Motel 6-Bishop, CA

This was kind of a struggle for us from the beginning. At check-in our first room was occupied, the second room hadn’t been cleaned. I also paid thru a third party site and was charged again when I arrived even after saying I already paid. They advertise laundry, which is out of order and when questioned, staff said we don’t have laundry (it’s literally on a huge sign outside on the building). Had to ask for shampoo etc and they didn’t have any. The sink also broke so it wouldn’t drain. I am thru-hiking the PCT, I have lived in a tent for over a month, my standards are low…but when I do come into town I’d like a shower with soap and to wash some clothes (specifically when advertised as such) or at least in a functioning sink. This motel did not even meet hiker trash standards to be honest, I’d go…basically anywhere else!

Check in was fine. The parking lot has really tight parking spots, but it's navigable. The room was clean and well taken care of, but our mini-fridge never worked and the flooring in the bathroom was warped and bubbled. Overall, whether we go back or not will depend on the cost and how rich we feel. At $140 for a two-queen room in a motel 6, it's high. But for the area, the hotel was downright affordable.

No coffee in room. Shower has lots of cracked tiles in it. AC was just ok. Staff wasn’t really friendly

Parking our truck was problematic if the lot was full. The noise was awful. We had loud T.V.’s on both sides, which made it difficult to sleep and a barking dog on one side as well. Better insulation between units would probably help. The bath towels are threadbare. The washer/laundry was out of commission. Check in was easy and fast. Friendly service.

Typical Motel 6. Room was basically bare. TV came in and out. Vending machines out of order. Only one night though. Generally like to stay away from Motel 6, but pretty much the only choice

The only positive thing to say is that the room seemed to be newly renovated. However, the beds were very uncomfortable, the pillows ineffective, and the linens had holes in them. There are no coffee making facilities in the room, and housekeeping did not visit the room during our 3-night stay to refresh cups, towels, soap etc. Our toilet screeched due to a pressure build up (one presumes) which kept waking us up in the night, and there were ants which quickly found any food left out on the table or counter space; we informed the front desk of these issues and to our knowledge they were not addressed. The pool was also out of order with no explanation as to why or when it would be open again, very disappointing when it is 100F outside.

Don't know why the pool area/BBQ was off-limits??? Pool was in great condition, though!

Property is run down, but in safe part of town . Floors are buckling. Shower/bath fixtures ore old and corroded and barely workable . Bath sink and fixtures are nice and relatively new. Parking is not nearly enough spaces. One night parked in Best Western (next door). Front desk personnel friendly and helpful. BUT IS A A PLACE GOOD ENOUGH FOR SAFE SKEEPING. Would stay again providing pricing is in line with property condition… which this time it was. Most of the time it is not!

Water damage in the bathrooms, smoke detector went off for no reason at midnight, mold on the shower

Lots of mold in the bathroom. Cleanliness was really lacking. I would never consider staying here again.

there was hair on the bed sheets

This room felt disgusting, like it hadn’t been cleaned. Hair all over the bed and pillows, the floor was all warped and not clean. Lights didn’t work, vanity area was broken. Terrible experience, usually stay at the vagabond but thought I’d try here and never again

I stayed in the same exact room one month ago and they still hadn't fixed the bathroom sink which was leaking water onto the floor. They basically ignored my request. Dirty floors as well.

Clean, surprisingly big for a motel room. Staff are nice. Would consider this place again when we're in Bishop. At the time of booking, was the cheapest motel I could find, but the amenities, cleanliness, proximity to restaurants and stores are just as the same as other inns and motels in Bishop only they charge more.

Our room was completely disgusting. The toilet seat was dirty, however we wiped it down with wipes that we had, we found long hairs on the bathroom Sink, on one of the “clean towels”, and inside of the refrigerator. No idea why or how? The shower tub was discusting as well, the caulking around the tub was all completely cracked and the water was steeping hot even though I had it in the cold setting. The pillows were literally the size of a shoe box and as thin as a slice of cheese. Horribke stay.

I had shipped a box to the motel 6, and when I arrived the front desk attendant ensured I had the box delivered to my room within 10 minutes. The room was clean, comfortable, and very updated. I was happy with my stay there. I am a returning customer. I spent 2 days there last year and was assisted just then too. Thank you for being ready for our arrival. My group rented 4 rooms on 8/6/25. Other members in my party included the Davis family, Siemeck family, Ramos Family, and the Bove family.

Motel 6 in Bishop is generally OK for its price. I would have rated higher if not for 1. Very thin blankets. I had to put on my long pants and hoodie to sleep comfortably. Next time, I'll look for or ask for extra blankets. 2. Very slow wifi and a system that would log you device out if it's idle for a period of time, and you have to log in again. It's a pain in the neck.

Good place to stay. Rooms are big. Staff is nice.

Will be returning! We love staying in bishop, whether we are staying in the area or going up to Mammoth. The location is great; the rooms were clean and surprisingly REALLY spacious. We got a double bed room and it was very big. Had all the utilities we needed and even a cute little corner sofa. Very tiny but we that was in addition to the desk/table. The pool was a bonus for my kids. The price was very reasonable and the staff was friendly.

The air conditioner sounds very noisy. could not sleep. should be well maintained!

This is my second stay at Bishop Motel 6 in several days. The toilet tank, at times, produced a continuous high-pitched squeaking noise. I had to use earplugs for my sanity. The wifi was horrible. When available, the speed was about 160 Kbps.

Very convenient to downtown. The only problem was the a/c made a whining noise all the time. Changing fan speed or temperature setting did not change it at all.

Room really spacious.

There's not much that can be remedied as far as the paper thin walls between rooms. I was serenaded by my neighbor's TV, microwave, conversations, and music.

Nice basic bed & shower motel. My only real complaint would be the AC window unit was noisy as hell, so I had to shut it off while trying to sleep. Other than that for me it OK for a 2 night stay

Have stayed here a handful of times over the past few years. Everything has been okay until this trip. Requested a "Stair Free" room entrance because of physical limitations, assuming (yes I know what it means) that I would get a down stairs room. Nope, second floor. So if you need a downstairs room, may I suggest that you type in your request and not use one of the choices given. The Room Needed to dump water into the toilet while flushing. The sink and tub did not drain properly. Nothing like standing in a pool of dirty water while showering. The Staff The young lady when I checked in said, sorry, there was nothing she could do about the room. The young lady when I checked out, did offer a small discount and seem more genuine. Will I stay again? Most likely. Overall, the place is cheap, and cleaner than other places I have stayed while in Bishop.

Checked in unloaded my things. Went to dinner, etc, came back and my key would not work. Tried to call the office 6 times and the phone was picked up then hung up. Walked to the office and it was closed, with a sign on the door stating they would be back at 9:30 pm. It was 9:00 pm and was rainy and cold. They finally showed up at 9:40 and had to use a regular key to let me in my room and stated a card key would not work as the door needed batteries and if I needed to go anywhere I would have to come to the front desk to be let back in my room. Did not offer another room. Was told by the young lady to not give her a hard time.

The overnight stay on 11/19/24 was a disaster. I've stayed at Your location 8 times this year and almost each visit, there has been an issue with internet, TV, people or a room that was not that clean. I'm a good customer and I leave a tip for the maids every time I check out. This visit was the worst. I switched rooms twice due to poor internet and was told via relay message from the manager that if I was unhappy, I would get a full refund but I had to leave tonight. It was after 5pm, dark and I am a female. The manager didn't want to give a partial refund because internet wasn't working even though Motel 6 proudly boasts free wifi I am told it is a courtesy item and I am not charged for it. Funny how the internet works when it's time to take a customer's money. The blanket on the bed had a stain so I had to ask twice for another blanket. It was not even 3pm yet I was told "I don't know if housekeeping is still here". The staff cannot handle the simpleest issues and it's not like I'm asking for the moon. I was told I would get a partial refund but I have not heard from the manager nor have I seen a credit to my card. Again, I've stayed at this location 8 times in 2024 and its been an issue of some sort. I am a good guest. I don't trash the rooms, I'm good to the staff, I leave a gratuity as my mother was a housekeeper and I know how hard this job is. It's a motel 6. Fine I get it. But upon arrival back to my room, the room wasn't cleaned. I called the front office and basically they said " too bad " we don't curan rooms unless you ask us to ... sorry buddy you clean the room unless we ask you not to. Then the front desk person was scolding me on how they gave a sign, that says we sigh clean unless you ask. Let me remind you that you are in a hospitality business and you should make it mandatory for whoever is at the front desk to inform the client stating that " we don't clean " I have seen a lot of places I traveled the world but this was beyond me!!! Better policy is to let people know or inform other than a piece of paper on the office counter that NOBODY reads ! Shame on you

I love the area of Bishop. When we asked for extra pillows, we were asked to come and get them. No shampoo or conditioner in the room. Pool was closed. When I told the staff that I was gonna write an unfavorable review, she shrugged her shoulders and said I don’t care.

Great stay, close to restaurants and amenities.

Ideal hotel, huge but basic room, clean and usual facilities. Free parking. Staff helpful. Easy walk to town with several restaurants and shops.

This Motel6 in Bishop was clean and quiet. There was coffee in the morning & Denny's across the street. Therefore, we stayed again on our way back from Lake Tahoe.

Breakfast was non-existant.
