First off, Ana is a very friendly and accommodating host. She even let me practice my Spanish on her in our communications. Muchas gracias Ana. The apartment is very spacious in every respect, and as everyone comments the balcony has a fabulous view. What we didn't expect was the peaceful evenings. Yes, it's right above the restaurants, but once you get to the bedroom at the rear you really don't notice them. And it is so much cooler back there as well. That was an unexpected bonus! Obviously, you are very close to many restaurants, so eating out is no problem. It's only a 10 minute walk to the Estacion de Guaguas, and from there you can get a bus to practically anywhere on the island that buses travel to (some hot tourist spots are suspiciously not served by public transport, e.g. Mirador del Rio). It's also a 10 minute walk to Playa del Reducto if you want to enjoy a sandy beach. There is a good supermarket (HiperDino) a few minutes walk away, but if you walk a little further (you guessed it, 10 minutes) you get all the choice you want at the HiperDino in the new mall near the Estacion de Guaguas. If you enjoy a walk, then you can walk all the way to Costa Teguise without using roads. Or you can hire a bike and cycle along a path in the opposite direction to Puerta del Carmen. I had breakfast on the balcony every morning and watched Charco de San Gines come to life. Loved it. We would certainly return, and in fact hope to do so.
