The hotel was right on the sea front. We took our dog and was made to feel very welcome. Certain areas were restricted but there was ample room to dine in comfort with the dog.

Great hotel, ideal location for our plans. Shame about the parking if you cant get in the hotel spaces and its height of holiday season… we had to park a ten minute walk away as there was a function on at the hotel too. Parking restrictions on one side of the hotel with a very active warden dishing out penalty charges!!!!!

We had a lovely stay, exceeded our expectations on almost every count. The hotel is brilliantly dog-friendly. The breakfast offering was particularly good - a different menu, with flexibility within the options, and the buffet was lovely as well. The location is fantastic for walking and beaches, which is all we wanted for this trip, so we are very happy guests and would certainly return for another visit.

Hotel lovely location overlooking the sea. Nice quiet location with bar and restaurant. Fish and chips was massive however wasn’t great thought it would be amazing as seaside location but no flavour however the Caesar salad looked amazing. Beds super comfy and everything you need in the room. Great stay overall.

The hotel has a great position and large car car park. Check in was easy and receptionist was friendly. However decor ahowing aigns of wear and tear. Bathroom requires re decoration and grout around tiles in window light need attention. Due to building being mainly wooden, neighbours can be heard. Alao note.tbis hotel.is dog friendly and animals are allowed in restaurant. Breakfast is cooked to order and was tasty but service was very slow considering only 3 others.tables seated on our arrival

Although we only had a short stay here, it was lovely. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the place itself is clean and tidy, our room was lovely and the location is fantastic. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

The hotel is in a lovely position by the sea. It is very quiet and the twin room was big. The beds are very very comfortable and we both had a good night's sleep. There was a wide range of hot food to order for breakfast as well as cereal, toast and fruit. We'd definitely stay here again.

Lovely staff very helpful and super friendly. Lovely room the bed was the best I've ever slept in away from home. Breakfast was good had a good selection on the menu. Couldn't fault our stay atall. Very close to the beach just a stroll across the road.

Clean comfortable room but a very heavy quilt! No air conditioning but a noisy portable fan was supplied. Nice choice of biscuits and hot drinks were supplied along with a small flask of fresh milk at check in. Wonderful surroundings with beautiful beaches within a few minutes walk.

Staff were very friendly and it’s in a beautiful setting. The only issue was the noise that could be heard through the walls and above from other rooms. Appreciate not too much you can do in an older hotel, as that was the way the hotel was built. But be prepared that you can hear people, so it doesn’t give a restful night. Saying that though, we had a lovely stay. Nice good in the restaurant and the breakfast was of a very high standard.

The location was good and the room was very comfortable. which was reflected in the price of the accommodation chosen, i.e. it was not cheap. I found the Reception staff and the Breakfast staff to be professional and pleasant. However, this was not my experience whilst dining there on a Sunday evening. I was surprised, as a paying guest, to have received from three different dining area staff the very same reply to my request for a glass of water, to accompany my evening meal - "Yes, of course" and to then not receive the requested water. Not only did I NOT receive the requested glass of water but I was then subsequently ignored. Being a Sunday evening, the dining area was busy with \'walk-in\' diners. However, I believe the hotel could make some effort to better serve its paying guests, be they resident or \'walk-in\' rather than simply lie to them in an effort to brush off requests. Although the room was lovely, and the location very nice indeed, I certainly wouldn\'t make the mistake of putting myself at the mercy of the dining area staff again.

The Botany Bay is welcoming and warm. I first discovered it on a walk between Margate and Broadstairs. My stay this week was the third one and I know I will be back. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff members are kind and attentive, the food is good. The pub seems to be a regular stop for walkers and local customers adding to the warmth of the place.

Well located hotel with excellent view. generally speaking friendly, clean, comfortable hotel, I like very much.however, I witnessed frictions between guests and member of stuff and I felt waiter/ waitress need further training to learn how to handle difficult problems with customers. I wish they had much thinner duvet for hot summer and do not allow dogs for the braekfast room.

The hotel was lovely and the location was overlooking the sea which was very nice. We booked for an evening meal which was absolutely appalling., We booked for seven o'clock but had to wait outside the dining room to be seated for about twenty minutes.The waiter had to come and clean the table then we waited over an hour to get the drinks we ordered. Then our meal came which was nothing special for the price.Everyone was complaining about the wait. I wouldnt stay here again which is a shame because the place was lovely. It just was the service we received it was a shambles.We were told guests were a priority but we would have been better doing self service.

We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend the hotel. The staff were attentive and friendly. Reception lady Laura was lovely and the perfect welcome. The breakfast has great options and good quality. The restaurant and bar again have great options. Lovely views. Nice coastal walks in your doorstep and nearby hot spots. We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend the hotel. The staff were attentive and friendly. Reception lady Laura was lovely and the perfect welcome. The breakfast has great options and good quality. The restaurant and bar again have great options. Lovely views. Nice coastal walks in your doorstep and nearby hot spots. The room was decent, clean, and tidy. We will be sure to come back again in the future.

The hotel is in a lovely position by the sea. It is very quiet and the twin room was big. The beds are very very comfortable and we both had a good night's sleep. There was a wide range of hot food to order for breakfast as well as cereal, toast and fruit. We'd definitely stay here again.

Room was comfortable and sufficient for what we needed but i felt we were paying for the location of the hotel rather than the quality of it and we were looking out on to a courtyard where the noise started about 0615 on the Saturday morning. Restaurant staff were excellent

A lovely hotel with beautiful surroundings. Nothing was too much trouble to ask the staff. Had a sea view room with a balcony with outside seating. Plenty of parking spaces. Food in the restaurant and bar was amazing. A great 2 night break.

Great hotel, ideal location for our plans. Shame about the parking if you cant get in the hotel spaces and its height of holiday season… we had to park a ten minute walk away as there was a function on at the hotel too. Parking restrictions on one side of the hotel with a very active warden dishing out penalty charges!!!!!

Great location but horel a little tired and in need of a refurbishment. Surprised this wasn't done over the winter as they are now in full season. Resturant food a little bland but acceptable, good breakfast selection and service. Great beach for families but everything else is a car ride away. Just about value for money but not cheap.

The Hotel was lovely. Perfect location Staff were very helpful and friendly. The restaurant and bar drink prices were a little expensive . Breakfast time finished a bit to early for us, would have been nice to have been an hour later.

We had a lovely stay overnight celebrating a friend’s birthday. The room was spacious and clean with a well appointed bathroom- a sea view would have been wonderful but you can’t have everything. We chose to dine in the hotel rather than drive elsewhere and were delighted we did. My whole Bream with lemongrass marinade was perfectly cooked and delicious. The hotel was lovely and the location was overlooking the sea which was very nice. We booked for an evening meal which was absolutely appalling., We booked for seven o'clock but had to wait outside the dining room to be seated for about twenty minutes.The waiter had to come and clean the table then we waited over an hour to get the drinks we ordered. Then our meal came which was nothing special for the price.Everyone was complaining about the wait. I wouldnt stay here again which is a shame because the place was lovely. It just was the service we received it was a shambles.We were told guests were a priority but we would have been better doing self service.

Hotel lovely location overlooking the sea. Nice quiet location with bar and restaurant. Fish and chips was massive however wasn’t great thought it would be amazing as seaside location but no flavour however the Caesar salad looked amazing. Really friendly staff and easy check in. Rooms great, a bit of damage here and there to furniture and fittings. Food was good, heard a few people complaining about length of wait, but I didn't have a problem. Would happily stay again.

What a wonderful stay! The rooms were beautifully presented, spacious, and exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast offered a fantastic selection of fresh, high-quality food and was the perfect start to the day. The hotel’s unique location, right next to the beach, made it easy to enjoy stunning coastal walks and sea views. A fantastic place to relax—I would happily stay here again.

Very pleasant stay. Room clean and comfortable. Despite no air conditioning fans provided were adequate. Location just above the beach. Breakfast good. Bar welcoming. Food was fine but menu not changed during our 5 night stay. Staff all very helpful. Would recommend Botany Bay as a good base to explore Thanet and Canterbury.

We had a lovely stay overall. The hotel is in a great, lively location and one of the biggest advantages is the free parking, which is very difficult to find in this area. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel and room were clean, and the breakfast was lovely. It was also convenient having a decent restaurant on site. Unfortunately, the biggest downside was the lack of air conditioning in the room, especially during the extremely hot weather. A Dyson fan was provided, which was appreciated, but during very high temperatures it only circulated warm air and did not make the room comfortable. Our particular room was also located right next to the kitchen extraction vent, meaning that opening the window resulted in hot air and food smells coming directly into the room. We asked whether it would be possible to move rooms and although the staff were polite, we were told there were no alternatives available. I understand that not all rooms may have this issue, but I do feel this particular room should perhaps not be allocated during very hot weather conditions, as there is very little way to cool it down. Overall, it is a nice hotel with friendly staff, good facilities, cleanliness, lovely breakfast and excellent parking — but our room location and the heat made the stay less comfortable than it could have been.
