The hotel was very nice, very rustic and having the restaurant and coffee shop onsite was very convenient. The only complaint I would have is the beds are very, very firm and there is no option for a different type of pillow. Also, be aware that you will be charged $28 a day for parking. Overall it was a good stay, just not very comfortable sleeping if you are used to a soft bed.

Fabulous boutique hotel a short walk (10 minutes) from the beach. Smaller spot, very chill vibe and great personal service. The Switchboard restaurant and a cafe are attached to the lobby. My 4th stay and I will be back!

Excellent service at The Fin. Shower was rather slippery. No non-slip treatment or mat. Surprising. Area is nice with good food. Bed was ok. Plenty of shampoo and conditioner. Parking is tight so if you have a big vehicle good luck!

Walking distance to the beach. There’s a bag with towels inside each room which is convenient. There’s a bar and local coffee shop inside the hotel which serves food. We only had breakfast, but it was very good. Staff were very friendly.

Bed was extremely comfy and I was always greeted with a smile by the staff. The cafe attached to the hotel makes great lattes as well. I will definitely stay here again when I return!

Nicely remodeled older property. Quality bedding and towels. Pleasant staff. Busy street. Small parking area that is $25 extra. Neighborhood is just off the base. Bars. Drunks and homeless on the streets but no one menacing.

I have stayed here a few times. It’s an older hotel that has been turned into a smaller “boutique” style hotel by Hilton. It is very well done, comfortable and close to everything. I highly recommend it. Also, there is great restaurant next to the lobby!!

Online it said that we were going to have a bathtub, that was one reason why we chose this place to stay because we needed a bathtub for our 3 year old. There was no bath tub at all. The room is unsafe for children. We were in room 202. The window can be easily opened and someone can fall a far drop and get very hurt. I had to constantly moniter the window because our 3 year old wanted to play by it because the room is very limited on space. The business next to the hotel wa blasting loud music and loud bass all night long. From 10pm - 12am i was lying there trying to sleep but couldnt because our window was shaking from the bass and the walls were not so thick. The guest service told us its $25 extra for parking but because of the internet being out of service they gave us a free parking permit... If im ataying at your hotel you should already inquire parking and not dump an additional $25 fee for the worlds smallest parking lot. Other than that everything else was okay.

Disappointing there wasn’t an enclosed bathroom with a shower. The shower was literally off the bedroom. Very cramped for two people. No pool at the hotel. Very expensive for what you get.

Great little boutique Hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was great - although we were above the bar so was a little noisy until closing (c11pm). Theres a great little bar serving cocktails and food. There's an attached coffee shop but I didnt use. About a 10 min walk to the beach. Parking out back is a little tight - but right behind the hotel.

Had to use iron as a table in bathroom. There is a definite need for more places to put belongings. Towel rack broken off and gone so the luggage rack had been brought into bathroom and towels on it when we arrived. Asked maid to at least give new towels b-4 stepping out 2nd day am as advised of minimal cleaning of room unless asking when booked, but front desk person not there when stepping out. Didn’t like having trash not taken daily and our glasses and mugs were dirty 2nd day. Night attendant did bring towels when returning 2nd evening. Alley where we were told to park was dirty and sketchy. I asked about why maid didn’t bring towels when checking out and was told probably didn’t speak English. She said we weren’t charged for parking either night. I assumed the night attendant did that. Which we appreciated. Not to par with usual Hilton quality. Room was freshly painted and bathroom tiles looked great. Bed comfortable. Safe didn’t work.

Okay hotel, unfortunately our room at some mold issues due to no ventilation and the entire hotel is much older/worn out than photos show. With that being said, the linens were clean, AC worked and it was a great location for why we were traveling. Probably wouldn’t spend the same amount to stay again but not a bad place if you want to stay by the beach.

Except for a few details this was a pretty good place to stay. Clean and quiet although right on Coast Highway. The room is very small; the bed was comfortable. The shower was good but should have a grab bar! The sink faucet needs attention as a small stream shoots out sideways, soaking the counter! You have to keep the blind down as the only window looks out on a stairway so no privacy at all. The AC was quiet and efficient. Very stylish boutique hotel.

The staff was awesome, but our room had one large window that looked out into the street, so that if we had any of the blinds opened people could see into the entire room. Not ideal. But the bed was comfy and the staff was nice.

The Fin hospitality is amazing! Me and my son had a great stay The young lady in the front desk named Sarah she has a beautiful personality awesome customer service!. Next time we come again I hope to see Sarah morning shift .And as well we had the opportunity to dine in for breakfast and our server was Dean, good service we love our breakfast The Fin hotel . Thank you for stay

I am a Hilton Honors member, worked in hospitality, have friends/family in the industry, and I have stayed here 20+ times. I called on Friday to try to change my reservation and the GM, Stan wouldn't approve it. The hotel was completely booked so it's not a numbers thing... I had previously called at the beginning of October and spoken w/him to confirm and he verified that the day was wrong and he changed it. So...Stan's LIE about not being able to change the dates is absolute BS!!! I had a fever and I am under the weather. With COVID on the rise, one would think that he wouldn't hesitate to change the date, infecting other guests and staff could be detriment to the hotel. And for what exactly? Because he could? Not a happy guest!

As a property it was exactly what we were looking for in an Oceanside experience. The reason for the 3 stars is purely because of the rude concierge lady who didn’t make us feel welcome from the moment we checked in all the way until we checked out after 2 nights stay. She was great at letting you know what an inconvenience you were to her as a guest at The Fin. Won’t be back thanks to her rude attitude, angry demeanor and generally just unpleasant human to interact with.

As a property it was exactly what we were looking for in an Oceanside experience. The reason for the 3 stars is purely because of the rude concierge lady who didn’t make us feel welcome from the moment we checked in all the way until we checked out after 2 nights stay. The staff was delightful with exception of 1 night shift front desk, as the issue was resolved without loss, it will be overlooked. The hotel & amenities were everything we needed & wanted. Location was amazing regarding delicious food, drinks, coffe bars, & the beach! Great area!

There are plenty of restaurants at which to dine within walking distance of the hotel. The pier is nearby as well. I took an Amtrak to get to Oceanside, and the train station is a five minute walk from the hotel. The host was very accommodating, as he extended my checkout time by one hour ! I would recommend this hotel.

Cool spot pretty close to beach and good dining spots. Building itself was cool but not easy parking and the nearby area a little run down.

Not worth the money. I paid for a room with a balcony but it wasn’t private there were multiple room facing us as well as houses. In the morning there was a strong smell of gas that over took the room. The room was smaller than average and the area had a ton of homeless people. Not to mention the inconvenience of having to go all the way around the multiple streets to get to the beach because of the train station. Over all bad experience at this hotel. Would not recommend staying here.

Nicely remodeled older property. Quality bedding and towels. Pleasant staff. Busy street. Small parking area that is $25 extra. Neighborhood is just off the base. Bars. Drunks and homeless on the streets but no one menacing.

Quick get-away with a friend and it was great. Walking distance to everything-the Thur Farmer’s Market, strand hotels and restaurants, harbor restaurants, beach…did not have to get in my car until I left. I did bring my own down pillow and am glad I did. High quality sheets and comforter and towels. Great little place to stay.

The Fin hospitality is amazing! Me and my son had a great stay The young lady in the front desk named Sarah she has a beautiful personality awesome customer service!. Next time we come again I hope to see Sarah morning shift .And as well we had the opportunity to dine in for breakfast and our server was Dean, good service we love our breakfast The Fin hotel . Fabulous boutique hotel a short walk (10 minutes) from the beach. Smaller spot, very chill vibe and great personal service. The Switchboard restaurant and a cafe are attached to the lobby. My 4th stay and I will be back!

Walking distance to the beach. There’s a bag with towels inside each room which is convenient. There’s a bar and local coffee shop inside the hotel which serves food. We only had breakfast, but it was very good. Staff were very friendly.

Our two night stay was nice! The room was above the main entrance and restaurant, facing the main road. It was spacious and quiet and very comfortable. Loved the robe and slippers, always a nice perk and the sun shining into the window in the morning. We had coffee at the coffee shop and dessert at the restaurant and both were excellent.

Bed was extremely comfy and I was always greeted with a smile by the staff. The cafe attached to the hotel makes great lattes as well. I will definitely stay here again when I return!

I have stayed here a few times. It’s an older hotel that has been turned into a smaller “boutique” style hotel by Hilton. It is very well done, comfortable and close to everything. I highly recommend it. Also, there is great restaurant next to the lobby!!

Great little boutique Hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was great - although we were above the bar so was a little noisy until closing (c11pm). Theres a great little bar serving cocktails and food. There's an attached coffee shop but I didnt use. About a 10 min walk to the beach. Parking out back is a little tight - but right behind the hotel.

The location is prime, however parking is a nightmare. They only offer a small, tight lot that has a few spots. Since there’s a restaurant at the hotel it’s not reserved for the people who re staying there, anyone can park there. When I arrived not only was the front desk woman rude, she let me know the lot was full and didn’t have any suggestions for me. Street parking was not an option since you’d have to move your car by 5am. Honesty it’s an old hotel that they slapped new paint on. I was pretty bummed I booked here and don’t recommend it at all. Was expensive for what I got in return.

when the name Hilton is attached to the primary location, one would expect more than what the Fin Hotel represented under the "Tapestry Collection". I was not impressed at all. The view from my room was tiny version of a used car lot. I brought my own coffee pot and water. The restaurant adjacent to the lobby called for a reservation which I was not informed of this at check in. After I was granted permission to dine this establishment , I placed an order for a Grey Goose brand vodka martini. The server's eyes bulged and he suddenly looked faint. He immediately began to procrastinate over what I ordered verses what they had to offer. Finally he admitted that they only had the "house" brand which was an unfamiliar rye grain vodka label. Perhaps something found at World Market. The biggest disappointment was the fact that there was no bathtub. Since I was only there for one day. I could have parked on the street at no charge. Rather having to pay $28.00 for parking inwhich I had to drag my luggage some distance to the hotel lobby. (I'm 76 years old.) I thought under the Hilton name this location would reflect considerable representation? But it did not. This location made Best Western look like a palace.
