Secret Gem Suites

This property was absolutely incredible and unique. The property manager, Nick, was excellent and always available - great communication, delivered an abundance of breakfast daily (included in the cost!), delivered laundry service, replenished anything we needed in the villa, coordinated taxis for us etc. He was excellent! The property itself was stunning and better in person than the photos (when does that ever happen?!) - the rooms were so unique, the balcony/terrance was so spacious and just spectacular to sit out there right on the water in a private space. Very quiet and peaceful in Ammoudi Bay, incredible restaurant options. Sunset Ammoudi was our favorite, we went multiple times. The town of Oia is right above the area -- you can either call a taxi (the property will assist), or walk up the cliff steps. The walk has stunning views, and highly recommended doing so at least once. The only thing to note: Taxis cannot get to Ammoudi Bay within the hours close to sunset. It is very difficult for them to get down to the Bay due to traffic of people coming to Oia for sunset. Dinner in Oia for sunset (must make reservations) is not to be missed. But you will need to be in Oia hours before if you plan on a taxi and can return to the bay after 9pm. Not a big deal, just something to note! Once you go to Oia and see the crowds, you will be so thankful you are staying in peaceful Ammoudi Bay! Cannot recommend this stay enough - book now!!

Secret Gem was fantastic. we loved being near the water and having some restaurants with beautiful views just below our suite. We had a lovely deck to sit out and watch the sunset cruise boats go by. My only recommendation would be to put out a few umbrellas for shade as it was blisteringly hot. The host was beyond helpful and so friendly. Breakfast was delivered in cute baskets each morning and was plenty for two and then some. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The propertyinside is very nice and clean. It is in a beautful cove at the bottom of the very steep hillside. The issue is it is very inconvient. The hill you have to walk down is crazy dangerouly steep. You have to walk around the donkey poop and there are about 15 donkeys to deal with. It smells in the morning. If you want a taxi it cost approx 20 Eur, if you can find the taxi willing to take you. This is only a fifteen minute walk but very steep. It is very inconvient. It would be nice if they offered transportaion.The hotel gives you a bottle of water that is filled with tap water. I would not ever book this hotel. Find one closer to the top where all the shopping and pictures are. Oh yeah the Jacuzzi is about 90 deg F. Too cold for me.

Very beautiful ocean view with private hot tube. Close to restaurants and attractions. Staff is vey nice and helpful. Love it.

This is a cute and comfortable boutique apart-hotel style property. There were great views of the water and the sunset from my room! There are several steps that you have to take to go down and then up to the property for drop off, so not advisable for those with challenges walking stairs of various heights. Most places in Santorini do only have stairs to access though. The tub in the bedroom was a jacuzzi bathtub that I just ended up not having time to use. One minor issue I had was the shower handle coming off and water coming out onto the floor when using the top water stream option. I was greeted at the taxi drop off and then the host, Nikolas, helped me with my luggage to the suite and then I just went through check in items with him there at the suite. There did not appear to be any lobby area. Nikolas was also very helpful in arranging for taxis, which needed to be called in advance since rides didn’t frequent that area. You can walk up to the main Oia city area, but donkeys/mules transport people on occasion, the stairs are inconsistent and can also be slippery - just taking a taxi is also an option. The rooftop was very nice. Tha safe is small and not standard size. For reference, it wouldn’t fit a shoe, but could fit a passport and oversized headphones.

What really made the stay was Nikos. He is such a nice guy. He was always available to be reached via text and was quick to respond and very informative and helpful. Breakfast was delivered every morning about 9 and it was surprisingly good. Parking here in my opinion is really not possible except early in the day or scooters. All of the boats pick up and drop off here so it’s completely jammed and impassible in the late afternoon until after sunset when everything clears out. There are steps to walk up to Oia. They say 278, however they are kind of numbered and it was about 230 according to these numbers. I’m not in great shape at all and I only had to stop twice. There are also donkey rides for 10 euros each. The other option is transfer coordinated through Nikos for about 20-25 euros to Oia. We usually went up in the mid morning, ate lunch and sometimes dinner in Oia and then came back down. Make sure your phone is charged for the light so as to be able navigate the steps and avoid the donkey poo after dark. We also had friends staying up in Oia. It was nice to be able to come down and get away from the village in the evenings and being so close to the water was nice. There are 3 or 4 restaurants to choose from and there is an ice cream shop as well that sells water, beer, wine and snacks.

There is no word to describe the dazzlement that is Ammoudi Bay for the eyes, at both sunset and sunrise. And there is no better place than the panoramic suite to enjoy it. From the private terrace or the rooftop jacuzzi, the view is incredible. The interior is very nicely arranged and contains all the comforts necessary for an excellent and long stay. The restaurants below are top-notch. Take the opportunity to stroll along the coast, after Dimitri’s tavern. Finally, it is necessary to mention the kindness and availability of the manager. Friendly, attentive, and very professional. A 10/10 for him, as well as for the place. An unforgettable stay.

Our housekeeper each day was polite and efficient. Our cave room, with lounge, dual bathroom and kitchette was perfect. The rooftop plunge pool was a great touch for watching the famous Oia sunsets. Oia and Ammoudi Bay are not cheap places to eat, so be mindful that if the 4 restaurants down on the waterfront start hitting the hip pocket, youll need to venture up the hill. I wouldnt recommend a family or kids, its an adult location. All in all, very happy with our experience.

WOW! WOW! WOW! Secret Gem's is amazing! Everything about it is magical. The location is breathtaking and so charming (despite the stairs down - don't let that stop you if you can walk stairs uphill) We stayed in both The Yard and The Evolution Suite both were fantastic. The majority of our family stayed in The Yard and it was perfect. We so enjoyed having a yummy breakfast outside nearly on top of the sea watching the boats and sipping our espresso. We even enjoyed the fun spa inside the unit. Each bed was clean, comfortable with beautiful views of the sea. The Evolution Suite was romantic and Wow! The view! The deck! Amazing! Relaxing in the hot tub with a glass of wine watching the sunset will never be matched. I cannot say enough for the hospitality of Nick and Chris. Nick was always there to help us with any small detail of our visit. We had a disruption in travel for my husband and daughter and Chris even offered to give them two complimentary catamaran trips because they missed time in Santorini! Both Nick and Chris were so thoughtful. Your search for an unforgettable hotel in Santorini just ended. Secret Gem's is it!

Stunning sunset views! We loved our suite with the jacuzzi tub on the balcony that we used every night for sunset :). Breakfast was waiting for us every morning on the balcony as well which we really enjoyed! Staff were excellent! Quick to respond and provide any items we needed. Overall an amazing stay and experience! We hope to come back one day and will be recommending this place to our family and friends! The only thing that is important to know, which was not an issue for us, is the walk up to Oia. It isn’t far but it can be a challenge for many.

My husband and I were so excited for our honeymoon we booked a room with a sauna and tub. Unfortunately when we got there they didn’t give us our room, no explanation and no refund. The staff working there everyday was really nice and helpful. However we had some complaints, the towels smell like pee. The drain was super clogged so you would be standing in a pool of water while showering. The views were great. Some of the other rooms looked nicer. I wish they would have put us in our original room we booked as it had more amenities. Chris was hard to reach and again he did not offer any refunds, especially since we left the last few days to go elsewhere. Nor upon research does it say Santorini closes after Nov 1st. We booked this location because Dimitris (restaurant ) was in the bay as well. So we intended to get meals down there as it was highly recommended. The donkeys that were advertised are also not there after Nov 1st. So get ready to walk up 300 steep stairs a day.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very large, clean and just as pictured. The breakfast every morning was great and loved that it was delivered to your window. The check in process and accessing the property was a little confusing. However the owner was able to contact us and support immediately.

Sales de la habitación y das directo con el techo de la vivienda del piso de abajo. Habia muebles viejos acumulados en la azotea y esa era la vista que tenia....y luego el mar. Tampoco esta bien explicado el lugar. Esta en el puerto (Bahia de Ammoudi) abajo de Oia. Para llegar a Oia hay que subir 270 escalones muy empinados. Habiendo un calor sofocante, subir y bajar esas escaleras es una experiencia para el olvido. Llegar arriba a cenar totalmente transpirado es horrible. Si las fotos de la habitación TREASURY suite hubiesen sido reales incluyendo la vista (no como estan en la página, preparadas para no ver la realidad) jamas habria reservado esto. Gaste mas de 350 dolares la noche. Me siento estafado. Claramente mi experiencia en esta habitación fue mala. No recomiendo este lugar. El desayuno muy malo tambien. Lo traen en recipientes de plastico mezclando todo, pan con huevos y demas. Algo verdaderamente de poco nivel. En fin, me gustaria recibir alguna explicación razonable porque esta experiencia fue horrible y caro por cierto.

We absolutely loved Secret Gems Suites and the staff. Nikos was attentive, fast, and very helpful. The view from our suite was picture perfect. Our one complaint was the donkey poop so close to the suites. We were prepared for the almost 300 stairs leading up the Oia and honestly, those were not even that bad. The problem was the donkeys that they have on the stairs for people to ride to the top. We were unaware of this circumstance and the fact that they poop all over the stairs. We didn’t even want to bring our shoes into the suite because we were nervous about the cleanliness of our shoes. Overall, the suite itself was fantastic. Just wish I knew about the donkeys prior to booking.

I did have a several challenges with the booking and with communication to meet someone to find this place, and with someone dropping the ball on not including the baby cot that was requested at booking. This all seems to have been the fault of the management office. However, I felt compelled to leave a review for Nikos, our concierge/contact during our stay. He completely blew us away with the beyond 5-star service he provided. He bent over backwards and more (metaphorically speaking) to not only correct the mistakes of the management office (including spending hours of his time at 11pm driving across the island to get a baby cot for us), but also solve every other problem we had. However highly I speak of him, he deserves higher praise still, and he made our stay truly memorable and remarkable. We've never experienced service coming anywhere close to as good as what Nikos provided. Would very much love to stay here again if he were to still be the concierge. The room was also very nice and clean, and we liked that the hot (warm) tub was much more private than many on the island.

Very pretty little suite. Clean. Great breakfast in the morning. Sabi was very attentive. Keep in mind that in order to go to Oia, there are 250 steps to climb, every time. If you’re ok with that. This is a beautiful location.

Amazing views!

Secret Gem is a modernized rustic hotel room that offered all the amenities we needed. The hotel’s rustic charm and its magnificent, jaw-dropping surroundings amazed me everyday. We are incredibly appreciative to both Chris and Sabi. Thank you for sharing this incredible experience that I will never forget.

Room that we booked was not given to us and no compensation was provided. Also no communication surrounding the lack of amenities unless we climbed steep stairs. Very inaccessible for one of our travellers.

The staff at Secret Gem Suites are incredibly kind, thoughtful, and helpful. They consistently reached out to see if we required anything, from ride transfers to breakfast preferences and more. We felt very spoiled and would definitely recommend anyone visiting Santorini to stay with them.

Upon arrival to Oia, Nikos from Secret Gem, met us and guided us to our room. He was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. Every morning we woke up to our breakfast basket at our window and they were delicious. He gave us many pointers on how to navigate and tour the island, which helped us bypass all the busy tourism/cruisers traffic. We had an amazing time! Thank you for making our visit special!

The manager onsite Nikolas was superb. He presented us a map and explained the entire island hotspots that we may be interested in and why. He was always there to help and answer questions and the place itself has an amazing view from the residence. You are in the culture of the bay and this staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome.

The property manager, Nick, was excellent and always available - great communication, delivered an abundance of breakfast daily (included in the cost!), delivered laundry service, replenished anything we needed in the villa, coordinated taxis for us etc. He was excellent! The property itself was stunning and better in person than the photos (when does that ever happen?!) - the rooms were so unique, the balcony/terrance was so spacious and just spectacular to sit out there right on the water in a private space. Very quiet and peaceful in Ammoudi Bay, incredible restaurant options. Sunset Ammoudi was our favorite, we went multiple times. The town of Oia is right above the area -- you can either call a taxi (the property will assist), or walk up the cliff steps. The walk has stunning views, and highly recommended doing so at least once. The only thing to note: Taxis cannot get to Ammoudi Bay within the hours close to sunset. It is very difficult for them to get down to the Bay due to traffic of people coming to Oia for sunset. Dinner in Oia for sunset (must make reservations) is not to be missed. But you will need to be in Oia hours before if you plan on a taxi and can return to the bay after 9pm. Not a big deal, just something to note! Once you go to Oia and see the crowds, you will be so thankful you are staying in peaceful Ammoudi Bay! Cannot recommend this stay enough - book now!!

We loved staying in amoudi bay, the restaurants around, the sunset view and going to the rocky swim spot was all awesome. Going up and down the stairs for Oia though is a pretty hassle even if you are young though.

The propertyinside is very nice and clean. It is in a beautful cove at the bottom of the very steep hillside. The issue is it is very inconvient. The hill you have to walk down is crazy dangerouly steep. You have to walk around the donkey poop and there are about 15 donkeys to deal with. It smells in the morning. If you want a taxi it cost approx 20 Eur, if you can find the taxi willing to take you. This is only a fifteen minute walk but very steep. It is very inconvient. It would be nice if they offered transportaion.The hotel gives you a bottle of water that is filled with tap water. I would not ever book this hotel. Find one closer to the top where all the shopping and pictures are. Oh yeah the Jacuzzi is about 90 deg F. Too cold for me.

This is a cute and comfortable boutique apart-hotel style property. There were great views of the water and the sunset from my room! There are several steps that you have to take to go down and then up to the property for drop off, so not advisable for those with challenges walking stairs of various heights. Most places in Santorini do only have stairs to access though. The tub in the bedroom was a jacuzzi bathtub that I just ended up not having time to use. One minor issue I had was the shower handle coming off and water coming out onto the floor when using the top water stream option. I was greeted at the taxi drop off and then the host, Nikolas, helped me with my luggage to the suite and then I just went through check in items with him there at the suite. There did not appear to be any lobby area. Nikolas was also very helpful in arranging for taxis, which needed to be called in advance since rides didn’t frequent that area. You can walk up to the main Oia city area, but donkeys/mules transport people on occasion, the stairs are inconsistent and can also be slippery - just taking a taxi is also an option. The rooftop was very nice. Tha safe is small and not standard size. For reference, it wouldn’t fit a shoe, but could fit a passport and oversized headphones.

We just stayed 4 nights here and really enjoyed the stay. There were 3 of us in Nest suite. It was tight but definitely manageable. It was clean and comfortable and the AC worked well. What really made the stay was Nikos. He is such a nice guy. He was always available to be reached via text and was quick to respond and very informative and helpful. Breakfast was delivered every morning about 9 and it was surprisingly good. Parking here in my opinion is really not possible except early in the day or scooters. All of the boats pick up and drop off here so it’s completely jammed and impassible in the late afternoon until after sunset when everything clears out. There are steps to walk up to Oia. They say 278, however they are kind of numbered and it was about 230 according to these numbers. I’m not in great shape at all and I only had to stop twice. There are also donkey rides for 10 euros each. The other option is transfer coordinated through Nikos for about 20-25 euros to Oia. We usually went up in the mid morning, ate lunch and sometimes dinner in Oia and then came back down. Make sure your phone is charged for the light so as to be able navigate the steps and avoid the donkey poo after dark. We also had friends staying up in Oia. It was nice to be able to come down and get away from the village in the evenings and being so close to the water was nice. There are 3 or 4 restaurants to choose from and there is an ice cream shop as well that sells water, beer, wine and snacks.

It’s close to OIA village and castle. One needs to have strong legs to walk but very clean, staff are helpful and friendly. Couple good restaurants close but anyways nothing is too far for a car in Santorini

Lovely apartment in the harbour area. 300 steps up to the town which would be a nightmare if you’re not fully fit. No local parking so suitcases up or down the steps are hard work. Well worth it for us

We absolutely loved Secret Gems Suites and the staff. Nikos was attentive, fast, and very helpful. The view from our suite was picture perfect. Our one complaint was the donkey poop so close to the suites. We were prepared for the almost 300 stairs leading up the Oia and honestly, those were not even that bad. The problem was the donkeys that they have on the stairs for people to ride to the top. We were unaware of this circumstance and the fact that they poop all over the stairs. We didn’t even want to bring our shoes into the suite because we were nervous about the cleanliness of our shoes. Overall, the suite itself was fantastic. Just wish I knew about the donkeys prior to booking.

Stunning sunset views! We loved our suite with the jacuzzi tub on the balcony that we used every night for sunset :). Breakfast was waiting for us every morning on the balcony as well which we really enjoyed! Staff were excellent! Quick to respond and provide any items we needed. Overall an amazing stay and experience! We hope to come back one day and will be recommending this place to our family and friends! The only thing that is important to know, which was not an issue for us, is the walk up to Oia. It isn’t far but it can be a challenge for many.

Secret Gem was fantastic. we loved being near the water and having some restaurants with beautiful views just below our suite. We had a lovely deck to sit out and watch the sunset cruise boats go by. My only recommendation would be to put out a few umbrellas for shade as it was blisteringly hot. The host was beyond helpful and so friendly. Breakfast was delivered in cute baskets each morning and was plenty for two and then some. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We stayed here in May 2025. The staff was amazing, very helpful and accommodating to our needs. The breakfast was great. And of course the views were stunning! This place is unlike any place we have stayed before! Lots of stairs to get to our stay but other than that there is not one negative things I can say about the place.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very large, clean and just as pictured. The breakfast every morning was great and loved that it was delivered to your window. The check in process and accessing the property was a little confusing. However the owner was able to contact us and support immediately.

La verdad una mala experiencia. Las fotos de la habitación son engañosas. Si bien se ve el mar, es una verdad a medias. Sales de la habitación y das directo con el techo de la vivienda del piso de abajo. Habia muebles viejos acumulados en la azotea y esa era la vista que tenia....y luego el mar. Tampoco esta bien explicado el lugar. Esta en el puerto (Bahia de Ammoudi) abajo de Oia. Para llegar a Oia hay que subir 270 escalones muy empinados. Habiendo un calor sofocante, subir y bajar esas escaleras es una experiencia para el olvido. Llegar arriba a cenar totalmente transpirado es horrible. Si las fotos de la habitación TREASURY suite hubiesen sido reales incluyendo la vista (no como estan en la página, preparadas para no ver la realidad) jamas habria reservado esto. Gaste mas de 350 dolares la noche. Me siento estafado. Claramente mi experiencia en esta habitación fue mala. No recomiendo este lugar. El desayuno muy malo tambien. Lo traen en recipientes de plastico mezclando todo, pan con huevos y demas. Algo verdaderamente de poco nivel. En fin, me gustaria recibir alguna explicación razonable porque esta experiencia fue horrible y caro por cierto.

Upon arrival to Oia, Nikos from Secret Gem, met us and guided us to our room. He was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. Every morning we woke up to our breakfast basket at our window and they were delicious. He gave us many pointers on how to navigate and tour the island, which helped us bypass all the busy tourism/cruisers traffic. We had an amazing time! Thank you for making our visit special!

朝食が美味しい、バスケットに入ってて可愛い。部屋が可愛い。受付のデスクはなく、欧州で普及してるチャットアプリを使ってスタッフとやりとりする。アジア圏の人はこのチャットアプリを持っていないのでスタッフとのやりとりに困るかもしれない。 ただ毎朝スタッフが巡回してくれるのであまり問題なかった。
