Nice and convenient place to stay. Close to Museum. All staff was incredible nice and helpful. Staff was accommodating to our needs and requests. Thanks everybody working there Didn't like the traffic and music noise every night, but was so tired from sightseeing, was able to sleep regardless. Didn't like the daily 2 hour power outs, but that wasn't something the hotel had control over. Overall a good value for the money.

Good budget option. Location is perfect... very closed to museum, subway, restaurants, shopping area. Hotel is "vintage" but clean and in good order. Staffs friendly and helpful.

L’hôtel est bien placé, près du musée. Le personnel est gentil dans l’ensemble. Attention la navette pour l’aéroport n’est pas gratuite, on nous a demandé 15 euros. L’hôtel est vieillissant, la fenêtre de notre chambre ne fermait pas. Le petit déjeuner est simple et correct.

There was no electricity from 3pm to 4pm daily. Hotel is only on 5th floor. If you are going or coming between 3pm to 4 pm then you have use dirty stairs.

Konum mükemmel ama 24 saat caddeden yüksek araç sesleri ve korna sesleri geliyor. Bundan dolayı uyumak imkansız.Odalar çok eski ve kirli.Çarşaflar,yatak ve yastıklar temiz değil.Banyoda hamam böcekleri var ve banyo çok kötü. 3 gün kaldım ama duş almadım çünkü çok kötüydü.Konum ve personel hariç her şey kötü maalesef. Buna rağmen çalışanlar güler yüzlü ve yardımsever, kibar insanlar.Kahvaltı vasat ama sorun değil. 3 günde sadece 1 kez kahvaltı yaptım.Sadece konumu ve personeli iyi olduğu için bu otelde kalınabilir. Ama kesinlikle tavsiye etmem çünkü çok kirli.Hayatımda gördüğüm en kirli otel maalesef.

Female solo traveler here!!! The hotel is on the 5th floor. It has a great view of the city. I really liked this hotel, I found everything very clean. Location is great, you have the plaza, the museum and a lot of restaurants around it. Staff was very friendly they were very helpful to me since I was traveling by myself. I would definitely recommend it!!

I always have a great time at City View Hotel. The team are friendly and the hotel clean - what more do you need?! Nobody visits Cairo to stay in their hotel (I hope!) so this is the perfect centrally located base from which to experience the city.

I like the place, the location the staff are good. I saw some of the cockroaches, but they changed my room right away, and they sprayed and cleaned. Overall it’s amazing, close to cairo museum, nile river, cairo tower, tahir square. More or less 20 minutes drive to citadel, St. Simon Monastery, khan el-khalili,

To western eyes, this place initially looks shady, but it's actually quite nice. The staff are great, and the room we had was large and clean. The weekend street noise made it very difficult to sleep, but I guess downtown Cairo is like that.

Bom atendimento dos funcionários (recepção, café da manhã e limpeza), mas fora isso o hotel é barulhento (no centro), banheiro bem ruim, chuveiro esfriava do nada, mau cheiro em geral e cama ruim. Cafe da manha fraco. Não me hospedaria novamente.

Nice place to stay for a budget. Near the museum and the center of Cairo. You can walk everywhere without problem. The room was clean but the noise coming from the street never stops. (Think about this small before booking). The staff was super friendly and helped me out with some recommendations.

Super friendly staff, great location walking distance to local shops, food, Nile and Egyption Museum. Also great location for exploring wider Cairo as its in the centre. Hotel staff arranged airport transfers and tours all at good prices withel good service, and felt safer than street vendors.

I booked to stay at City View Hotel. When I arrived they put me on the phone with the reception. The person on the other end told me that my room was in another building of the hotel which is 2 minutes walk down the road. He said someone would accompany me there. We walked to the building, and to my surprise it was a completely different hotel: called Amin Hotel. I didn't book at Amin Hotel and told the guy at the reception. He wasn't concerned nor did he understand my concern. I told him it's not right to move guests between hotels like that which he didn't seem to understand. If I was a woman, I would not have accepted being moved between hotels as it is potentially dangerous situation. When I Google Amin Hotel it comes up as a completely separate hotel, with poor reviews. It is a 1 star hotel, but the City View Hotel (which I made my reservation) is a 3 star hotel. The room was basic and small, but fine. The shower didn't have a door or screen, so when you shower water goes everywhere and then you have to clean it up or risk slipping and breaking your leg. The TV didn't work. The breakfast was terrible. There was nobody who spoke English so nothing was clear or communicable. The food offered was stale and of awful quality. You don't get to choose what to eat, but rather get given a few pre-selected things. There was no fruit, no yogurt, no juice. I pre-paid the hotel US$15 for a taxi to take me to the airport at 4am on Monday, but when I went down my taxi was not there.

We are disappointed with our experience at City View Hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, they said they were overbooked and didn’t have room for us, even though we had a confirmation from Expedia and had booked our room over a month in advance. That was not a fun thing to hear after a long, tiring day of traveling. We ended up having to walk to another hotel with all of our luggage. There was no warning from them before we got there to check in - they could have at least messaged us so we could have taken our taxi to the other hotel instead of having to walk. Also, the airport shuttle is NOT free, as Expedia advertised. It is 500 LE one way.

The location of the hotel is very good. Tahrir Square is a minute away. The employees and the manager are very nice, polite and helpful. Wi-fi works well. Good breakfast. Our special thanks to chef Mohamed and Marina who are in charge of breakfast and to Tadros, who works at the front desk.

I have stayed here many times and that is why I come back. The staff are good especially Hany the day time Manager and the lovely chef. I was in touch before I arrived with the hotel driver via WhatsApp. I sent him my flight details etc. He assured me that the hotel car would meet me at the airport. He did not show up and he didn't answer my WhatsApp message. Not a great start, I was disappointed as it was supposed to be a free shuttle for a three night stay. I had to make other arrangements late at night after thirty hours of travel. I also asked for a double bed and overlooking Tahrir Square. I received a room overlooking the gas station and a room with two single beds. Slightly disappointed with this stay.

The City View Hotel was a safe and convenient place to stay while I was in Cairo. It is centrally located. The food, I thought was mediocre. There were a lot of packaged items for breakfast and the restaurant served meals that were adequate but the quality wasn’t that great. I think if the hotel wanted to improve it should revamp the entire kitchen in terms of what is available for breakfast and the quality of their food, in comparison to better restaurants and types of cooking. Also more variety of choices for meals would have been nice. The one shining star for me was Hassan, who arranged my travel for the entire country. He listened to and took in my preferences, my limitations, and my sensibilities. He listened in a way that supported me as a person and as a unique traveler with unique needs and wishes. I felt deeply seen and heard, and the conversations we had were very affirming, meaningful, and helped me understand how to navigate the country in a way I couldn’t have known or done on my own. All the arrangements for drivers and guides were punctual, and professional, as well as friendly and positive. I encourage anyone staying at the City Hotel to ask for Hassan to help them plan their trip in the way best for them. Thank you, Hassan!

Shuttle service was niet geregeld, ondanks contact vooraf. Mensen op locatie wel zeer vriendelijk. Hotel is prima, zeer basic, maar netjes. Bedden redelijk. Wel ontzettend veel lawaai van verkeer tot 2 uur ‘s nachts en weer vanaf 5 uur ‘s nachts. Verder wel mooi centraal gelegen.

Overall this was a great, budget friendly, hotel. Pick up from the airport was only $15 USD which was reasonable if you didn’t want to deal with taxis. Just make sure to pick up your Vodaphone SIM card at the kiosk at the airport before you leave so you don’t have to wonder around without data looking for one. Very friendly staff and could get you some good deals for day tours. I had a standard room and it did the trick as I really only used it to sleep and store my things. Breakfast was included and is a set menu - a little bit of everything and vegetarian friendly. You’re right in the heart of Tahrir Square and across from the Nile Ritz-Carlton Hotel. I felt very safe walking around and shopping / restaurants were all very walkable. If you’re not adventurous with new foods there are restaurants like McDs and KFC but if you want authentic food like Koshery there are lots of great places. There is an electronic store 6 minutes by foot that takes credit cards if you need to pick up a charging plug or cords. The Egyptian Museum is also across the street. Overall, I definitely recommend staying here.

I booked to stay at City View Hotel. When I arrived they put me on the phone with the reception. The person on the other end told me that my room was in another building of the hotel which is 2 minutes walk down the road. He said someone would accompany me there. We walked to the building, and to my surprise it was a completely different hotel: called Amin Hotel. I didn't book at Amin Hotel and told the guy at the reception. He wasn't concerned nor did he understand my concern. I told him it's not right to move guests between hotels like that which he didn't seem to understand. If I was a woman, I would not have accepted being moved between hotels as it is potentially dangerous situation. When I Google Amin Hotel it comes up as a completely separate hotel, with poor reviews. It is a 1 star hotel, but the City View Hotel (which I made my reservation) is a 3 star hotel. The room was basic and small, but fine. The shower didn't have a door or screen, so when you shower water goes everywhere and then you have to clean it up or risk slipping and breaking your leg. The TV didn't work. The breakfast was terrible. There was nobody who spoke English so nothing was clear or communicable. The food offered was stale and of awful quality. You don't get to choose what to eat, but rather get given a few pre-selected things. There was no fruit, no yogurt, no juice. I pre-paid the hotel US$15 for a taxi to take me to the airport at 4am on Monday, but when I went down my taxi was not there.

Excellent location, the shower in the quad room was tricky as limited hot water then you have to wait to heat but was fine for us as we stayed as a family of 5 for 1 night. The breakfast was lovely along with the views and the staff were so friendly and willing to help you. Would stay again

L’hôtel est bien placé, près du musée. Le personnel est gentil dans l’ensemble. Attention la navette pour l’aéroport n’est pas gratuite, on nous a demandé 15 euros. L’hôtel est vieillissant, la fenêtre de notre chambre ne fermait pas. Le petit déjeuner est simple et correct.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour, l'hôtel est au centre ville proche de toute commodités, tous les personnels étaient top et très serviables( les agents de l'accueil, les femmes de ménage et les cuisiniers ) propreté rien à dire , un grand merci au chauffeur Ahmed qui nous a accompagné pendant nos sortie vraiment c'est un homme très serviable, à l'écoute et explique bien toute l'histoire de son pays(un grand merci Mr Ahmed) . La seule chose que j'espère que l'hôtel améliore c'est le petit déjeuner qui était toujours pareil. Mais franchement rien à dire c'est excellent. Je veux rajouter qu'effectivement la navette aéroport-hôtel est gratuite. Merci beaucoup à tous les personnels de cet hôtels . À revenir inchalah . Nezha

A week before my arrival I made contact with someone about the airport shuttle transportation, but they never got back to me. I tried calling and no one answered the phone number so I took a taxi from the airport. This place is very very small. You need to go up the fifth floor on the elevator and once you get there, the reception is very courteous and helpful. I was placed in a room that face the busy street which was a little noisy however, I had brought earplugs that worked well, and I also left the television on to drown the noise from the traffic., I did not go walking around to find a place to eat as there was a café in the hotel, which also served breakfast and dinner.,

I ALWAYS stay here when i visit Cairo. It is in the perfect location and has wonderful views over Tahrir Square and the Egyptian Museum. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and treat guests like family. Sure, it can be loud at night, but that comes with the location. Take a 'white noise' playlist and you'll be fine. Enjoy your stay!
