Springhill Suites by Marriott Savannah Downtown Historic District

Loved the area. It was easy to walk around downtown and to the river. The room was nice and clean. The pool needed to be cleaned and the hot tub didn't work. Good variety at the breakfast buffet. Overall it was a great stay.

Building is not in good condition. Of the two elevators one was broken and the other needed duct tape to hold the button panel in place. Apparently a pool pipe had burst which led to a floor on the main and second floor. This led to a very musty smell on those floors, pool was accessed by the second floor.

The hotel was excellent. Very clean comfortable. Enjoyed the living area to watch TV one night when not feeling great. The breakfast buffet was great, as well as the staff. Interesting that they split the shower and the toilet into two separate areas so they could be used by two people at once. The jacuzzi was not working during the entire stay though. Good location. We were able to walk to most of the museums and waterfront, etc.

Great location. The noise level was bad in hallways and from street. The staff were nice. It is under construction and I was not aware of it.

The staff was all super sweet right from the start with valet and check in! The King suite was really nice. The only downside to this trip was that while we were here, the pool was out of order, which was the whole reason we had booked this hotel over other options (In order to have that option to lay at the pool or go to hot tub at night)

Rooms were pretty good, breakfast was well stocked and plenty of space to eat. Pool was closed down by the health department our entire trip, which was a huge disappointment! After walking around Savannah all day we were really looking forward to a swim. We would stay here again, only a 12 minute walk to River Street. Parking is $40 per day valet only, but they were excellent and fast.

Great location, walking distance to historic downtown Savannah dining, shopping, nightlife, etc. The staff is pleasant and professional. Breakfast was nice, simple and fulfilling. The valet service team is quick and professional. The pool and hot tub are great to have available during your stay and the exercise room is well equipped. The hotel is a great place to stay that has it all.

Great location, very helpful front desk folks. The adjacent bar is exceptional. Unlike some other Savannah hotels, not outdated and not loud either.

We loved the location, the room and the service. I loved that the toilet and sink were in a different room than the shower. It was clean and comfortable. Only downside was only one elevator was working and it was horribly slow. The waiting area for the elevator was hot. We waited about 30 minutes for an elevator to go checkout. If they fix the elevators I would stay here again.

Great location. Very convenient and walkable to everything downtown Savannah. Near Airport and Tybee Island. Big spacious clean rooms. Pool & heated jetted tub nice. Breakfast good.

The hotel room was a good size, but it definitely needed to be cleaned better. A lot of things didn’t work properly — even the door to get into the room and the light switch gave me trouble. The shower didn’t seem very clean, and housekeeping didn’t clean the room every day, even when I just asked to exchange towels. On the bright side, they did compensate us by giving us free parking, which was really nice. Overall, the stay was fine, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Property was very nice. Location was perfect. Staff was friendly and professional. Bed was very comfortable. I just had one issue - as I was preparing to leave I was turning the AC temperature up and caught a glimpse of mold in the AC vent. Two pretty large spots of mold directly in the vent. So gross.

The room was quite dirty. The shower door was disconnecting from the joints a bit of mold. First floor for breakfast floor was always sticky.

The bathroom and the carpet were very dirty. Breakfast nice. Pool dirty, overall the hotel was old and smelly

Hotel staff was top notch. But cleanliness of the room was not. Mildew stains in the shower and watermarks on the glass indicated the shower was not cleaned often. Other than that everything was great.

The first room they gave us, the sleeper sofa was disgustingly dirty. We told them. They gave us a new room. New room was fine. But housekeeping only came once in the 6 nights we stayed. I had to call for toilet paper. I had to call anytime we needed clean towels. After calling we waited 2 hours. Nothing. Called again. We were told to come down to the front desk for them. Did that. At 10:30pm knocking at our door, waking kids up, finally housekeeping at the door with towels we asked for hours earlier and had to go get ourselves. Trash was overflowing. When i asked the desk to have the manager call us to discuss this; no one ever called. So the cleanliness was well below where it should be. Very disappointed. Wouldn't stay there ever again or recommend.

The hotel location in a very convenient to downtown, the rooms lacked the appropriate amount of towels for its occupancy size, the elevator floor was dirty and poorly updated. The lobby tables had chips in them making them look out of place and brought down the elegance or its surroundings. The room had plaster missing at the base of the doorway exposing rusted molding. The biggest issue I had was the couch in the room looked as though someone threw up on it and it was stained from end to end, probably other biologicals as well.

We are Marriott owners and have stayed at many different properties over the years. This was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. The staff was rude and every request was treated like a terrible inconvenience. The room itself was disgusting, the blankets and sheets were gross, had blood and stains, and the shower didn’t even appear to have been cleaned. We would have pushed the issue, but every question we had for the staff was dismissed or scoffed at. The only areas that were positive were the staff at breakfast, who were all helpful and pleasant, and the concierge. We’ll be reaching out directly to Marriott about our experience, but we won’t be staying here ever again.

Right outside the front door is a homeless camp. The air conditioner fan in the room sounded like a warehouse fan so so loud. Duvet was a full size on a king size bed. The air vent was encrusted with dirt. The hair conditioner bottle was empty and fell off the wall. There was no soap in the shower. We had to ask the front desk for coffee cups. The breakfast was standard free breakfast. The restaurant was limited. We ordered the toasted cheese sandwiches mine was to have apple slices but the slices were the end pieces. The chip were from the bottom of the bag crumbs. Do not recommend or will stay there again.

We’ve stayed here before in previous years, so when we needed a place to stay overnight on our way home from Raleigh to Orlando, this was a no brainer! As always, everything was very comfortable and the staff was really nice. The room seemed to have been cleaned, but not deep cleaned. The bathrooms seemed a bit on the neglected side, with clogged sinks and hair still hanging from the body wash container. The toilet made a very loud squeak after flushing that my 4 year old with sensory issues did not appreciate. But for one night, it was easy to ignore just this once. Overall, we and the kiddos slept great. It’s a great location. $40 valet parking is a bit much, but we understand the price of convenience.

The hotel is a good, reasonably priced choice with a good location for walking to tour offices and local attractions. We had a king room with a very comfortable bed. Problems unique to this room: it overlooked the pool and we could hear all the noise from the people there (it closes at 10 p.m.). We had a curtain valence fall down, and the coffee maker and adjoining light didn't work. No biggie for us, as it was no trouble to get coffee in the lobby. The toilet was in a different "half-bath" than the shower, but both were en suite. Breakfast was good and a concierge in the lobby sold attraction tickets. We'd stay here again.

This was not my favorite stay in Savannah. The room was right above the pool. Kids were screaming until 11PM. Our TV would turn on and work for 3-5 minutes then go black. There wasnt a night stand on my side of the bed. The other side had one, but no place to charge the phone. The vanity light didnt work so couldnt see to wash face or anything. Shower leaked all over the floor.

The location was perfect for the walking distances we were looking for! Hotel was very accommodating even though they were still under construction renovating the lobby and other floors. Our room had a few issues due to the construction; loose bolt on the locking mechanism on the door, bathroom sliding door was hard to move, and the TVs offered streaming but would not connect to the internet.

Springhill Suites is my preferred flag, always look for one in any destination I plan to visit. I have stayed on at least 5 different properties around the US. They're consistent in quality and service and the hotels are pristine, squeaky clean and staffed with very professional and friendly attendants. Beautiful, modern with quality furniture, comfortable bedding and the biggest bedrooms and bathrooms I've seen. Would recommend and would continue to select over other flags

Hotel was a bit run down but not awful. Pull out couch had paper thin mattress.

I liked the staff and the room was clean, but my family would never stay here again. The walls are all paper thin. When someone went to the bathroom, you could hear EVERYTHING. The kids in the pool kept my kids and husband awake until 2am. Also there were no locks on the bathrooms. One bathroom had shower and the other had the toilet, which was dumb. The beds were comfortable, so that was nice.

The front desk staff was super helpful at every turn. The Premium King room was large enough for our family of four (our kids shared the couch / trundle bed). The location is a short walk from The Children's Museum, The Grey Restaurant, SCAD Museum of Art and so many other great attractions. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel, enjoyed our stay. Only issue was that we requested a quiet room and they put us by the elevator. So during busy morning hours the elevator itself was a little louder than we would have liked. Next time we will be more specific in our request. We would stay here again though.

We are ones of the evacuees from Tampa due to Hurricane Milton, we drove from 3pm-arrived at 4:30AM NEXT DAY, it was a long and exhausting /stressful drive with kids and pets. Upon check in, a female manager attended to us(SHE REFUSED TO DISCLOSE HER NAME when I asked she said” YOU DONT NEED TO KNOW MY NAME!!!) she was RUDE and no personality at all. Before I booked, I askes if they would accommodate pets, KIETH ( day shift) was amazing and empathetic, HE ASKED his GM if they would and HE confirmed that they will and also with no charge at this time due to the circumstances. BUT UPON check in, THIS CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER WAS CHARGING ME EXTRA $150.00/dog at which it would be an unexpected budget for us. So I explained to her that per kieth, THERE’S no charge. SHE WAS ADAMANT AND TOLD ME in her own words with no apologies, “WELL IF YOU DON’T WANT TO PAY THEN YOU CAN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!” THIS IS AFTER THEY ALREADY CHARGED MY CARD FOR THE ENTIRE 3 NIGHTS @530.00 plus $150.00 DEPOSIT. Dog fees was about to be charged on my incidentals. SHE HAD NO EMPATHY THAT WE ARE GOING THROUGH TOUGH SITUATION, DROVE 13-14 hours on the road with no SLEEP AND WITH YOUNG KIDS AT THAT AND MY SICK BROTHER WHO’S ALSO UNDER dialysis treatment, SHE HAD THE audacity TO TELL US TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE INSTEAD?!!!! I had a panic attack after our conversation AND WAS IN TEARS!! The next day, KIETH WAS ON DUTY AND straightened the whole mess. So we are extremely pleased with him

Excellent hotel. Staff met all expectations, and were extremely helpful.

Our first day here, Jamie went above and beyond to make sure we got the best room with a walk in shower for our daughter with Down Syndrome! I can’t thank her enough for being so compassionate and caring to us. The breakfast has been amazing every morning, so yummy!

Our stay was amazing. The only problem I found was a soiled sheet left on the single under bed trundle mattress… something that could have easily been forgotten about. Other than that everything was wonderful, freshly prepared breakfast bar was delicious, concierge, valet, and front desk staff were all very welcoming! Location was perfect!

The person that checked me in was so sweet, she smiled and made me feel so welcome- not just when I checked in, but later when I went back to front desk with some questions.

Easy in and out parking. Front desk staff were great. Make sure you stop at the Concierge, she will get you started in the right direction for having fun. Hotel bests the Hiltons we have stayed in Charlotte and Charleston. Would recommend

Entire hotel very recently upgraded & looked great. Hotel staff was very pleasant. Continental breakfast (eggs, saussage, cereal, fruit, waffles) is good & included w/stay but ha same offerings daily...would be nice to have couple things that change if staying longer. Great location w/easy walkable access to alot of areas in the downtown & only ~10 min walk to SCAD The Hive for visiting college kid attending school. Would stay again & recommend hotel. Loved King bedroom layout as was perfect for needing to work during part of our trip.

The staff was very attentive and helpful. Property was clean. The breakfast was good although the area was very crowded and hectic.I would suggest they put out 2 waffle makers when they have large bookings there to help ease the wait times.It was within walking distance of everything we wanted to see.

Do not hesitate booking a room at this hotel. The location is perfect if you want to explore downtown Savannah. It's close enough to the water and a short 15 minute walk to Forsyth Park. The hotel staff were fabulous - really friendly every time you walked through the door. The room itself was really clean and had everything we needed. The entire hotel was absolutely spotless. We even took a dip in the hot tub. The pool area was clean and inviting. The continental breakfast was similar to other hotels. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again!
