD, yes, that's right, an actual card that you write on with a pen. I haven't done that in tbe US for over 30 years. :) This place is super retro, a blast from the past, the staff was super friendly and the bed was comfy, the place could have been cleaner but it was okay. If you want to experience an old school motel, this is the place. :)

I haven't done that in tbe US for over 30 years. :) This place is super retro, a blast from the past, the staff was super friendly and the bed was comfy, the place could have been cleaner but it was okay. If you want to experience an old school motel, this is the place. :)

It was an average stay. Check in was easy but there was a little uncomfortable moment between the women checking me in and a gentleman offering directions. Pictures on the website made it appear to be better kept in regards to the play area and pool. It was a convient place to stay on the way to tweetsie railroad with decent prices. Overall i have no major complaints.

The room was spacious and had a deck (a plus!). Decor was dated but made it feel cozy. Internet worked on my cell phone but would not stay connected more than 3 minutes on my laptop. This was inconvenient as I needed to get work done. The hard beds made for a poor night's sleep. If you like hard beds and don't need a strong internet, than it may work for you. Its in a nice wooded setting and also on 105, which means the sound of traffic is present all day. Around 11 pm though, it becomes quiet until morning. Staff were underwhelming.

It was a great place overall. It was spacious and had a balcony with a nice view. The location was great for where I was going. The only thing I would say is that it was a little overpriced and should have been no more than $100.

Nice property in nice area. Property was clean and close to everything. Only thing I didn't like was guest close by was very noisy late at night.

This was a unique experience with pros and cons. Only stayed one night with family as we were just visiting for the one day. The location was convenient enough to access Boone and other area communities. The attempt to update an older motel was clever and attractive. The cabins behind us looked beautiful. Our rooms seemed in mid update. The front office was located in a older looking traditional motel. If it was not raining/and foggy there was probably a nice view of the tree lined mountaintops around the facility. There were amenities outside(grills, picnic tables) if the weather was nicer or staying longer. The staff were friendly in the office. Pros - the log cabin look, fireplace, private balcony, spacious room, Cons - the carpet and bathroom needed updating (tears and burn marks, cracked tile), broken blinds, no lock on balcony door, very minimal amenities in room (no shampoo/conditioner, no firewood). Might stay again but would like to see the items above updated.

Was here for a couple of days. No frills type hotel and is reflected on the price. Thankful they didnt price gouge for ASU graduation.
