Room overlooked the Main Street. There was live entertainment which went on until11pm and could be heard in our room. Then at 11.45pm the front door shutter was heard being pulled down and raised in the morning before we were even out of bed. Finally we were told that breakfast was at 10am having been told by the staff member who booked us in that it was at 9am

We stayed there for just one night. The room was unexpectedly very spacious and nice. The beds were clean and large. Music from the pub was at acceptable level, not that noisy as mentioned on the reviews. But noise or sound from the next room could be easily heard at midnight and in the early morning. It’s really a matter of give and take.

Had a lovely one night stay as a family of 4 at The Commercial Hotel. The room was lovely and very clean with comfy beds and a bath and shower. We also had our evening meal in the hotels restaurant which was also which was very tasty and reasonably priced. I would highly recommended and would definitely stay here again.

Staff were very kind and helpful. The bar downstairs was a lovely bonus. The only downside was that the hotels.com app had shown breakfast available from 8am, this had not been updated, the new breakfast time was 10am which didnt work for us.

The room I was given was on the third floor. No elevator, 42 steps up. On the first day, I informed the restaurant staff that I required gluten free, which they replied was “no problem”. There were only three items on the menu which could be made gluten free, one of which was breakfast and I was served sausage the first week that contained gluten. I came home sick.

Wir hatten das Zimmer im Dachfirst, daher viele schräge Decken. Zum Frühstück gab es full scottish, eine neue Erfahrung für uns. Im großen und ganzen war es sehr schön. Das pubquiz hat uns großen Spaß gemacht. Parken kein Problem.

Staff friendly, explained everything got you, rooms beautiful and smelt clean, had a selection of drinks and some biscuits, bed and pillows comfortable. Only issue was that the shower was very slippery and the floor when exiting the shower. Could do with a non slip mat. Would highly recommend it

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel and rooms are nicely decorated and furnished. The only niggle we had was the creaky, and slightly uneven floor, in our room. But it added a quirky vibe to the experience.

The family room we had was comfortable, spacious, clean, tidy, and looked lovely. The only issue was that there was mo sound insulation between our room and the room next door, something which wasn’t apparent until the occupants of that room arrived well into the evening after we were already in bed. They may as well have been in the room with us. At the great price that wasn’t too much of an issue. What was an issue was the service in the hotel pub/restaurant. I was completely ignored for long periods whilst yoare waiting for service at the bar

Room overlooked the Main Street. There was live entertainment which went on until11pm and could be heard in our room. Then at 11.45pm the front door shutter was heard being pulled down and raised in the morning before we were even out of bed. Finally we were told that breakfast was at 10am having been told by the staff member who booked us in that it was at 9am

Had a lovely one night stay as a family of 4 at The Commercial Hotel. The room was lovely and very clean with comfy beds and a bath and shower. We also had our evening meal in the hotels restaurant which was also which was very tasty and reasonably priced. I would highly recommended and would definitely stay here again.

The family room we had was comfortable, spacious, clean, tidy, and looked lovely. The only issue was that there was mo sound insulation between our room and the room next door, something which wasn’t apparent until the occupants of that room arrived well into the evening after we were already in bed. They may as well have been in the room with us. At the great price that wasn’t too much of an issue. What was an issue was the service in the hotel pub/restaurant. I was completely ignored for long periods whilst yoare waiting for service at the bar

One stays here is required to compromise on quite a few things. The street noise finds its way to most rooms, the walls are paper thin, the rooms are minimalist, the continental breakfast is poor, minimalist. The price to comfort ratio is very weak.

Staff were very kind and helpful. The bar downstairs was a lovely bonus. The only downside was that the hotels.com app had shown breakfast available from 8am, this had not been updated, the new breakfast time was 10am which didnt work for us.

The room I was given was on the third floor. No elevator, 42 steps up. On the first day, I informed the restaurant staff that I required gluten free, which they replied was “no problem”. There were only three items on the menu which could be made gluten free, one of which was breakfast and I was served sausage the first week that contained gluten. I came home sick.

Wir hatten das Zimmer im Dachfirst, daher viele schräge Decken. Zum Frühstück gab es full scottish, eine neue Erfahrung für uns. Im großen und ganzen war es sehr schön. Das pubquiz hat uns großen Spaß gemacht. Parken kein Problem.

We stayed in room 9. The room smelt weird due to the extractor fan not working in the bathroom. Only way to air the room was to open the window and then deal with traffic noise /smells from chippy opposite. TV not working as antenna lead broken - told reception who replied that most tv's don't work. Room was dirty with clumps of hair in bathroom but bedding and towels were clean. Car park to rear but just as easy to park on roadside OK for 2 night stay but would not return.

Great base after going to a gig at Hampden Park. We had a triple room for us and our teenage son. Everything was clean, the room was big enough and staff were around for a late check-in. (Ignore the info on this property that says you can’t check in past 11pm. I called and they said they have a night manager.) The shower leaked on to the bathroom floor, which could be easily fixed and the double glazing was very old and didn’t provide any sound insulation from the busy road at the front m - hence slightly lower upkeep mark. We’d use it again for one night after an event, without a doubt.
