Candlewood Suites Flowood, MS by IHG

The front desk lady never got up in the 3 times I went to the desk, first upon arrival at 2:45 rudely told me that room wouldn’t be ready until 4. When I came back at 4 to check in, still stayed at desk. When I checked out today, same lady and same thing, stayed at desk which was a good distance from counter. Man that had the night shift was very friendly and was at the counter each time I saw him. Our air was not working but I didn’t complain for that, the guest laundry room was not the cleanest but the man at front desk was kind and gave me the tip to do a rinse cycle before I washed our things.

Said none smoking hotel well they just changed that last month carpet lamp shades and ceiling all felt gross and orange from all the smoke very terrible place to stay if you don’t like smoking rooms…

Listen to people all night long downstairs in parking lot having a party. You think in Floowood the police would have showed up and ask them to go to there rooms!

I was parking my car a man backed a work truck across sidewalk right in front of me. He reaked of weed. There were alot of men hanging around the back of the building. I did not feel safe at all. I had someone come stay with me so I would not be alone. The snack bar was pathetic to say the least. I had to be moved from original room because a/c did not work properly. TV did not work either. I was very disappointed. I always thought it looked nice enough from street. Staff was nice.

I have stayed here several times and love the location. However, the last time their system was down and the wifi didnt work.I usually look over technical issue beyond their control. They made us write down our card number to charge the room when the system was back up. Fast forward my debit card was used in several location around the hotel after I left. I called my bank to cancel my card WHILE I'M OUT OF TOWN IN TEXAS. That's right I'm stranded with no debit card because you employ thieves. Mind you the room was not charged still. I checked out Sunday on Christmas and they went on a shopping spree on Wednesday. I tried to call the hotel to report and their phones are were down. I only used this card for that room. I function on cash the whole Christmas break except for that room. A police report has been filed. I am LIVID.

Pulling up to property we noticed mold on outside of the building coming from AC units, but thought maybe it was cleaner inside. It was not. While the check in process was speedy and the desk clerk was friendly, that was the only good thing. There was dog hair all over, in the hallway as well as all over the room floor, curtains, etc. Took my shoes off and my socks were covered in pet hair. It may be my bad for not checking pet policy, but I have allergies and it was horrible the smell and hair all over. Worse than the dog hair was the stench of dog pee in the room. There were several dusty surfaces as if most of the room (barhroom sink, dresser drawers, tv area) was not cleaned, appearing as if only sheets and towels were changed between guests. It is a suite so there was a stove top that had burned food caked in the burners. There were dogs barking all night long and it smelled like there were marijuana plants growing in the room next to us the smell of smoke was so strong. There was a ring of grim in the bathtub, again, as if the rooms are not actually cleaned. Worst part was when I went to pull the shower curtain back and a dried, crusty, used wash cloth fell from the rod. At that moment we canceled our stay to relocate to another MUCH nicer hotel in the area. we chose a hotel in Flowood assuming it had to be nicer than Jackson proper, this was not the case. I wont stay at another Candelwood and this may be the end of all IHG hotels for me.

The A/C was broken. Room smelled. The stairway was locked. Totally against the law. This use to be top flight. Will never stay there again.

Cable wasn't working. Room was dirty and I had to wipe down the counter, table, and nightstand.

My hotel room was not properly cleaned. There were dirty bath towels on the floor of the bathroom and none of my bathroom washcloths were restocked. The bed sheets did not smell fresh either.

The room was very dirty and not maintained. Hair in the drains, stains in the carpet, dust piling up on furnishings. Terrible.

The property is fantastic. But the room I was in had a few issues that if I were staying for more than a night, I would have not liked. The outlet near the bed only had one part that worked. My shower did not drain and there was hair in it from another person's stay. There was a large stain on the carpet near the air conditioner. You practically have to slam the door to shut it, which disturbs the hall because the walls are so thin.

Dirty, garbage was piled up in the hallway. Room smelled of body odor!

The property is older and cleanliness was not their strong suit. Brdtt was Absolutely Amazing!

Staff was very accommodating. Room was very clean. Housekeeping wanted to make sure I felt the room was clean. I would recommend it.

Only complaint I have was the mattress was way to soft. I know that is opposite of most people's opinion.

I had one of the rooms that was not renovated. My tv didn’t work and the room was very outdated for the price I paid.

The location was great for our family reunion. The room had items missing including a shower curtain and light blocking drapes. The carpet in spots and the tile entry was loose and buckling. It was a pet room.

It was nice the room was big not what I expected no complaints

It smelled so bad we had to go buy an air freshener, none of the outlets in the bathroom worked, only half the outlets in the rest of the room worked. The shower barely had 2 steams of water, no trash cans, the sink was backed up

The major positive for both my wife and I was the staff and management was kind as well as professional. with us as well as with each other.

Had issues with my card key working after checking in and had to keep getting it reprogrammed. Colleague and I went to dinner and came back around 11 pm and both our keys didn't work again. No one was at the front desk. Called corporate customer service and they didn't help at all. After a couple of hours, a person that's been living/staying in the hotel for awhile heard us and told us no one works the front desk at night and people end up sleeping in the lobby until the morning front desk person comes in around 7 am. This person knew of people that are employed by the hotel that live in the hotel and they were able to get one of these people to reprogram our keys. During this time, other people needed soap, towels, etc. and the front desk phone was constantly ringing. I've been traveling for the military for decades and never had a situation like this occur. This is totally unacceptable and corporate should shut them down due to the customer neglect and unsecure building. Never stay here.

Tucked away off the main drag and safe

Besides the bathroom door didn’t lock, & we booked a king size bed/suite only to find out after we checked in that it wasn’t available. Due to someone not checking out in time. So we had to get a queen size bed/suite. Other than that the hotel was clean, & friendly staff. Many food restaurants & stores are close by. :)

Near family. Very clean room. Comfortable bed.
