On arrival and checkout staff were friendly and professional. We had booked and paid extra for the 43 sq m room based on the website pictures as we wanted the queen bed and a seperate living room with a comfy couch and a little extra room compared to the studio and 31 sq m rooms. However, we were put in the smaller, cheaper 31 sq m room. There wasn’t a queen bed, just 2 singles pushed together, quite uncomfortable for two adults. Barely slept at all. Even for a single adult, the gap between the single beds would be annoying if expecting a queen bed. There was no couch as pictured, just some very small arm chairs with a coffee table between them, not great for a couple's getaway. We had chosen this accommodation over a nearby one as the gym here was available to use from 6am, which fits our schedule perfectly. However, at 6am and 6:15am the lift was locked and we couldn’t access the floor the gym was on. Despite having been able to check it out the night prior. Not sure if the booking mentioned a pool but that was out of order too. The balcony, shower, extractor fan and bathroom door were filthy. The TV only had a few free-to-air channels. Most places have smart TVs now. Overall, it was pretty disappointing. There are at least 3 other hotels within a 5 mins walk that offer a much better experience at a similar rate.

Amazing location, tight carpark, but easily navigable enough - just go straight to L6. Plenty of food and drink options within walking distance. The hotel is quiet, modern and well-appointed. We had a double, with three rooms. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. My only concerns were a) the noise from the train station next door that bugged my kids as they were trying to get to sleep, and b) the foyer light that I could not turn off and ended up removing the globe for the night. Other than that, it was a great stay and well worth the price, thanks!

I prepaid two nights of parking but only used one night. Was told at check in and check out time that only will be charged as per actual usage. Later I never saw the refund of parking fee and was told they cannot remember such case. Welcome letter said everyday cleaning except weekend and full service at third day of stay. But third day no cleaning service at all and was told the letter was incorrect.

A/C was limited in effectiveness, and the remote for same didn't work. Fan was broken in the bathroom. Couldn't lower all the blinds, limiting privacy. Parking was painful and very expensive.

The two bedroom unit I booked for four days faces east and is also in the middle of a lot of other apartments that look into the room so it is sort of important for privacy and morning light to have the electric roller blinds working. Well they didn’t. The blinds in the bedroom either stopped half way or rolled out on the floor. Furthermore there were no instructions on how to use them. Windows filthy, TV in the second bedroom didn’t work because the cable had been pulled out, no shelf space in the bathrooms, stupid tiny mirror, kitchen so dark you can hardly see. Might sound like first world problems but this place has a bit of catching up to do. Shame as the location is really good.

reception staff were friendly and easy to communicate with. we booked a 2-bedroom unit and it was in very clean condition when we checked in, and housekeeping was done twice a week. WIFI was strong and Netflix was available for enjoyment. Hotel location was excellent as it was just next to the South Yarra metro and tram stations. slightly heard a few traffic noises but they were acceptable. Many nice restaurants in walking distances. we cooked every evening, and the supermarkets nearby and the dishwasher in the unit helped a lot. we had stayed 15 nights, and it has been our home away from home.

The staff during our stay and communication with the hotel prior to arrival was great. Unfortunately the room itself was not, it was quite dirty. Beds were not made properly (flat sheets were not tugged under the mattress & comforter sheets weren’t secure), stray hairs remained in the bathroom, couch had white stains, entire room was dusty, glass balcony doors had smeared hand prints & blinds were broken & could not be put up. If the cleanliness were better, my review would’ve been too. Otherwise a good location as long as you don’t mind being right next to the train station (which for us was great).

Little bit disappointed to be honest. Stayed a few times before and very happy with location and convenience so continued to come back but this stay didn’t hit the mark. Room freshly painted as we were told but as carpet is to be replaced it looked as though it was used as the drop sheet. Room poorly cleaned with 3-4 smoke butts on the balcony area and the inside floor and couch with chip and biscuit crumbs. Credit card was taken on arrival but received a call on the second day to say that our room key had been cancelled and we had no access and we needed to pay immediately. No issues other than they just hadn’t processed payment.

I strongly recommend against staying at this place. The short version: dirty, run down, uncomfortable and unforgivable. This place claims to be a 4 star property… it isn\'t. We\'ve stayed previously at other Punt Hill properties, they were fine enough. South Yarra "Grand" was absolutely terrible, and needs urgent remedial work. In no particular order: - The kitchen sink didn\'t have any hot water. At all. Switch the tap to hot water, a small trickle of cold water came out. - The rooms are absolutely filthy, if our baby crawled around on the carpet for 5-10 minutes his hands, knees and feet became coated in grime. At the barest minimum the carpet needs a professional steam clean. - The bathroom was fillthy, the balcony was worse. - The kitchen lacked basic amenities and had broken cupboards. - the aircon doesn\'t reach the bedroom leaving it over warm and stuffy, the bed was awful, the bed linen uncomfortable. - the sofa was cheap, old, and scuffed to the point of holes in the fabric. - the wifi broke, reception said "nothing we can do". At best, this place needs to be closed for a month or two for cleaning, repairs, and to have all the furnishings replaced. Avoid.

I strongly recommend against staying at this place. The short version: dirty, run down, uncomfortable and unforgivable. This place claims to be a 4 star property… it isn\'t. We\'ve stayed previously at other Punt Hill properties, they were fine enough. South Yarra "Grand" was absolutely terrible, and needs urgent remedial work. In no particular order: - The kitchen sink didn\'t have any hot water. At all. Switch the tap to hot water, a small trickle of cold water came out. - The rooms are absolutely filthy, if our baby crawled around on the carpet for 5-10 minutes his hands, knees and feet became coated in grime. At the barest minimum the carpet needs a professional steam clean. - The bathroom was fillthy, the balcony was worse. - The kitchen lacked basic amenities and had broken cupboards. - the aircon doesn\'t reach the bedroom leaving it over warm and stuffy, the bed was awful, the bed linen uncomfortable. - the sofa was cheap, old, and scuffed to the point of holes in the fabric. - the wifi broke, reception said "nothing we can do". At best, this place needs to be closed for a month or two for cleaning, repairs, and to have all the furnishings replaced. Avoid.

I prepaid two nights of parking but only used one night. Was told at check in and check out time that only will be charged as per actual usage. Expedia said daily housekeeping but we didn’t have housekeeping for 3 days. Customer service was not good as the reception was not answering calls. Room was not very clean as we say nails on the carpet. When we asked for coffee sachets, they said they ran out of stock which was not very helpful. We didn’t have a good stay and not planning to come back.

Windows could have been cleaned, a double bed rather than two singles would have been better. The room was slightly frayed e.g. cracked mirror, a dated kettle/clothes horse. Staff were helpful and appreciated the ability to hold bags the final day after we had checked out.

Check in was easy, friendly staff. I stayed there on the 9th of March, left an item behind called when I realised & staff were great in assuring me that my item was being held for pick up. Unfortunately I’ve yet to collect as I don’t live close enough to pop in & collect.

We stay here when visiting MEL, for work or family visit. Great area next to Train and Tram, easy access to city with many shops and restaurants near by. Reception staff are fantastic specially Patrick who assisted us.

Amazing location, tight carpark, but easily navigable enough - just go straight to L6. Plenty of food and drink options within walking distance. The hotel is quiet, modern and well-appointed. We had a double, with three rooms. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. My only concerns were a) the noise from the train station next door that bugged my kids as they were trying to get to sleep, and b) the foyer light that I could not turn off and ended up removing the globe for the night. Other than that, it was a great stay and well worth the price, thanks!

reception staff were friendly and easy to communicate with. we booked a 2-bedroom unit and it was in very clean condition when we checked in, and housekeeping was done twice a week. WIFI was strong and Netflix was available for enjoyment. Hotel location was excellent as it was just next to the South Yarra metro and tram stations. slightly heard a few traffic noises but they were acceptable. Many nice restaurants in walking distances. we cooked every evening, and the supermarkets nearby and the dishwasher in the unit helped a lot. we had stayed 15 nights, and it has been our home away from home.

Use the City Loop train service for convenient connections to southern Cross train and bus station where airport buses and interstate or regional trains arrive. There are lifts if you have heavy luggage, but they may take a bit to find at first. The hotel is highrise and very modern and clean and well equipped. We shopped for breakfast supplies at the local Coles grocery store about 500m away. Great location with lots of nice restaurants a short walk away on Toorak road west of the train station. A really good experience!
