Terms and Conditions: Glebe Terraces 256 Glebe Point Rd, Glebe NSW 2037 These Terms and Conditions govern all reservations, stays, and use of facilities at Glebe Terraces ('Hostel', 'we', 'our', 'us') located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. By making a booking or staying at the Hostel, you agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms are subject to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) including the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and other applicable NSW legislation. 1. Prices and Taxes 1.1 All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD). 1.2 Prices include Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless otherwise stated. 1.3 We reserve the right to change prices prior to confirmation of a booking. 1.4 Any government-imposed charges, tourism levies, or additional fees introduced after booking may be payable by the guest if required by law.Promotional rates are subject to specific conditions and availability. 2. Payment and Terms at Check-in / Check-out 2.1 Payment Payment may be required at the time of booking or upon arrival, depending on the selected rate.We accept credit and debit cards (excluding American Express and Diners Cards).Credit card surcharges may apply in accordance with Australian law. 2.2 Security Deposit A refundable security deposit may be required at check-in. The deposit may be used to cover damage, unpaid charges, excessive cleaning, or breach of house rules. 2.3 Identification All guests must present valid government-issued photo identification at check-in. International guests must present a valid passport. Do not share your confirmation code/check-in details with people who are not declared in your booking. 2.4 Check-in / Check-out Check-in: From 3PM. Check-out: By 10AM. Late check-out without approval may incur additional charges. 2.5 No-Show and Cancellation Cancellation terms will apply as stated at the time of booking. Failure to arrive without notice may result in the first night being charged or full booking forfeited, depending on rate conditions. Nothing in this clause excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. 3. Travelling with Minors 3.1 Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian unless prior written approval is given. 3.2 Minors are not permitted in shared dormitories unless the entire dormitory is privately booked. 3.3 The supervising adult is fully responsible for the safety, supervision, and conduct of minors. 3.4 The Hostel reserves the right to refuse accommodation to unaccompanied minors. 4. Accessibility or Special Needs 4.1 Guests requiring accessible accommodation or assistance must notify us at the time of booking. 4.2 While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate special needs, availability cannot be guaranteed unless confirmed in writing. 4.3 Guests must inform us of any medical or mobility requirements that may affect their stay. We comply with applicable Australian anti-discrimination laws. 5. Parking 5.1 Vehicles (including bicycles, e-bikes, motorbikes etc) and their contents are parked at the owner’s risk. 5.2 To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss, theft, or damage to vehicles. 6. Hostel Events 6.1 The Hostel may organise social events, tours, or activities. Participation is voluntary. 6.2 Guests participate at their own risk. 6.3 We reserve the right to cancel or modify events at any time. 6.4 Guests must follow all staff directions during events. 6.5 Alcohol consumption must comply with NSW liquor licensing laws. 7. Dispute Resolution / Issues 7.1 Guests must notify management promptly of any concerns during their stay so we may attempt to resolve the issue. 7.2 These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. 7.3 The parties agree to attempt good faith negotiation before commencing legal proceedings. 7.4 If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may refer the matter to mediation in NSW before court proceedings, where appropriate. 7.5 Nothing in this clause limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. 8. Use of Personal Information 8.1 We collect personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). 8.2 Personal information may be used for: Processing bookings, Identity verification, Payment processing, Compliance with legal obligations, Safety and security purposes, Marketing (where consent is given). 8.3 We do not sell personal information to third parties. 8.4 Guests may request access to or correction of their personal information in accordance with applicable law. 9. Liability 9.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred by the Australian Consumer Law. 9.2 To the extent permitted by law: We are not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings unless caused by our negligence. Guests are responsible for securing their valuables. Guests are liable for damage caused to Hostel property due to negligence or misconduct. 9.3 We reserve the right to remove any guest without refund for: Violent or abusive behaviour, Illegal activity, Breach of house rules, Conduct that endangers staff or other guests 9.4 The Hostel may limit liability for recreational services in accordance with section 139A of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), where applicable. 10. Force Majeure 10.1 We are not liable for failure to perform obligations where such failure is due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: Natural disasters, Bushfires, Floods, Pandemics, Government restrictions, Power outages, Industrial disputes. 10.2 In such circumstances, we may cancel, modify, or reschedule bookings as required. 11. Third Party Rights 11.1 These Terms create rights and obligations solely between the Hostel and the guest. 11.2 No third party has the right to enforce any provision of these Terms. 12. Waiver 12.1 Failure by the Hostel to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. 12.2 Any waiver must be in writing and signed by authorised management. 13. Severance 13.1 If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable under NSW law, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. 13.2 The invalid provision shall be interpreted to the extent possible to reflect its original intent.
