Adobe Inn

The hotel is situated in the heart of downtown Carmel. Easy to walk to everything. BUT, this hotel is old and worn. The pool is very small and no common area or lobby. The beds were comfy. Bathrooms old and shower small. The parking garage is under the hotel and well lit with elevator.

The front desk was so helpful with giving us pointers of places to go. A map that had every thing around town which made finding places super easy. Parking garage was spacious and felt safe. Room was cozy, clean, and actually pretty big which was a plus and a great patio.

This hotel offers pet friendly very large rooms with a small fridge and sink counter. We had a gas fireplace in our room as well but didn’t use it. It was ideal for our 3 night stay with our dog! Its location is prime, it offers parking, the front desk was helpful and friendly. Yes, it’s dated and could use a refresh but it’s also a great value compared to the other spots we researched. We will stay again, perfect for us and our dog!

Nice small property at great location. Walking distance to shopping, dining and beach. Our suite has heating and a gas fired fireplace. The inn has a heated plunge pool. Drawback: no laundry facilities on site.

We've been to the Adobe Inn many times, as it is dog friendly. Great location. You can park in their lot (which is priceless) & walk everywhere (which is priceless). You can hear the ocean from your room, which we love. We will keep going back

This is my second visit to Adobe Inn. Personnel is very kind and professional. The manager gave me the same room that I had during my prior visit - a spacious very clean room on the second floor with a fire place and a view to a beautiful street in Carmel. Check in and check out were very smooth. This is a boutique hotel in the heart of Carmel. The free parking is covered (underground) and that is a rare and much welcome feature in Carmel. I will definitely be back!

Close to downtown, this little gem is quiet, clean and nicely appointed. We had a great view from our 2nd floor room. The pool was clean and very warm. A wonderful visit for our anniversary!

Property is aged but very close and convenient to restaurants and shops. Very clean property.

The pool was never cleaned. And we asked if someone would be cleaning the pool. And we were told that it wasn't going to be done. We try to stay at different hotels every year. Are travel is from San Francisco to Monterey and Carmel to Las Vegas every year. It didn't work out at this hotel.

The hotel was good, carpets are not very clean and everything was pretty old so it couldn’t be in better shape, slide door was very hard to move and entrance door was old which has lots of space in between, sheets was clean , so in total was not bad , the hotel location was great and was the best part of the trip to the beautiful Carmel but the price for around 500 each night noway worth. Although all hotels over there are in same range, you pay for location actually,

This property has a prime location, making it easy to explore the area on foot, and the onsite parking is a definite plus. We appreciated the friendly and helpful desk managers. However, there are some downsides. The property itself seems a bit rundown, and we had concerns about cleanliness standards. Improving maintenance and attention to cleaning could elevate the overall experience for guests.

Rooms on a ground floor looks much older and smaller, dirty carpet and stains, poor heater and only 1 shower set for 2 adults and one child… The room I had before on a second floor was much nicer even tho it was cheaper lol… Great location, very helpful and nice employees. But the hotel needs a cosmetic repairs asap, and, please, clean the carpet better!!! Stains are everywhere it was sort of disgusting…

This has potential to be the best but honestly it’s run down. The bathroom smelled like mildew and the shower head was full of black mold. The last day we were there it rained and the bathroom stunk so bad of sewer we packed up early and left. The location couldn’t be more perfect though. The room was very spacious and had a nice view. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was in such poor condition it made me not want to stay there again.

Rooms are very spacious and clean. The property does need a little TLC (paint, caulk) and are dated but very comfortable.

We had a 3 night stay here. Check in was fast and easy. The room was spacious and clean although dated. I loved the fireplace and the balcony with the partial ocean view!

Upon arriving, the desk clerk was asleep in the connecting room and could not be woken up. The owner had to be called. The room itself was surface clean but smelled of mold. In the morning we saw that the patio was carpeted and soaking wet. Green moss grew over about 50 percent of it. We left without checking out and found another hotel. Both we and our dogs became ill. Based on the other reviews of this place, maybe this is the only room like this. I can't remember the room number but it may as well have been 237.

Property is outdated. Sliding door is so weathered you can barely see through it. Screens on the door were torn. There was very little water pressure in the shower. The television had limited channels available and none were local. The room was clean but in desperate need of updates.

Great sea view from balcony. Staff very welcoming. Room felt a little musty. Could do with looking at refitting the 'kitchen' area.

We had a wonderful weekend at Adobe Inn- The room was clean, quiet and spacious. We were very comfortable and Sergio at the front desk was very accomdating and kind!

One of the beds had a broken leg and it sagged. The other bed was very old and very uncomfortable

No airflow in room, weird room location with no ability to open windows and no air conditioning. There was a little fan we were able to use but, not great. No hot water for shower or bath in the evenings. Bed is like sleeping on concrete

I really appreciate how caring and welcoming the front desk people are but the shower pressure is not the greatest and the shower head kept leaking water out, causing puddles outside the shower tub. We also kept hearing random tapping nose during the night. We also couldn’t change the temperature of the room so that wasn’t great. But besides that, they are not bad.

Good location, short walk to the centre of town. However property is somewhat dated and good to with a refurbishment. Rooms where clean and tidy, however WIFI was extremely poor

Our room turned out to be a suite with two bathrooms a living room, 2 balconies and a fireplace. Amazing location. Will definitely book again.

While the Adobe Inn isn’t a five-star luxury hotel, we also didn’t pay $1,000 a night for it — and that’s exactly why it’s such a fantastic find. It offers incredible value, comfort, and plenty of space in a prime location. It’s clean, quiet, and full of that special Carmel charm. We’re already planning our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a spacious, comfortable stay right in the heart of beautiful Carmel!

This property is definitely older and looks it but it was very clean, the outside grounds filled with flowers, the staff extremely helpful and nice. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our private balcony. I would love to stay here again!

fantastic location but room is dated with worn out furniture, fixtures, and carpet. There was a little balcony on my room that was pleasant; it had tall dividers so you won't see your neighbors. free covered parking was a big bonus. The room was on the larger side; having enough room to fit 2 people comfortably.

It was supposed to rain the whole 3 days we were in Carmel, so we got a room with a fireplace. The room was spacious with high ceilings, very clean, and toasty warm. Besides the fireplace, there was a surprisingly quiet heater. ( It only rained at night while we were sleeping!)The location was great, right in town. The room was very quiet and good blackout curtains.

It was nice. Good location. When I checked in I was offered a bigger room for $50 more. I said sure He failed to mention it was $50 a night more!!! This was very misleading

Great location in the heart of Downtown. Friendly family-owned business.

So we showed up at 9:25pm and although the office is supposed to be open till 10pm, the receptionist had already left for the night. There was a guest already there that had been waiting about ten minutes, making calls to the manager to get them to come out. I waited with them another 15 minutes before the receptionist turned back up, handed me an envelope and said my key was under the mat at my room. No text, call or email to give me those instructions ahead of time. It just came across as incredibly incompetent. That experience aside, I would say the only thing going for this place is the location. Right in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Just a few blocks from the ocean and surrounded by art and food. The room, however, is in major need of new mattresses. Those were the hardest beds I have ever slept on and I can’t even say they are better than the floor. I put the pillows on the bed under me so that I could sleep and still woke up feeling like my ribs were bruised. It was awful! If my stay had been any longer, I would have switched hotels. Minor issues were the lack of water pressure in the shower, the old, scratchy toilet seat, the shower fan that flickers on and off, the lack of A/C in the room, and the lack of screens on the windows to keep out bugs when you’re just trying to get some fresh air. Would I recommend this place? NO!!! There are nicer, less expensive places in Pacific Grove and Seaside. Location doesn’t excuse quality… or the need for restful sleep.

Staff was extremely kind, especially at the reception desk. Great location with easy parking. Highly recommend it!

Location great, roomy accommodations, tv remote needs new batteries, very clean, loved in room robes, recommend updating tile bthrm floor, add cieling fan, update luggage cart, increase tv size and add smart tv...offer goodie bags for guests at check in since continental breakfasts are a "no go" anymore.

Spacious room, good bed. Made dinner reservations for us and on whole a convenient and reasonably priced lodging option for Carmel.

Staff members and dinner were exceptional!
