The rooms need updating, we booked a Superior room which gave us a view of the sea which was lovely but no seating area inside, but basic patio outside. We were here for the Calella Ironman so the room was over 120 euros per night, we also stayed in a red weather alert which meant the patio rattled so very little sleep but the second night we slept fine. The breakfast selection was lovely but the eggs were tepid as was the coffee machine which was a shame as everything was beautifully presented. The staff were REALLY helpful and nice, it’s also a training hotel so it’s lovely to feel you’re helping someone starting on their career.

Bra budget hotell som inte är uppdaterat på länge. Men med havsutsikt & pool & nära till Lilla centrum med restauranger och små butiker. Lätt att parkera.

We had such a lovely stay at Gran Sol in Sant Pol de Mar. What makes this hotel particularly special is that it is also a hotel and restaurant school, with students working alongside the regular staff as part of their training. We really enjoyed being part of their learning experience, it added something genuinely unique and charming to our stay. The hotel itself is older and not particularly modern, but everything was exceptionally clean, including our room. The soundproofing between rooms isn’t the best, so you can hear your neighbours at times, but the hotel was lovely and quiet in the evenings and we slept very well. Both the permanent staff and the students were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. And the view, absolutely fantastic! Waking up to that beautiful Mediterranean sea view from our room was definitely one of the highlights. A very enjoyable stay with a lovely atmosphere, made even more memorable by all the students working hard to learn their profession. We would happily stay here again.
