Friendly and helpful evening staff. Cute but small rooms with a wonderful view of the river. My recommendation is to not use the laundry facility alone or after dark, as I was unexpectedly locked inside the stand-alone laundry room (with no windows, made of cement) and the fire department had to come and break the door to free me from the room. This was quite scary at the time (funny now) but the staff did work diligently to attempt to open the door that had locked behind me. Customer service was good, facilities just needed updated locks :)

We stayed one night with our dog and it was great. Room was good sized, clean and well maintained. Parking was easy. Live music on the patio. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was included and provided awide variety of options. Would definitely stay here again.

Lisa does it all from check-in to making breakfast to cleaning up after it, and she does it well. You can order french fries, chicken strips and a few other items but the nearest restaurant is about 1/2 mile away. Bring quarters if you plan to use the 1 washer and dryer. If you’re a big TV fan, I’d ask about that. I believe it’s a smart TV and the non-WiFi channel guide doesn’t give show info. At least I didn’t figure it out. WiFi was fine for iPad streaming. You can tell there is pride of ownership from the extra amenities in the room (iron/board, hairdryer, mini fridge and microwave, etc). The pool looked clean and inviting. A good, comfortable, quiet 2 nights with excellent service. I’d stay again.

This is a great property. Staff is friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that it was not very clean. The sheets had stains on them. The toilet seat would not stay up because the toilet was not installed correctly.

The view was great from the room but not exactly necessary as we checked in late and left early. The room smelled like it had been a converted smokers room and there was hair on the drain of the shower which made us skeptical that the room had ever been cleaned.

The young woman who greeted and checked us in was so helpful and even provided me with a toothbrush and toothpaste when I forgot mine. The room was spotless and the view nice. Only complaint is that it's time for a new mattress...ours was quite lumpy and not supportive. Overall, reasonable value for one night stay.

This was a stopover on our way back home. Two things bothered me: there were several spiders and spiderwebs in the room, and the fridge wasn't working properly, freezing everything inside. On the bright side, the bed was comfortable.

Well kept motel on a hill above the Columbia River. Motel staff was great, room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was decent and breakfast room has a beautiful view. Four stars because of the freeway noise.

They have done some nice work with this property, but the small things add up. My room was very small, with no desk, and a sticky top to the dresser, which I had to clean. Also, the lock to the room was finicky and staff were unhelpful in solving that issue.

This was my first time staying at the Celilo Inn. My queen room the first night was in a building not on the River front and had a room above it. I wasn’t thrilled when the upstairs occupant got up and started moving about -presumably to leave at 5 am and I could clearly hear each and every footstep like there was inexpensive laminate flooring in that room. When I got going for the day, I went to the front desk and asked to be relocated to a room where there was not room above. The staff was accommodating and I was moved to a River front room. Spectacular views. Ask for a River front room if you have the option. I would stay here again!

The room was fine, and it has a great view of the river. The odd thing was that the heater was right next to the head of the bed, and it blows quite hard right in your face! We had to turn it off for the night, and so room got a bit chilly. It warmed up ok in the morning.

No internet...very inconvenient in this day and age. When researching hotel it stated internet was provided. When we arrived (after reserving and paying) front desk began making excuses about provider and that internet was "spotty". For our entire stay we never had internet service! It was mentioned to the desk and felt we should get reduction in rate for lack of service. Desk person was a bit rude, said could not help due to 3rd party reservation and could not give cash refund because they were cashless operation. Very poor cust service. As for the room, thin walls allowed a lot of noise from next door and creaky floors echoed from above. Very weak and don't understand how others gave the ratings they did. BEWARE!

I stay here 4 times a year. Is just so comfortable. A beautiful view. And Jonny and Iamara are the most welcoming and friendly people! And they are very helpful too! They welcome me by my name! You will not regret staying here. And they have a great wintertime deal when you book direct!

We didn't know what to expect as we had never stayed there before, but we were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome, friendly staff & even a glass of wine as we checked in. Great recommendations for dinner & a nice brft. in the morning before we continued on our journey. Will stay there again if we get the opportunity.

Was informed by expedia there was a complimentary bottle of wine to be given upon checking in...this did not happen. When subject was brought up hotel stated "that was a long time ago...we dont do that anymore".

Place is a little out of the way but has a nice view of the river and dam. Staff was very friendly-Jenifer in the morning was very nice and seemed to go out of her way to answer questions and take care of guests.

Wonderful location, incredible views, super friendly staff, great continental breakfast, comfortable beds, just excellent all the way around. If you're looking for a wedding venue this place is absolutely beautiful!

The bad part is that the property is kind of hard to get to. Having said that, the staff was very friendly and helpful. My view of the Columbia River was great. The breakfast was simple but very good. I would stay there again when i would visit The Dalles again.

Initially unimpressed by old fashioned motel style. Didn’t realize The Dalles OR was such an industrial area. However it provided a decent place to stay with a very basic breakfast. Places for dinner were a couple of miles away.

We had a very nice Labor Day Weekend at the Celilo Inn, including an excellent Saturday night listening to live music on the patio while enjoying cocktails. The approach is a little strange---10 mph on a poorly maintained road right next to a row of houses---but this older property has been nicely updated and has wonderful views. The staff were great (another couple in our party discovered they had been given a room that hadn't been cleaned, and the problem was solved quickly and confidently). Hotel breakfast does include some protein (I'm diabetic, so this is worth mentioning to me). It is convenient to the Maryhill Museum, and an easy drive to the more heavily touristed Hood River.

Upgraded, modern, clean room at an affordable price. Great view. Wasn’t expecting much for breakfast but they offered waffles, eggs, sausage patties, blueberry muffins, English muffins, dry cereal, apples, bananas, oranges, apple and orange juice, yogurt, coffee. I will stay here again.

This property is unique. Perched on a hillside overlooking the Columbia River and The Dalles dam, the view from our room was awesome. The dam was lit at night with red, white and blue lights. The room looked recently renovated, well done. Although the train runs below it, we did not hear the trains at night. There's a restaurant (limited menu) and full bar for those weary travelers not wishing to go in search of other options. The best part was listening to Al Hale play guitar and sing on the patio while we ate our pizza and had drinks and watched the sunset over the river. Our one and only issue was that the sheet and mattress pad would not stay in place on the bed!

This was a very nice property. The room was very clean and the view was amazing! We stayed two nights and housekeeping refreshed our room after the first night even though I was told every 3 days. At check in the front desk person was too busy talking to a co-worker to give me much information about my stay. The breakfast the next morning was less than desirable. When we arrived at the breakfast room the coffee, fruit, milk, waffle batter, and rolls were empty. We had to wait for things very slowly to be replenished. I would have given the hotel 5 stars but the front area customer service was lacking.

Stayed here for a night last weekend. The view - good. What’s not obvious on their booking site is that there are 3 tiers of buildings. One with a great view. One behind that building with only a view of the parking lot. And one above and behind that with an okay view of the river but also overlooks the parking and other two buildings. My room was quite small - a bit disappointing- but all the same it was well outfitted with a TV and fridge. It also has a microwave and coffee maker. The hair dryer was not functional. My biggest complaint about the room is that it reeked of air freshener. So strong. So unpleasant. Obviously trying to cover something up. Anyway, I was really glad the window opened and it was a pleasant evening. I slept with the window open and that helped quite a bit. There was a guitarist/singer on the patio that evening which was a nice touch. While they had food for purchase, we opted for Dominos pizza. Breakfast - they had cereal, waffles, toast, yogurt which was good. They also had some packaged egg dishes still in the cellophane which wasn’t really very appetizing. While the various online sites advertised a glass of wine on arrival, my group was not offered any. For the price I paid ($170), I just expected better.

Lisa does it all from check-in to making breakfast to cleaning up after it, and she does it well. You can order french fries, chicken strips and a few other items but the nearest restaurant is about 1/2 mile away. Bring quarters if you plan to use the 1 washer and dryer. If you’re a big TV fan, I’d ask about that. I believe it’s a smart TV and the non-WiFi channel guide doesn’t give show info. At least I didn’t figure it out. WiFi was fine for iPad streaming. You can tell there is pride of ownership from the extra amenities in the room (iron/board, hairdryer, mini fridge and microwave, etc). The pool looked clean and inviting. A good, comfortable, quiet 2 nights with excellent service. I’d stay again.

What a pleasant surprise! Stopping here was a last minute decision when we couldn't make it the last 5 hours home. The price was great. The room was spotless! The bed was comfortable. Our complementary continental breakfast had a wide array of choices that sure boosted our food budget. The view of the Columbia river and Mt. Hood was awesome. We will certainly be back.

This motel was an absolute hidden gem! It was super cute, welcoming, and had such a fun atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to give us recommendations since they were local to the area. One of our favorite surprises was the live music—it made the evening so much more enjoyable. They also offered pizza and fries, which was perfect when we wanted a quick snack without having to go anywhere else. They had drinks as well, and the bartender definitely wasn’t shy with the pours! Between the friendly staff, live music, food, drinks, and overall charm, we absolutely loved our stay. Such a fun and unique place, and we would definitely stay here again!

Big, clean room with a view of the Dalles dam and Columbia River. Only negative was our air conditioner was right next to the bed, so that when it turned on, it was blowing directly on the bed. Would have been better if the bed was away from the ac.
