Værelserne er designet/renoveret i klassisk "country"-stil med moderne tvist og gennemført. Værelserne samt badeværelserne er meget rummelig og har de nødvendige faciliteter inkl. kaffe/te. Morgenmaden var god. Der er ikke den typiske buffet, men der en mulighed for at vælge mange forskellige retter og menuer i rigelige mænder og god kvalitet. Gratis parkering (begrænset pladser) lige udenfor hotellet.

The staff are lovely and enhance the quality of the stay here. Breakfast was excellent. Restaurant average. Room comfortable and well laid out. There is NO PARKING within the hotel grounds but on street parking outside and it is pot luck whether you can park close by. The claim to have parking is misleading at best. Location overlooking the Harbour is excellent.

Larissa (breakfast) was outstanding (friendly, attentive, personable). Beds super comfy. Room spacious. Food at the restaurant (dinner): delicious. Reception staff: friendly and attentive. Parking across the street in harbor not too far. Note: if you’re booking “sea view” you’ll make use of the blackout drapes for sure as the floodlights are on all night!

We enjoyed this hotel. Though there is not specific parking lot for the hotel there is a good lot across the street or you can park on the street. It is all free. There are some nice dining options. We were even able to take a boat tour from the town which was excellent.

Undisclosed to us at the time we made the reservation in January, the property is in the middle of a major renovation. The construction work started before 8:00am each morning and lasted into the evening. It was very noisy and we were constantly having to walk around ladders and various equipment. The staff was apologetic, but certainly not enough to offer us a discount on our room because of the inconvenience. There was also NO hotel parking, as what appeared to be a parking lot, was also under construction. We had to find a place to park on the street near the hotel every night. In addition, the bed was not very comfortable. They did, however, offer a good hot breakfast with plenty of coffee. The staff was nice and helpful. As I pointed out upon leaving, this project should have been completed long before the start of the peak tourist season. My advice is to stay away until they’ve completed the project.

There was feces smeared on the wall by the shower. We couldn’t figure out what the strange smell was in the bathroom until the morning we checked out and saw some brown stuff on the bathroom wall. I’m sure the staff would’ve cleaned it up if they noticed it but either way, there’s not getting around it being a bad experience.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Kostenfreie Parkplätze in der Umgebung waren kein Problem. Gewundert hat uns nur, dass in einem frisch renovierten Hotel nach der ersten Nacht weder die Badewanne noch das Waschbecken gereinigt wurden. Auch die benutzten Tassen wurden nicht erneuert. Ansonsten hat uns der Aufenthalt sehr gefallen. Das Frühstück war gut und ein Platz im Restaurant war kein Problem.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our room had a wonderful view right over the harbour - we even spotted an otter in the water! There is a fairly busy road right outside but with the window closed, we barely even noticed any noise. All staff were friendly and helpful, and everywhere was very clean. I would recommend a stay here!

Hotel is under renovation. Should have been disclosed when booking. No parking at the hotel. Parked car three blocks away on city street. Room was dirty. Found food wraps and food on carpet. Bathroom fixture was broke. Last straw, room included breakfast. Tried to order coffee. They said instant coffee included, we had to pay for brewed coffee.

perfect stay, great food, just the downloadspeed of the wifi was very low...between 30/35 is nothing when you like to play Poker when misses is sleeping....a few or 5G cable broadbank is the solution...for the rest no complains at all...we are back end of April/May for a week....

Nice hotel which is currently being remodeled and updated. Room was nice, hallways a bit musty. In July our room was too warm and the windows only open 2”! Hard to cool it down. We asked for a fan but it barely worked. Would have been great if windows opened. Everything was clean and breakfast was wonderful.

Stedet var superfint efter ophold på dårligt hotel. Masser af plads og stor seng. Hotellet ligger ned til en havn hvor der lå store fiskerbåde, som havde arbejdslys tændt hele natten, selvom båden var tom. Dette lys skinnede kraftigt ind ad vinduet og selvom gardinerne var tykke, kom lyset stadig ind. Ikke noget hotellet kunne gøre for, men komforten er mindre god. Restauranten var dyr i forhold til kvaliteten. Det ligner mere end hvad det er. Men fint og rent. Morgenmaden var god med flere gode valgmuligheder.

We reserved the Diamond Suite. It is a good-sized room. It was clean and quiet. The staff was kind. The only problem is that the beds need to be replaced. There are no springs left, and we sunk to the middle of the bed. We all woke up with our backs hurting.

Let me start by saying the food is lovely and the staff very friendly and most helpful and the room itself on first glance clean and lovely bearing in mind it was a superior suite it should be . Very clean and comfortable bed HOWEVER, there was a continuous constant droning noise in the room mostly above the bed . On asking reception about it we were told it was the fans from the kitchen and they would be turned off at 9pm. Found this weird as we were on the top floor but there it was. NO it continued through r the night droning on and on the kind of noise that gets inside your head!!! And to top it all below us we had a guest that from 2am was wailing constantly until 8am not the fault of the hotel I know but the other was so all in all the worst nights sleep I have ever had would probably have been better off in one of the other rooms so until they get that noise sorted out DONT book the Tara suite

Room was fine but first night dinner was haphazard with roast beef arrived,5min later chips arrived, 5min later veg arrived, drinks ordered but after 10min had to get a waiter to reorder.same problem with desert menu.Flrst breakfast complete opposite of what we asked for, second day breakfast no fresh fruit although still 2hours of breakfast time left.When breakfast arrived the sautéed potatoes were not even half cooked,. Service very poor.

Rooms are clean and updated. The beds were very comfortable. Arrived with a flat tire and the front desk staff were very helpful in calling a garage for assistance. Great location for exploring the region.

Good hotel,very clean, Only thing that was a dissapointing was the service in the restaurant very very slow for dinner service and breakfast service was slow and on more than one occassion we had either been forgotten about or give wrong breakfast and it wasnt because it was busy.

Larissa (breakfast) was outstanding (friendly, attentive, personable). Beds super comfy. Room spacious. Food at the restaurant (dinner): delicious. Reception staff: friendly and attentive. Parking across the street in harbor not too far. Note: if you’re booking “sea view” you’ll make use of the blackout drapes for sure as the floodlights are on all night!

Hotellet ligger meget central i Killybegs - og helt ned havnen. Hotellet har været igennem en renovering og fremstår i meget fin stand. Værelserne er designet/renoveret i klassisk "country"-stil med moderne tvist og gennemført. Værelserne samt badeværelserne er meget rummelig og har de nødvendige faciliteter inkl. kaffe/te. Morgenmaden var god. Der er ikke den typiske buffet, men der en mulighed for at vælge mange forskellige retter og menuer i rigelige mænder og god kvalitet. Gratis parkering (begrænset pladser) lige udenfor hotellet.

This is in a cool fishing village. The large fishing vessels are right out the hotel windows. Water view. Attached restaurant. Convenience store across the street. Free street parking in the entire town. About a 30 minute drive to Slieve League. Staff very helpful.

Great view of the port and vessels. Receptionist (Erin), manager (Killian), and waitress (Fionna) were helpful, personable, and interesting. They made the stay as memorable as the location. Food was good. Location is a gateway to a fascinating area.

Nice hotel. Clean modern rooms and nice staff .Good location in town. Nice bar restaurant and within walking distance to other local pubs and restaurants if your looking to tour around. Walking distance to the Sliabh Liag boats trips. Lovely play park for children just across the street. Short drive to an excellent beach at Fintra and not to far a drive to walk the cliffs of Sliabh Liag.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Our room had a wonderful view right over the harbour - we even spotted an otter in the water! There is a fairly busy road right outside but with the window closed, we barely even noticed any noise. All staff were friendly and helpful, and everywhere was very clean. I would recommend a stay here!

Room was fine but first night dinner was haphazard with roast beef arrived,5min later chips arrived, 5min later veg arrived, drinks ordered but after 10min had to get a waiter to reorder.same problem with desert menu.Flrst breakfast complete opposite of what we asked for, second day breakfast no fresh fruit although still 2hours of breakfast time left.When breakfast arrived the sautéed potatoes were not even half cooked,. Service very poor.

We were extremely pleased with the Tara Hotel all around. This hotel was beautifully and newly renovated when we stayed and every aspect of the hotel is top notch in quality, offering a luxurious and equally cozy experience. Our room was directly facing the harbor, offering beautiful ocean views and our son loved watching the big trawlers in the harbor. Each room has a digital panel outside the room for guests to indicate a make-up request, DND and even has a doorbell. The bathroom was beautiful, and the beds were very comfortable. The restaurant was very nice and the food was tasty, albeit slightly on the expensive side. The pub downstairs is cozy and gives off an old pub feeling, but it's clearly very new. The included breakfast was great and the staff were all very pleasant. All-in-all, The Tara exceeded our expectations in nearly every way, and we would highly recommend a stay here if you're staying outside of Donegal.

Stedet var superfint efter ophold på dårligt hotel. Masser af plads og stor seng. Hotellet ligger ned til en havn hvor der lå store fiskerbåde, som havde arbejdslys tændt hele natten, selvom båden var tom. Dette lys skinnede kraftigt ind ad vinduet og selvom gardinerne var tykke, kom lyset stadig ind. Ikke noget hotellet kunne gøre for, men komforten er mindre god. Restauranten var dyr i forhold til kvaliteten. Det ligner mere end hvad det er. Men fint og rent. Morgenmaden var god med flere gode valgmuligheder.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Kostenfreie Parkplätze in der Umgebung waren kein Problem. Gewundert hat uns nur, dass in einem frisch renovierten Hotel nach der ersten Nacht weder die Badewanne noch das Waschbecken gereinigt wurden. Auch die benutzten Tassen wurden nicht erneuert. Ansonsten hat uns der Aufenthalt sehr gefallen. Das Frühstück war gut und ein Platz im Restaurant war kein Problem.

The hotel is pet-friendly, which was a big plus for us, and our dog was made very welcome. The staff were friendly and helpful, but a special mention has to go to Christine at reception, who was exceptionally kind, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was particularly comfortable. As the hotel is right beside the harbour, there was some noise from the road and boats, even with the window closed, but this is understandable given the location. Breakfast had a good selection and there was plenty of choice to suit different tastes. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Hotel Tara. We would be happy to stay again, especially when travelling with our dog.

We stayed at the Tara 3 yrs ago before the renovations and it was a lovely hotel so we came back for another stay. All the new renovations, the restaurant, spa, rooms and more made it an amazing stay. The food was outstanding, the decore was beautiful and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend

We really loved this hotel, and I would totally recommend it. Killybegs is a small traditional fishing village close to some stunning, empty beaches that are ideal for walking dogs. The hotel was amazing; however, if I had to critique anything, it would be the food, which wasn't as good as the overall hotel. I do want to thank Larissa and Kevin, who served us breakfast; they were very efficient and super friendly. Check out the Spa too, as that was great for my Fiancée; however, you really need to book early, as the slots get filled up quickly.
